How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

- the owner couple is the best - cheap breakfast - no problems to stay longer, we only had to change the room - he gave us tipps what to do in hue - quiet area - charmy house

Great place close to the center. The owners were the nicest people the lady was great fun and very helpful she also gave us jack fruit and bananas. 🙂 Thanks for a great time. Definitely recommend this place for a trip to Hue

Dormroom was tiny, not much space inside.
Staff was very nice. Location was great. Nice Breakfast. Rooftop was very cool and great view! Rooms and bathrooms were clean! Comfortable beds.

Considering how inexpensive the dorms were, I was surprised by how nice my stay was! Friendly staff, always available, free coffee/tea/bananas, nice view, comfy beds, places to sit and hang out. The dorms are definitely not noise proof—you hear everything happening outside the room, but I’d still say it exceeded expectations and I would recommend staying here!

The owners were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Very comfortable bed, and very quiet, felt like a peaceful haven to retreat to in a beautiful hotel. Just out of the main town but within walking distance. Free coffee/tea in the morning, and water on arrival. Had our laundry washed and dried within a day. We booked our onward bus through them and the took us to the bus station on the back of their scooters.

rooms a bit too small there was a cockroach in the shower - I guess it’s common here with the climate
lovely homestay with really friendly family they replied immediately to all emails and I felt very welcomed When I arrived I was offered tea, coffee and some bananas and even a piece of cake wifi is good over all floors lovely view from upstairs it’s walking distance to everything you can rent a scooter or bike (for some money though - In Hoi an they’re usually free) breakfast if you like eggs and stuff for a cheap price towel provided, toothbrush even clean, comfy he showed me places to visit! by the way - I really recommend to go to the abandoned water park

The worse thing was that we could not stay longer.
The homestay is close to downtown but away from the noise and chaos. The rooms are larger than most. The host , Mr Tam can organize Anything! We had a special meal for 4 at the homestay and it was Great! Rooftop patio to watch the sunset. Proper Family run Homestay! Secure easy parking for our Motorcycles....and lovely birds too !

- the staff were very friendly! even helped me with my grab food order.. - we had the room with windows and would definitely recommend this room, it was spacious and clean - unfortunately I was unwell during my trip to Hue, but luckily I was staying in this nice room which made it not so bad

This is a lovely place to stay. The owners are so helpful and friendly. They even cooked for me and ate with me for no cost and were so kind! The dorm room was nice, and the place is quiet but still sociable. I can’t recommend this place enough, especially for other soup travellers.

Great location to good local restaurants. Excellent communication and helpful advice. Host go that extra to help.. .. They got up at 4am to organize a taxi for me. Highly recommended
