Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast is perfunctory, while the resort facilities were limited to a pool, small gym and masseurs on call. When we were there, we were unlucky enough to experience a short power outage (which affected the whole area) but the staff kept us informed throughout.
This stunning hotel is comprised of several well-appointed cabins ranged on a steep mountainside with breathtaking views of the Fansipan hills and Cat Cat village deep in the valley, 10 minutes' walk from Sapa. The rooms (including the loo!) have expansive windows to fully capture the grandeur. The gardens and grounds are meticulously maintained, while staff use golf carts to ferry guests from their cabins to a drop-off point near town where there are many dining options. The staff were obliging and friendly, and we were able to contact them by WhatsApp. This is a superb choice for a restful mountain break and jumping off point for the gorgeous wilderness of northern Vietnam.

VietnamThe property was inaccessible by car due to a road construction. It would have been great to receive this information beforehand. Breakfast buffet could have more European options, as well as options for vegetarians.
Great view, spacious and comfortable rooms with tasteful furniture. Tranquil location.

United KingdomWe stayed here because we heard sapa town was not very nice and so we wanted to be on the outskirts. However when we arrived, we actually realised we quite liked Sapa town, so we would probably stay closer to the centre if we came back. We also felt that for the price there were other hotels that offered better facilities, especially spa facilities which were lacking here. In particular the outdoor pool, though very scenic, is unheated and so completely useless in the cool weather this time of year.
Very nice hotel. Beautiful setting and scenery. A great place to stay as long as you want to be out of the town centre and don't mind the lack of spa facilities.

AustraliaResort is set on really steep hill side so views are great but access to and from rooms is up or down hills. Could be an issue for some people.
Hotel Resort was good with rooms spacious and comfortable. Incredible views from the rooms. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast was good. Access to SaPa town on foot is possible but it is a steep walk to town. Electric taxi cars were easy to get and use. Some of the rooms and areas were undergoing "off season" renovations but building noise was limited to times they stated and as we were out sightseeing it didn't impact our stay.

The rooms were quite luxurious and very comfortable. The pool looked beautiful but did not swim as the weather was cold. Loved the separate buildings for each villa.

AustraliaWe were upgraded to a family room as the rooms we booked were all taken. However it seems we got the only room without a view. Trees blocking everything so that was disappointing. We tried to eat at the restaurant twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch time we were turned away as there was “no bartender on that day” and dinner time the next night we were turned away with no warning as there was a function on all night. No one made us aware of this and we had already come back to the resort for the night and did not want to venture back out again (resort is out of the main town). The function was extremely loud music and karaoke which stopped just after 10 but the party in the parking lot did not. Also, the beds were concrete hard. Have never felt a bed that solid. Overall, felt we could’ve spent half the money on another hotel and got treated a lot better.
The reception/pool area were stunning

Australiawe asked the property to help organise a driver to drive us out to the rice fields and we agreed on a price for a 3 hour round trip. The driver was incredibly unsafe and only took us for a 45 minute drive (although I was pleased because I wanted to get out of that car!) and still charged us the full amount.
Room was beautiful, very clean. Breakfast was fantastic!

PortugalThe bathroom is flooded when we took a shower. The room was cold. The telephone doesn't work and the room was far away to the top of the mountain (a lot of steps). The swimming pool was empty and is not heated. The employees don't talk English or talk very poorly. Overrated - price vs quality.
Near to Cat Cat Village and SaPa center.

New ZealandPhone in room didn't work. The bathroom floor wasn't flat so water from shower went everywhere around the toilet and wouldn't drain. The Hot water took ages to come. The wifi was patchy at times but fast.
Good breakfast with vast range. Helpful workers who overcome the language barrier. Amazing views, just unbelievable and stunning of Mt Fansipan Fast to organise trekking tours and provide advice. Cheap motorbike hire and easy pick up.
