Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThey charge for additional bottle of water. They said only 2 bottles of water which is 330ml per bottler for each day. If any additional bottle of water is chargeable. This seems to be ridiculous for the 4-5 star rating hotel which I havent encountered something like this before with 4-5 star rating hotels.
Very clean and cosy. Well maintained. Perfect location.

SingaporeMay be to have the pool heated and offer more local food varieties
We stayed 4 nights in a Premium double room with valley view and we added one extra bed for convenience as we have 2 young kids. The room has a balcony and very clean and big. From the room we can see the valley and it was wonderful. My kids enjoyed the billard, the babyfoot table and the pool. We also enjoyed the restaurant with a wonderful view on the valley. Staff were friendly and helpful in recommending the day tours. We will definitely book again the hotel if we go back to Sapa.

Puerto RicoWe absolutely loved our stay at Pao's. It looks exactly like the photos (which is not always the case), was very comfortable and all the staff were lovely. We had originally stayed for 3 nights, and ended up extending an extra 9 because it was such a nice place to base ourselves. The value for money was second to none. Views over the valley from the balcony were outstanding. The desk in the room had plenty of space to work, and there were common seating areas if you wanted to have a change of scenery. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone. We also utilized the gym quite a bit (the full set of dumbells was great). We had originally thought it may have been a little far away, but the walk to town is actually very easy. They also have the free shuttle that runs basically every 2 hours, or you can just take a paid electric vehicle from the door.

Singapore-
Room is comfy, clean and big. Good shower and toilet facilities, great service from the staff as well. Weather was misty and couldn’t see much of a view. Location is pretty okay, we could walked back (downslope) to hotel and get the electric vehicle at 50k to reach sapa town area. They have indoor pool, gym, pool table.

United KingdomOur rooms location was just above reception, so we could unfortunately hear the children's play area from our room at times, but it was otherwise very quiet. We booked the return shuttle with the concierge team, from Sapa town to the hotel, but the minibus wasn't there at the agreed time. We contacted the hotel and there was a lot of confusion, but they said someone was on their way. We called them again, and they said traffic was too bad to get to us (It was very busy with traffic jams on side streets) so they said to get a taxi and the hotel will pay for our journey, the receptionist was very helpful and our journey was paid for when we got there, but we had been waiting in the rain for almost an hour after a busy day, so it was quite frustrating. We do appreciate that the hotel was able to help us in the end, and despite this we would definitely stay here again.
This is a fantastic hotel, it's beautifully designed with cultural accents throughout reflecting the local area and people. We absolutely loved our room, lovely layout with a nice sized balcony and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the room exceptionally clean. We felt very relaxed here. Food was great, the breakfast buffet was amazing and replenished well, even almost at the end of breakfast time. Staff were very helpful, attentive and welcoming, with good English. Nice indoor pool. We had room service a few nights, and it was very good. There is a shuttle service to Sapa town, which you have to book at least 20 minutes in advance, it goes at particular times in the day. It's about a 20-30 minute walk into town which is not too strenuous, but the shuttle is a nice option.

SingaporeThe shower doesn’t have a door, so water splashes out quite a bit.
Clean, spacious, good facilities. Very worth the money. Because it’s out of the town center, it’s quiet and peaceful with uninterrupted views of the valley and Fansipan mountain. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.

GermanyBreakfast selection was far from 5 stars. Missed an egg station (custom omelette, etc), Nutella and fresh orange juice just to name a few examples. The gym is an absolute joke for a five star hotel. It consists of 3 different stations and couldn't be worse located.
Very comfortable beds, beautiful view into the valley (need to book the right room category or you end up with inside courtyard view). Staff was very caring and helpful

CanadaThe property is gorgeous perched on a hill. You won't get nicer views in Sapa. It's quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the town, you actually feel like you are in with nature. The rooms were nice and spacious and the window seat was a delight. The balcony overlooking the valley was the highlight to wake up every morning in the clouds was a dream. The staff were so kind and attentive to our needs. We really felt like they knew us personally. They helped us secure tickets to Fansipan as well. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice and was very tasty. The pool was phenomenal. It was warm and had beautiful views. The shuttle into town was also very convenient to use and helpful.
