Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyI had a wonderful stay at My Son Boutique Hotel in Hoi An. It is very nicely located, close to the city centre (all within walking distance) and yet quiet, I slept really well. The rooms are very nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. There is a pool which is a great place to relax after a long day. A big plus was the friendly staff who did everything to make their guests feel comfortable, both at the reception and in the restaurant. I spontaneously got a breakfast box when I was picked up early for the excursion, as well as extra vegetarian dishes for the breakfast buffet. Thank you for a wonderful stay (definitely one of my favourite places in Vietnam), I would love to come back.

KenyaMy stay at My Son Boutique Hotel and Spa was absolutely fantastic! I booked for two nights but ended up extending my stay for an extra night because I was so impressed. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The hotel's central location on a quiet street was perfect, and being fairly new, it boasted modern amenities and excellent facilities. I particularly enjoyed cooling off in the amazing outdoor pool, especially when the breeze was blowing. The breakfast spread was delicious, and I appreciated the variety offered. What really stood out to me was how the hotel went above and beyond to facilitate my needs, from arranging a scooter for me to taking care of all logistics. The complimentary scheduled shuttle rides to the old town and the free bicycle provided by the hotel were added bonuses that made exploring the area even more convenient. Overall, I highly recommend My Son Boutique Hotel and Spa to anyone looking for a top-notch stay with exceptional service and amenities.

AustraliaThe beds were a little firmer than expected but better than a saggy bed. Our air conditioner needed to not blow right on the beds
We loved the location, the staff and the facilities . Linnsie and Ivy were exceptional and extremely attentive, as were the staff at breakfast each morning. We enjoyed this stay, it was better than our 5 star resort the week before.

AustraliaI don't think there was much to dislike. We could hear the chairs from the dining/breakfast room downstairs because we were on a low level, if that will bother you choose a higher floor room. There's also a friendly rooster that starts at early dawn, that's common in Vietnam. If that will bother you, bring earplugs. :) Just as tips for other travellers.
This hotel is a good location in Hoi An and the staff are good. The breakfast is great too. Thank you

AustraliaI booked this place due to excellent reviews, but I wish I had stayed a bit closer to the Old Town. There were no stores nearby where I could get snacks or drinks from. Some of the streets leading to the hotel is still unpaved. Not much of a view from hotel

United KingdomNice location out of the centre of Hoi An, but close enough to stroll into the old town. Also next to the rice paddies which were lovely to cycle through. The bicycles were free to borrow and it was only 10/15 mins to the beach. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. They even packed us off with a breakfast bag for our early flight :)

We had an excellent stay at the My Son Boutique Hotel & Spa. We really appreciated the location, which is about 15 minutes' walk from the old quarter of Hoi An, yet quiet. The room was pleasant, clean and spacious. We also really enjoyed the treatments we received at the spa (massage and facial), which were excellent. All the staff were wonderful and welcoming. Special thanks to Ivy and her receptionist colleague, Simon, Lisa and her Spa colleague for their helpfulness and kindness. We're looking forward to coming back !
