Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe communal shower did not work well, there was no hot water by the time I used it. The location of the hotel is up a hill from the city centre.
The pods were super comfortable, and had everything I needed for the night (charging ports, bag hooks, blankets, storage space). I felt like my privacy was maintained during my stay. The staff are exceptional, and were very helpful in helping me clean my shoes, and storing my luggage while I was away on a trek.

MalaysiaThe only downside about this hotel is that you need to hike a bit from the Sapa station. There is stairs to go to the hotel, but it was really steep. So it was really challenging when I first arrived as I have all my bags with me walking up to the hotel. There is actually 2 routes you can take to reach the hotel. One was a little bit far but it is less steep, and another is nearer but it was really steep. So the staff suggest to take farther route to the hotel and nearer route from the hotel to the Sapa Station/town.
The mountain view is spectacular especially in the morning. You can easily walk to the Sapa town near the Sapa Station. The hotel was so clean and tidy. It was so calming and match with the environment surround the mountain. The staff was so great, friendly and helpful. When I just arrived at the hotel, they offer me a tea and even after I checked out, and was at the lobby charging my phone, they still offer me the tea. The staff also suggest and give some advice about the activities I can do here. You can ask them if you need any information about Sapa, they will surely sort you out.

United KingdomThe internet disconnected a few times and was slow at times which I understand due to the location so I didn’t deduct any stars!
Loved the capsules! Very comfortable, memory foam pillow and thick blanket (it was very cold in Sapa so it helped so much)! Loved the staff - they were so kind, fun and helpful! Really good vibe! I rented a bike from there, booked a bus to Hanoi and tickets for fansipan! They let me work in a little corner by their office and helped me set up my equipment (I teach online) and they even turned off the music for a bit while I was working - AWESOME PEOPLE!!!

JapanAll sockets of my beds are not working. If I told the staff about it they would have changed my bed but I had my mobile battery so no problem.
I think Sapa Capsule Hotel is the best hostel in Sapa. The staff was very friendly and gave me recommendations for restaurants and took me there on motorbike. There is also a staff who speaks fluent English and offers tours, although I did not end up taking one. The view from the terrace is spectacular. Anyway, my stay here made my visit to Sapa very worthwhile.

NetherlandsMost of the staff don't speak English which is a bit impractical for a hostel. I could not exchange currency. Would be fine, but please remove it from your listed services... Not a social hostel. Seemed mostly empty to me. The steps are a hassle, especially with luggage. Also something to consider if you plan on enjoying nightlife (would probably be dangerous to walk those steps in the dark). No hot water after the first night.
View is nice from the balcony and rooftop garden. Free breakfast (just eggs though). Capsules are comfy enough, multiple light options, power outlets and mirror. Nice ergonomic pillow! Big lockers that fit my whole backpack. Shower pressure is great and bathrooms+toilets clean. Laundry service is good and fast.

AustraliaIt is located on a hill so going back after a day out was a little tiring. If you don’t mind the small trek, the location is otherwise good and is near the main area (i.e. Sun Plaza which is also where we bought our tickets to Fansipan). The capsule itself was alright, cool experience but aircon could be colder.
It was cheap and decent for young or solo travelers. The staff was very helpful with helping us sort out a taxi to the waterfalls and also our bus ride back from Sapa to Hanoi. It was also not fully booked so they let us check in early and check out late.

CanadaMy USB plugs were not working and was quickly switched to another capsule.
Very close to the city center, a short walk with some steps, lots of restaurants and cafes, not far from anything. The hostel is rustic and relaxed, your served hot tea when you return to the property. The capsule has a very comfortable mattress and pillows along with a cotton duvet blanket which will definitely keep you warm on those cooler nights. Reception arranged my return bus trip and we're very helpful in providing your info. It's a hostel but the private cabins make it very private, first time I've tried such a format.

BrazilAvoid having a shower in the morning when everyone else is having it. There was no hot water for me :( I had to have a cold shower before checking out. :(
I've always wanted to experience staying in a capsule hotel. Sapa capsule hostel exceeded my expectations! I had a great night of sleep, it was cold that day, but the cover was warm. It was quiet inside the room. They have boots to rent for trekking, which is handy as the mountain weather is usually wet. The staff is very friendly and smiley, making you feel welcome. Highly recommend.
