Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWe spent 3 nights at Daniel's homestay and we loved it. All the staff was lovely and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The bungalow was comfortable and the surroundings were so peaceful. The homestay is located in a quiet rural area, it was very pleasant to cycle around and see local people. You can also reach Can Tho city centre by motorbike in 25min. We did the two boat tours provided by the homestay and we spent a nice time with the guide Anne, doing different little activities and learning more about the local life. We would definitely choose this place again!

United KingdomI have to say that I found the mattresses a bit too hard. I would also have appreciated having a bedside light bright enough to enable me to read. Maybe solutions will be found to address these issues. The outside light on the verandah could also be brighter, and in some bungalows, the hammock is the only really comfortable seating option. A fan on the verandah would also be a plus. I found Daniel and especially his wife Duyen (or Jenny) very open to some of these suggestions. I lived in Vietnam for 12 years a long time ago, and am distressed now to see how the natural environment has been ruined in rural areas by all the rubbish, especially plastic, that is discarded everywhere, especially in the rivers. So the boat tours organised by the Homestay, in my opinion, are not the best way to spend one's time. My eyes were constantly drawn to the different types of trash floating about and lining the banks. Many years ago the floating market was a genuine Vietnamese thing. Nowadays it has no real reason for its existence as a market, except as a tourist attraction and for the people who live on the boats. It is kept alive artificially by all the tourist companies. For me, it is of little interest any more.
The setting is rustic, charming and harmonious. Daniel and his wife have created an atmosphere that is impossible to find in a hotel. It is relaxed, intimate and, at the same time, efficient. Nothing is too much trouble for them and their team. The bungalows are immaculately clean, there is plenty of hot water, which takes a few minutes to become hot, the air conditioners work very well, and there are fans for those who don't like air-conditioning. The hammock on the bungalow's verandah is a nice touch, You can have breakfast (English or Vietnamese) at any time you like, and the food in the evening (Vietnamese) is mostly excellent, with a good choice of dishes. You order what you want, and it is ready for you an hour later, freshly cooked. Their fresh passion fruit juice is to die for. For us, by far the most interesting thing to do was to ride bicycles along the network of small village roads directly accessible from the homestay. You could also do this on foot, instead of cycling, if you preferred. It is also possible to rent motorbikes, if you want to go further afield. Stopping off for a coffee or fruit juice at small riverside cafés and just taking in the scenery of normal, rural Vietnamese life, with the frequent shouts of "hello" coming from children and sometimes adults, as you ride along these small, flat roads (except for the bridges) is really a delight. Above all it is the amazing natural hospitality and friendliness of Daniel, his wife and team, as well as the attractive setting, that makes this homestay stand out. It was a really wonderful and relaxing stay.

Great location just the right distance outside of Can Tho. Daniel, his wife, and staff are all very friendly and do a great job with this place. Excellent communication. Restaurant is very communal and easy to meet other travelers (mostly foreigners when we went), dinner was fantastic. Modern television is much appreciated as well.

PolandWe had an unlucky event of a very loud wedding lasting for 2 days, but that as we understand is unusual and obviously not owners fault. For now it's impossible to drive to the entrance by car, however owner takes care of that with transporting luggage by scooters. Hardly a downside, but worth mentioning.
Owner is extremely helpful. We felt very taken care of. At Daniel's homestay you don't need to worry about anything. Trips, food, drinks and everything can be taken care of for you for a very good price/worth ratio. Wifi is good enough for working remotely (streaming included). Our bungalow had everything in place as described. They take extra steps to make your stay amazing and it shows. Our daughter had a birthday coming up while we were there and we asked to help organize something. Instead of help, we received a fully organized party on the owners cost. I'm taking full service, with amazing grilled fish and traditional vietnamese food. Even drinks were included. We couldn't be more satisfied. There are bikes you can borrow free of charge, Daniel loves fishing so ask him about going on a fishing extravaganza and he will be ecstatic to take you to his best spots. Daniel gives a personal touch to everything, his staff is doing an excellent job as well. Excellent!

GermanyAbsolutely nothing, a true gem of a place.
One of the best places we have stayed in south east Asia. Daniel and his charming wife Jenny were just amazing with us and especially with our kids. Nothing was ever too much to ask, Daniel saw that the kids liked fishing so he made sure that ll of our kids had rods and his specially prepared bait which seemed to lure in some huge fish right next to the bungalows we were staying - it really was a life highlight for my children. The bungalows themselves were so well maintained and clean and beautifully intergrated into nature. Daniel and Jenny have done an incredible job with this homestay, it really was one of the highlights of our trip. We can highly recommened the tours with them to the floating market and chocolate factory as well as taking the bikes they offer to cycle around the delta. Thanks guys for a wonderful stay, it really was a fanastic experience.
