Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLeaving. We were sad to leave.
The environment, ambience, friendliness and helpfulness. We were warmly welcomed and felt like part of the family but with so much flexibility and assistance for getting around Sapa and suggestions for activities. Nam has made a beautiful house and garden that is peaceful and calm. Breakfasts and dinner were delicious and authentic. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit with a balcony that had a fabulous view of the garden and mountains. If you are planning to visit Sa Pa I highly recommend Sapa Garden Bed and Breakfast.

AustraliaNam is a wonderful host who goes to great lengths to make your stay an enjoyable one. He is very helpful with local information, tours and making transport arrangements. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The fireplace that burns in the common area and dining room are a welcome treat to return to after a day out. A variety of breakfasts to choose from and Nam and staff are happy to cook you dinner. The gardens and surrounds are well tended to, and the orchids are a delight to view. A lot of care goes into providing a wonderful place to stay. I can highly recommend it.

United KingdomNam Hong will look after you and make sure your visit to sa pa is exactly right for you. He organises everything in an efficient and kind way that makes you want to stay much longer than you first intended! We would thoroughly recommend staying here. It is a 30 minute walk to the main restaurant area in sa pa but the b and b has a beautiful garden so it is nicer than being in town. They provide dinner for 10 dollars if you don't want to go out or he will order a taxi which is only 2 or 3 dollars or he will give you a lift if he is going out (which he often is as he is always busy!).

We had a very very pleasant stay here. When we arrived late by sleeper bus, the hotel owner offered to pick us up as a taxi from the station. At the hotel our room was clean, pre heated and even had electric bed sheets. Even though it was very late we got help from the owner with booking the cable car tour to Fansipan and a hike through the valley. The next morning we had a very nice breakfast and walked in the beautiful garden, which I am guessing is even more beautiful in spring or summer. Even though the walk to the city center is 20 minutes, that actually offered a nice way to see the surrounding area, which felt safe to walk through. Moreover, there is always the option for a relatively cheap taxi here (either with the owner or a regular cab) if you don’t feel like walking (we did that once). During our last day the owner offered us to stay at his home until our bus to Cat Ba arrived (as we had already checked out), which was really kind. We also got to meet his wife and son which seem really nice as well. The hospitality exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend the place to anyone!

SingaporeThis was my own fault really. I didn't see that the room i booked was on the highest floor. I would have chosen a room on the lower ground because we were travelling as a family and we had quite a bit of things.
breakfast by Nam's mum was delicious. We also opted to have dinner in for one night and it was really good to be eating homecooked food after many days in Vietnam. The produce used was better than whatever we had in Sapa town.

AustraliaNam and his family are such wonderful hosts. Please do not hesitate to book, absolutely nothing to fault. Beautiful garden, quiet location (not too close to the centre but perfect for a short taxi or walk to town). They'll do everything they can to make your stay a perfect one. Will be back if ever we return to Vietnam.

Czech RepublicIf you are looking for a great stay with a touch of nature, this is your spot – vila with a beautiful garden where you can enjoy your breakfast or just relax after the trail. The owner is really kind and helpful – helped us to check in around 2-3 am. The accommodation is a little bit further from the city center, which if no big deal, because the city center is already too commerical and crowded and you will probably spend most of your time driving/walking in the beautiful surrounding natural area. The room was very clean. We would definitely stay here again.

As soon as we arrived our host and his family were very warm and welcoming. They made our room up early for us at no extra charge. The facilities are impeccable and the architecture in and of it's self is worth the stay. No problems with hot water, a nice little balcony, heat lamps in the shower and two free waters each morning. Our room was made every day with fresh towels which was nice. The owner take alot of pride in his garden maintenance. There is an abundance of fish, homing pigeons a few cats and a cool dog. The home is perfectly positioned out of town only two minutes and is quiet at night time. The entire property is fully fenced and gated. Breakfast was spot on and as usual the coffee is top notch. After trolling through hundreds of home stays and hotels we ended up here and couldn't be more pleased. Added bonus the beds are medium firmness and good for western backs. We will return. As a side note I was not prompted to write this and have taken the time because in Vietnam it's hard to find service like this. 10/10 you won't regret it.

Sapa garden is a little oasis of beauty about 2 kilometers outside of Sapa center. The rooms are comfortable and big, (we were in the Kings room with a balcony.) The property offers several breakfast options including eggs, pancakes or yogurt and fruit. They also do dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed a menu of chicken stir-fry, shrimp stir-fry and spring rolls at the property. Much better quality than the dinner we had in Sapa. But the gem is the gardens surrounding the property, they are absolutely stunning. There are several sitting areas to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. In addition the staff is very helpful and accommodating. Mr. Nam Hong can arrange a guide for treks in the area and tickets for Fansipan mountain. Laundry service is also available. All in all a great choice for a visit to Sapa!

RomaniaThis place is a hidden gem of this area 💎 The house is designed very well with attention to details, the garden is fantastic: the pond with golden fishes, doves, beautiful flowers. It’s like a paradise with a classy charm. Special thanks to the owner of this beautiful place. He introduced us to his family which was very welcoming with us. The room was quiet big, with a fireplace. It’s very romantic. The food was delicious. Me and my wife recommend this place to everyone visiting Sapa. Also, it is good for every season.
