Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

From the second I booked Rose and Rex were both so helpful. I was arriving late night into Sapa and they arranged a taxi for me. The room was beautiful with an amazing balcony view. The bathroom was also very nice and clean. The breakfast was perfect and the trek organised by them was ideal!

JerseyI liked everything.
The property was beautiful. They have a lovely indoor and outdoor space with an amazing view of the paddy fields and village across the other side of the valley. The room was cozy and had a balcony that overlooked the similar view as communal spaces. Bathroom was stunning, beds were comfy and we had all the amenities we could have needed. The food was spectacular (particularly the spicy eggplant, would recommend to anyone). Both the owners were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. They let us borrow wellies for muddy treks, organised taxis, and gave recommendations. Lots of options on the included breakfast as well, with access to many other food options in the local village. A massive bonus was the amount of puppies around! If I ever come back to Sapa (which I intend to do) I’ll be staying at the Plum Eco House again!!

Hong KongThe sound-proof is really bad - could hear every word the person was saying next door but I guess the material used to build the ecohouse is like this.
The view at the room balcony is superb. Hot water in the room is stable. Logistics from booking, transportation to tour arrangement was smooth with clear instruction. Breakfast and the food was amazing, we did not expect that at all! Location is perfect - not too remote (can be accessed by taxi easily) while we could enjoy the nature quietly.

We liked it all. Located in a Valley 25 minut drive from Sapa - quiet area. We enjoyed the ducks, chickens and waterbuffaloes near by. The owners were really great and always ready to help. The best food in the area - Booth vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Our treeking-guide, Mimi, was also very good and patient when needed for non experienced trekkers. The area has a few restaurant/cafees and local shops.

United StatesI cannot say enough good things about this place! The location was beautiful and quiet, the food was good and plentiful, and the rooms were nicely decorated with comfortable beds. But the best thing about this place are the hosts, Rose and Rex. Truly amazing people that are willing to do anything to help. I got extremely sick (something I ate before arriving in Sapa) and Rose came to the clinic with me and stayed with me for 3 hours and made sure I was ok. They were always willing to organize taxis, buses, activities, etc…They truly care and I can’t think of better hosts. Definitely stay here if you are coming to Ta Van!!

SingaporeStaying at Plum Eco House was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip, especially for my kids. Location: Situated just a 25-minute ride from Sapa Center, Plum Eco House feels like you're in a different world compared to the very busy town of Sapa. The view on the way to this homestay is very scenic and breathtaking. The mountains and rice fields are so beautiful, especially when the rice had already grown and on a clear day. Reason for Choosing Homestay: The main reason we chose a homestay was for my kids' cultural immersion. The area surrounding Plum Eco House was inhabited by locals and had a few homestays around. Our local Hmong tour guide took us into their home, prepared meals for us, showed us how indigo batik fabrics are dyed and made, and shared many fascinating stories about their culture and life in Sapa. It was a truly enriching experience for the whole family. Rose and Rex also shared insights about their little community in the village, how they help and work with each other is so inspiring, which added another layer of appreciation for the local way of life. Room: The accommodations were fantastic. The room was very spacious, which was perfect for our family. We especially appreciated the special area upstairs for the kids. Having a separate toilet and shower was convenient, and the beds were large and cozy; we could even have one bed each for the four of us. Food and Drinks: The food at Plum Eco House was simply divine. It was evident that Rose cooked with love, as every dish tasted fresh and delicious. Even the peanuts were served warm! We had a few cocktails during our stay, and each one was expertly crafted and thoroughly enjoyed. Guests must try the Banana Crepe, Salmon Hot Pot, Lųròn ga chiên xù (crispy chicken breast meat), cā tím xì dâu cay (spicy eggplant), and nem thit (pork spring roll) (we ordered them twice because they're so delicious).

BrazilWe had an amazing stay in Sa Pa, Rex and Rose were very helpful and friendly! They helped us by booking a trekking and taxis to the city and the Fansipan mountain. The room was very clean and confortable, the breakfast had good options and the restaurant was excellent, with great prices and fresh food, we certaily recommend this place. The location is 25 minutes far from the city center by car/taxi/motorbike, it was great to know the local community. The neighborhood has restaurants, stores, markets and cafes that you can walk to.

United KingdomThe weather but there's nothing our hosts could do about that!! :-)
We had a lovely stay at Plum Eco House, despite very thick fog which obscured the views. Rose and Rex were super friendly and welcoming. The bungalow was quiet and comfy with plenty of space and useful touches like a heated blanket (desperately needed on our stay), a kettle, umbrellas etc. We enjoyed watching the ducks from our window (as couldn't see further than a few metres!) and loved hanging out with Whiskey the dog. But the stand out for us was Rose's food which was the best we had on our whole trip in Vietnam. She loves cooking and it shows. Home-cooked food with creative touches. We didn't eat anywhere else! We especially enjoyed the family meal with them and their friends. We learned a lot about life in the mountains and the tribal minorities. Rose was very helpful in arranging transport from Sapa and booking a bus for us back to Hanoi Airport. Highly recommended!

AustraliaFinding the location of the property was tricky but I think many home stays are the same in this area. The bungalow may do well with some heating during the colder evenings but we had an electric blanket which did the trick!
The property was scenic and quaint. It felt cozy inside the lobby as they had a warm fire place! Rex was so accommodating and dried our wet shoes by the fire all night (after we had trekked for 17km in wet conditions). The bedroom was so cosy and we had a beautiful bungalow with everything we needed!

She is really amazing and really helpful which was far beyond my imagination. She even personally fetch us to the massage place with her motorcycle as the weather was getting cold!
