Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDue to poor ventilation and damp the rooms had lots of mould on the blinds and sealing and the windows would cover with condensation and there the place smelt and felt damp
Beautifully set up away from the busyness of the town. The view and garden are beautiful and it’s a lovely concept

Lovely place overlooking the river out of the kaos and pollution of Cao bang. The terraced garden is quite enjoable for dining in the evening lights. Single Room was small but i expected that, air con good. A nice base to explore the province.

VietnamA bit far away from most attractions but won't be a problem if a more secluded location to relax is preferred. Also the shower head's multi spray in bathroom 1 will give you a strong wake up call in the morning. Straight in the face.
Everything was clean and neat, the staffs were nice and accomodating. View from room 2 was amazing especially in sunny days. The kitchen works late til night and the food is delicious. Overall a super nice stay that I'll recommend to anyone going to Cao Bang for a little getaway.

VietnamI am not sure it is worth eating here. A limited menu and not entirely sure the "chefs" knew what to do. The room was fine - you get what you pay for.
It is a lovely location outside Cao Bang and the owner/staff were very welcoming and helpful.

United StatesThe pictures of my room made it seem much nicer than what it was. The bed was as hard as a rock and had a terrible night of sleep.
The location was outside of the city and had a beautiful seating area on a cliff surrounded by woods. The outside seating area was well lit and made for a nice ambiance.

United StatesThe bathroom is not comfortable or super clean. There were definitely stains and marks on the walls plus I was sharing the bathroom with a lizard (though you should expect bugs, etc in the forest). They don't service the rooms on a daily basis so I had the same trash in my room for 3 days. This didn't bother me personally but you will hear other guests clearly making noise until after 9pm so beware if you're a soft sleeper. The closest restaurant option is 25 mins walk away. The property should invest in some bicycles that guests can use to go into town.
The property is very charming, nestled in the forest with a beautiful view of the valley & bridge. The design is modern and clean. The staff are fun and friendly and accommodating. Air conditioning worked well & the food was decent. For the price, this is a good option!

MauritiusThe room was not clean. There was mold in the bathroom, lizard droppings on the sink and dust in the room. The walls are paper thin as there is zero sound proofing. From our room in the house we could hear every single words of a conversation being held on the deck outside and the clients were not even talking loudly. We could also hear clearly from the lobby and corridors.

United KingdomIt’s a shame but this place has so much potential, first of all the room wasn’t hoovered properly and there was a half chewed candy on the floor and loads of spider webs in the corners of the sealing. Main problem with this property is that it has a damp issue. There are damp fungal stains all over the blinds. My advise would be to leave windows all open to allow some air circulating in the rooms when they are vacant, close windows and hoover all the bugs out just before the guest arrive and put an extractor fan in the bathroom and have it on all the time and bleach those blinds. Couldn’t breathe properly in the night. -also would have been nice to get clean set of towels for the second night we were there.
It’s hidden in a nature part of cao bang. Very peaceful! Loved the dogs. The staff were really nice and attentive.

VietnamThe road to this place is under construction. If you’re arriving by bike after a rainy day, it will be messy with a chance of slipping. Upon arrival, the only greeting we got were from the dogs. after a long day of riding we were tired and hungry but they said it would take an hour to prep lunch, which we understood and decided instead to head into town for a feed. in the morning when we called staff on the number provided, no one answered. Banh Mi had finished so we communicated with staff that it’s fine and that we would just pack up and head into town on the way and look for food and if they could collect our laundry from the night before and that we understand it might still be a little damp but we needed to go. we waited in the room for about 20 minutes. I came up and the staff was sitting behind the counter on her phone. I mentioned to her that we’ve been waiting for the laundry so we went round to the clothesline where my partner had started removing our clothes, seeing this she left to go back inside. i approached her about this and she said she saw him doing it so she left.
The rooms were comfortable and built well. The dogs welcomed us with cuddles

NetherlandsWe had a room on the first floor that was literally 35 degrees Celsius when we arrived. It was extremely hot. Also, there are lots of mosquitos and other bugs inside because the doors are open all day. Unfortunately we even saw a rat inside the lobby. Staff barely speaks English.
The view from the patio outside is really peaceful, especially compared to the noisy city center of Cao Bang. Also, the staff is friendly. They gave us grass jelly the 2nd day of our stay which was really kind. They also briefed us about the road closure and offered to meet us in a street nearby. The breakfast and diner were good.
