I loved how even in a dorm room, you get a dressing gown, and toiletries, like in a hotel. The beds were sturdy and comfortable, good AC. Very friendly staff. I also had a crepe and coffee on my last morning and they were very well made.

So their security system during the night is one of the guys sleeping on the couch. You ring the bell, he unlocks the massive gate that’s always locked. Problem is he slept so tight *I could not get out* lol. Took me 15 min of making noise and at some point punching his side to let me out in a late Friday evening. I’m not mad tho.

Clean rooms, they even give you bath robes!! - unheard of in other hostels. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I like the area a lot too, if you’re not a fan of the beer street atmosphere.

The Vietnamese iced coffee was a little too tuned towards the Western taste - would advise if the hotel could offer coffee similar to the ones at nearby cafes. Stronger, no foam, and let us mix the condensed milk ourselves as is custom here. :)

Offered me whatever was possible in breakfast considering I am a vegetarian. Very kind staff - everyone was all smiles and very welcoming. Food was as you expect it to be, nothing wrong with it at all. New towels were given every day which was amazing. They helped me carry my 13kg suitcase up to 2nd floor which I was very thankful for after a sleepless overnight flight. Room was clean and spacious and had everything that I needed already ready to go. Linh especially was fantastic in arranging transport to Ninh Binh for me at a very short notice. We got talking at 10:30am, transport was sorted by 11am, and I was on my way by 12:45pm in a very comfortable arrangement. The price was very competitive too - I was honestly shocked in a good way. She also made sure I was safe and in the correct vehicles through-out the journey - so very kind! A bit far from the city center (at least the tourist bits) but not a big issue in my opinion. A Grab bike will take you to 10 to 15 minutes and you're there. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think it's a con at all.

Only problem is the bathroom door for bedroom 2 is broken so it makes a huge noise whenever someone shuts it or open it… annoying at night.

Perfect experience ! Very cosy & beautiful The hostel is quiet which is unsual but amazing. People are very nice. The staff also. Unlimited water at the reception. There is breakfast but never tried it. They serve food all day from what I saw (croque monsieur for example). The bed is comfortable. There is one big towel, one bathrobe, one small towel, a big drawer under the bed to store your items (not big enough for a 40L bag…).

Amazing stay in Tay Ho! If you want to escape the craziness of old town, this is the best spot to stay. The staff, especially Mai, are super accommodating and kind. There is also a great pho place right next to the guest house.

The main lighting in the room is oddly placed next to the top bunks. Breakfast is good but a little costly. The bathroom is a little weird of the tub.

Beds were comfortable and they provide towels. There is a nice cafe on the first level.

Bathroom door in 6 bed dorm requires some basic maintenance so it shuts more easily. Guests need to bang it closed at all hours of the night.

Amazing staff and property. Located away from the mayhem of the old quarter and generally peaceful. Good breakfast.
