How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

No elevator
Very helpful Staff, great location (calm even though near main tourist area), and a good room, which had a bit of problems with the night lamps.

The rooms were a bit smaller than expected
The staff was very accomodating and friendly and the hotel was in the center of the old Town which made it very convenient to walk around

Lock didn't work on the room door, there is no lift and the staircase is steep and 6 floors high. This is difficult with a heavy suitcase. There is no lift or emergency exit. There was a kettle but no tea or coffee provided. The wifi didn't work at all in the room on this stay. When we approached the front desk, we were told to turn our device off and back on. It worked perfectly in the reception area so we just had to go down when ever we wanted to access internet.
Location, staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable.

It’s a touch noisy at night and dragging bags upstairs was a pain as there’s no elevator.
Nice place to stay and close to all the action of the old town. The staff kept our bags safe when we went to Halong Bay. Comfy beds.

The hotel was recommended to us by other travellers and we were very satisfied. Great location in old Hanoi city centre, yet as quiet as it can be in the area (4th floor). Particularly the manager Ngau Ha was very nice, arranged long private car tour through northern Vietnam. Fluent French, good English. She is now in addition also starting as Manager in Madelise Adora Hotel, warmly recommended, too.

It wasn’t an issue for us but worth noting there is no lift. The smell from the bathroom was really bad and unfortunately would probably put me off staying in future.
Fabulous location and friendly staff. Nice rooms. Good price and exactly what we needed for a 3 night stay in Hanoi.

The other guests usually talked very loudly when walking up or down the stairs, even at midnight or 6 am.
I stayed here for 7 nights while adjusting to the 14 hour time difference from the USA. The bed was quite comfortable and I slept well. Place is close to numerous restaurants and I often had an egg salad sandwich on multigrain bread for breakfast at the coffee shop just across the street. Staff was very nice and carried my heavy duffle bag up to my room. Staff ordered my lunch for me on arrival and brought it up to my room as I was very tired from over 30 hours of travel time. They arranged airport pickup and my transport to Cat Ba Island and also a taxi for a medical appointment. I plan to return there prior to my flight to Phu Quoc.

Only a minor inconvenience - Very low water pressure in the shower - it was more like a mist, and completely stops if you hold the shower at head height. We were told however that it varies at different times of the day.
Lovely room that was very clean and fresh (no musty or damp smell and I have a very sensitive nose). Staff were amazing, welcoming, helpful and kind. They allowed us to check in early which was very much appreciated because we were very tired after our early morning flight. Airport pick up was seamless. Location is close to everything in the old quarter.

Our room looked nothing like the photos. It was really dark, with a small window looking into a back alley. The shower was very poor and the bathroom, in general, needed a refresh.
The location is perfect and they offer a paid shuttle service to/from the airport.

Good location. Plenty of restaurants and street foods around this area. Walking distance to beer street and, hoan kiem lake. However the distance to the train street is about 2km but its a fun walk as theres plenty of interesting shops and landmarks along the way. The receptionist is very pleasant and helpful. We reach the hotel at wee hours, and the receptionist was kind to expediate our check in time. Overall its a pleasant stay.

It was clean in general but dusty and the bathroom didn’t smell good. My room was in a 6th floor without lift.
Location is great in the middle of the old quarter. But this street is also quieter and you won’t hear much noise.

We had a very bad sleep there, the aircon was noisy and the beds were not very comfy. The bedroom was not very spacious and looked older than in the pictures Note that there is no elevator and we were on the 5th floor
