Sea view room need renovation, shower is taking to long to get hot water. Tv is struggling can signal. Room looks a bit old. I stay in different room before in the same hotel and room was more modern. Should be opposite because sea view rooms most expensive in the hotel

Really nice hotel in Cat Ba. The room was really big. The staff was also very kind and welcoming. Its in good location but you have a nice calm stay because you cant hear any noice from the streets. We also booked a trip to Lan Ha Bay though them and it was amazing. You can get a lot of options for breakfast for free, which is really nice.

The place is a bit run down and rough around the edges, a work in progress. The Vietnamese breakfast was great, according to the people in our group who tried it but the Western breakfast options were not so much to our taste. There was no salt on the eggs and too much oil. A very loud propaganda speaker (we think) starts his day at 6.00 o'clock in front of the hotel - it affected us as we had views across the front and the sea. Our daughter, in a room with a view of mountains, wasn't disturbed. Different things didn't work at different times but Alex was quick to put them all right.

Our host, Alex, was fabulous - always going the extra mile and being extremely helpful with everything. He booked us a fantastic cruise, transport from and to Hanoi, gave us unlimited free bottled wated and always answered all concerns very quickly. All our group loved him and felt very welcome. The sea view rooms have amazing vistas over the ocean - we saw a couple of superb sun rises. The beds are comfortable and there's enough space. The bathrooms are basic but functional. The hotel is centrally located and Cat Ba is a wonderful place.

We had a very lovely stay. The owner of the hotel made it very easy for us. We could rent motorbikes for a very fair price, when something was with the room we could contact him at any time. For example the whole block had no power for a couple of hours and he had a generator running. He also organized a tour to Lan Ha bay for a very fair price. We have done quite a few tours in southeast asia and we all said it was the best so far. He even got my shoes back which I forgot on the bus. So he has a good network for tourists and they all speak English quite well. He also booked us our bus to Sapa which came on time and picked us up from the hotel. We were quite satisfied with our rooms and there were even elevators. The view from the hotel was amazing and the location perfect - very close to the beaches, 30m away from the sea and supermarkets and restaurants close by. We had a lovely stay!
