Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We didn't get reserved room, but they provided upgraded room for only first three nights, and last night we were need to go to a lower grade room, as they informed us, our reservation was lost. United KingdomIf you want to be in an area without lots of people, would recommend different location as this is right in centre of hanoi but our room was far from street so there was no noise
The location is great - right in middle of hanoi so easy to walk around. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit and rooms spacious and comfortable

United StatesPerfect hotel in Hanoi! Awesome location in the heart of the old quarter, close to all the highlights! We booked the premier suite and loved it! Very spacious and comfortable, nice balcony! The buffet breakfast was delicious and it was different every day. Special thanks to Mr. Quan Dinh! I reached out to ask for help with booking a Ha Long Bay tour; Mr. Dinh was very responsive and helpful! We had the most amazing experience thanks to his help with planning and his recommendations. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating; always willing to help us with everything we needed. Thanks again for the hospitality and the thoughtful welcome fruits/anniversary decoration upon our arrival. We can’t wait to come back to Vietnam and stay at the MK again!

MontenegroWe encountered the problem with shower head and tap which hotel staff were not able to solve during our 2 days stay. Even though the place was great, small issue like not being able to a proper shower (especially after sweating in Hanoi) is actually a big deal that hotel with such a rating should be able to solve immediatelly.
Hotel is perfectly located. Room was very comfortable (60m2) with own balcony looking towards the street. Cleanness was on high level.

CanadaIt was a little noisy at night. It added to the atmosphere of being right in the center of the old quad
The breakfast had lots of choices. I really liked that they had a well equipped gym.

Hong KongStaff were pushing trollies around the corridor on one of the nights during our stay, so it was a bit noisy then. The wifi was weak, but enough to watch some Netflix on our iPad.
The hotel space is good, and it has a nice rooftop restaurant and bar. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The hotel is located near the 'beer street' but not so close that it is noisy. The breakfast food options were decent, and they do serve a good pho.

United StatesSome details show some age, but fine overall. Surprised that the gym has an extra fee, but it’s not too bad for an actually nice gym.
Classic hotel, perfectly located. The staff was very accommodating. We got a quiet room even though the hotel is in the very middle of loud old town. Good cocktails on the rooftop bar.

CanadaBreakfast had a good variety, something for everyone and especially loved the homemade yogurt and fruit. All the staff were so kind and attentive and went out of their way to please us. We want to especially comment on both Lan Anh and Th’anh who were really exceptional. They went above and beyond and made our day every day we were there and always with a smile. Also have to say how much we appreciated the very comfy bed and the best pillows ever! Location was very good and we really enjoyed both the rooftop area and also the street entrance level sitting area with the cafe.

United KingdomNothing really.
The staff are so helpful and friendly. We also loved our comfy bed and how quiet it was at the back of the hotel so sleeping was not a problem. We sacrificed having a balcony or a view so we could sleep but we’re glad we did as we arrived on Saturday when the Old Quarter have their night market. Love the area though as there are lots of restaurants and it’s within easy walking distance to a lot of attractions.

United KingdomThe room/bedding and towels had a very odd smell. Not pleasant. At night the music goes on very late on the street bring ear plugs. Seemed to be lots of hornets on the balcony so we never used it. Also our toilet stopped working but they were very quick to sort someone to fix it.
Very central location, close to everything! Staff were very friendly and we loved the rooftop bar. Breakfast was ok but not much variety. The gym underneath the hotel was brilliant!
