Lovely breakfast, small room

Shower gel and shampoo bottle dispensers have to be brought in the shower room (they are placed next to the lavabo which is not in the bathroom). No separation between the WC seat and the shower place (when you take a shower, the WC seat gets all wet).

Large and comfortable room (7th floor). Cleanliness. Nice menu breakfast. Helpful staff.

Listing stated we got bidet. Outdoor dining. Etc. None of that there. No where to sit at breakfast. Reception lady more interested in making money off us than helping us. She Quoted extreme price for car driver and dropped it instantly when I declined. Still got car heaps cheaper Elsewhere.

Internet wasn’t great for downloading. Bathroom had no screen on shower so everything gets wet when showering.

The food (except Pho) is only prepared for the start of the breakfast (at 6:30 am). When we went for breakfast around 7:40 am on both days, a lot of food was either cold or already been gone

Really clean and tidy Hotel. Staff was really kind, late checkout and luggage storing was not a problem. Compared to other hotels in that area, Wifi was pretty good. Noisy room next to us was immediately taken care of by the staff.

There was an unpleasant situation related to breakfast. We agreed with the owner to have breakfast at 07:00, confirmed our choice of food in the previous evening and waited for the food to be delivered to our room, as discussed. However, no one came by 7:30 and we decided to go across the street and have something to eat. After about 30 minutes the owner came to the same coffee place, saw us and apologized offering to pay for the breakfast. We appreciated the gesture, but refused it, accepting the banh cuon prepared by the owner's cousin, which was delicious and helped us forget about this misunderstanding :) However, I would recommend to be more responsible and set alarms if there is a problem to get up in the morning. Also, some areas of the room walls were damaged by water infiltration. There was a bad smell because of that and because of the room not being used. Also, a bad old smell came out from the wardrobe when we opened it. Fortunately, we needed to stay only one night, plus it was cool outside and we could open the window to let some fresher air in.

The owners of the hotel are kind. The building looks nice and the room was as clean as it could be, considering the damp on interior walls. The location is central and we had a parking place, which was very good, given the busy area. The banh cuon we had for breakfast was very good.

Although the lady from the reception was nice and tried to fix the problems , it was quite a disaster of a stay. We didn’t had one of the rooms when we arrived around 9pm (overbooking most likely) . My friend stayed in a room that most likely isn’t for guests (just by the reception) it was super noisy and dirty with hairs and cockroaches. My room was ok… but… I asked to park the car in front of the hotel, the lady said it was ok but then at 6.00 something am the guy from the reception frenetically started to knock on the door to take out the car. I told them that we needed some good rest because we made a really far journey , we had to stay awake till late because of work and we ended not having almost any sleep .

Very well appointed spacious rooms with a nice soft bed. Close to the centre of town but on a quiet street. Our room had lovely views of the mountains, river and city.

The room was double booked and we were notified 1 hour before arrival. Unfortunately we did not see this before showing up. Staff were most concerned about us cancelling our booking, presumably to save them booking fees. We were directed onto the street and told there is a hotel in this direction and a hotel in that direction. We opted for a drink across the road to find another place on booking.com. Learnt that standard booking.com process is to be placed in another equivalent or better hotel and transported at the original hotels cost. We found a place we were happy with that was 15% more expensive (80,000 dong). As the place had been so rude previously we went back across the road to see what they would offer in terms of service. We would not usually do this but it really had been terrible service earlier. They would not pay the difference but did suggest an equivalent place nearby (Thanh Loan Hotel). This was only half the price of max boutique, staff at the max boutique seemed to think it was equivalent quality. I eventually walked out back to my wife at the drinks place and we booked our desired place for 80,000 dong more. After all that, we decided on one last hail Mary at the max boutique hotel. My wife went in to see if they would transport us to the new hotel and back again in the morning (our shuttle was picking us up from nearby max boutique). They offered to ring a taxi (at our cost) but with a lot of effort eventually offered to drive free of cost. To our surprise a scooter showed up, we had to transport our bags on this which was an experience. We would have paid for a taxi had we not had to work so hard for this first piece of service at the max boutique. Unfortunately, despite assurances to the contrary the max boutique staff did not show up in the morning for the return journey and we had to make other arrangements. Due to this we have given 1*.

TLDR: stay at the Thanh Loan Hotel for half the price and equivalent quality* OR spend more and stay at La Maison *Quality has not been experienced and is only known by the staff assurances at the max boutique hotel.

There was nobody at the reception when we arrived (it's empty a lot of the time), the person was sleeping so we had to look through their desk to find our key card matching my name to be able to check in. The room was not very clean which actually made me think i had taken the wrong key so i went back down to the reception banged on all doors until the person woke up, he then confirmed it was the right key, so cleanliness is clearly not a priority in that hotel. The breakfast is not bad but they dont clean the tables when someone is finished so if you come a little bit later all the tables are dirty and most of the food is gone and they dont refill them. The shower is just a corner of the bathroom so you flood the whole thing when you take a shower. The room size was pretty small for a double room, basically just enough room to squeeze your legs around the bed.

The reception is open 24h so we were able to get in our room at 5am when our bus arrived. The bed was comfortable, the hotel is located in center. The view was ok.
