Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNan House is such a beautiful place - surrounded by nature and only 15 min walk away from the busy streets of Tam Coc. The staff is lovely and makes you feel like home instantly. If we'll come back, we would stay with you again. Thank you for everything!

Excellent location in Tam coc in the rice fields, the area is really relaxing. the owners are excellent host, very caring. Their restaurant cuisine is a top choice for Vietnamese dish. A real breakfast for the morning

SwitzerlandEverything was really good. If I really have to say anything, it would have been nice to also have Pho for breakfast. ☺️ but with 6 other choices, there is definitely something for everyone.
the hospitality of the owner and his staff, the view from the restaurant on the lotus pond, the spacious room, the nice pool, the free bikes (even with a child seat), perfect wifi connection, the footbath in the room, location close to the centre and many nice places to visit, free fruit sometimes in the room and so on!

United KingdomPool was cloudy so we didn’t feel comfortable taking a dip. No space around pool for lounging although there were chairs and hammocks in the garden area nearby. Occasionally some bedding smelled a bit musty, like it hadn’t dried quickly enough.
Large room, friendly staff, clean bedding, good WiFi, lovely seating areas in garden with hammocks and tables, relaxing place to be, free use of bikes, great breakfast, free drinking water fountain.

NetherlandsIt is in times where you need a bit of extra help that you can really see the quality of the service provided. In our case, one of our group was not feeling great. The staff at Nan House went the extra mile to look after the patient, by checking up on her and bringing food and drinks. Not only did they genuinely care, the owners of Nan House are super friendly people with a great sense of humour.

The property was in a fantastic quiet location, only a 4 minute bike ride or 10 minute walk into the busy Tam Coc town. The room and facilities were perfect and super clean, the bed was very comfortable and the room was huge. The staff were very attentive and all so kind, with the owner making an effort to see how your day is going every day and they were great at recommending places to visit. It’s a perfect location to go to the town but also Mua Cave, the Trang an boat ride and visiting many temples, they have free bicycles and the attractions were only 4-8km away and the cycle is through beautiful paddy fields with mountains in the background. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and had a beautiful view of the pond. The staff were helpful and organised a limousine bus back to Hanoi Airport for us which was very comfortable and smooth. Would definitely recommend!

United KingdomThe room was right at the back next to the kitchen so any noise from builders in the area faded away to a point where you couldn't heat anything. That being said, you can here the guys starting to cook breakfast around 7:30, but not so much that it would keep you awake. The location is good, off the beaten track a bit, but a lovely walk into the hustle and bustle either on the road or via lovely little rice paddy lined walkway which we loved taking. 5 mins walk for either route. If you're wondering you need European plugs (the round ones), but the shops sold the anyway for a couple of pounds. Mrs Nan House organised for us to be picked up at Hanoi airport for around £50 and it was about a 2 1/2 hour trip so really good value and an must given the amount of hassle is prevented, plus after a long flight we didn't want to faff with buses. All in all a really wonderful stay. Get Mrs Nan House to sort your activities out for you.

United KingdomThe shower is more of a wet room and wets half of the bathroom floor, not ideal as the toilet is next to the shower. As mentioned we stayed over a very wet few days and the room felt a little damp, but there was no sign of this on the walls.
Friendly staff who are super accommodating and happy to offer information about the local area. The use of the free bikes was a bonus and meant we could cycle into town, to the Mua Caves and Trang A without having to pay for taxis which we loved. Unfortunately we stayed over a very rainy few days, but the cycling was still beautiful and we enjoyed getting to see the local area. The hotel is well situated, just a short 10-15 walk into town and if you’re walking back late the path is well lit. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

A nice guesthouse, ten minutes walk from the main street where restaurants are located in Tam Coc. They add 3% for paying with a credit or debit card and their listed prices for extras are pre covid. We stayed three nights.
