Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The food is incredible🤤. You will try a lot of different dishes during your stay. So be sure to ask for dinner and breakfast at least. Internet connection is stable, so the place is great even if you want to work from there. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I will be back for sure

A fellow backpacker recommended staying at Sapa Orange Homestay and we are so glad they did. From the moment we got off our early morning bus they were there at our service. Every meal was amazing!!! (Not included but fair priced) The family dinners were the best part getting to become one big family with all those staying there. They have so many recommendations on things to do from local hikes to a cool herbal medicine bath!

What a wonderful trip! We stayed with Lan and Thuan for 3 nights around Tet and had an amazing time. They were so welcoming, treating us to experience their family celebrations. Lan made some of the best food we had in Vietnam, and the location is very peaceful with even waterfall out back of the property. LuLu the dog was very friendly all the time. Showers were hot and we even had a herbal bath next door which was nice during the colder weather. Overall we loved our stay here , thank you!

NetherlandsWe stayed for 4 days during tet, the Vietnamese newyear. Delicious pancakes or omelets for breakfast. Eating together for the beautifull dinners was special. Had a nice evening eating and celebrating with their parents, relatives and friends. Good vibes all along! We rented the motorbike and drove up to Thôn Lếch Dao. Driving back we took a shortcut and managed to stay in one piece:). Cheers and love from Kasia & Geert

United KingdomWhat did we not like? Lan, Tuan and their family were amazing hosts! We have just had 4 nights with them and they treated us like family. We enjoyed Têt with them and their family, and they were so welcoming. They taught us about their culture, shared traditions, and we met extended family and shared a rice wine or two with them! The food was delicious, their English was great, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Just what we were looking for! The village was small and quiet, but there was a couple of shops for snacks and it seemed that there might be other places (but they were closed for tet). During the day we hiked/ ran and then in the afternoon we relaxed in their garden and played with their children! We were recommended this homestay by my partner's parents and we can see why they loved it!

Czech RepublicLiterally there are no words to describe how special this place is. When you come you immediately feel like at home. All the family is super welcoming and fun. We had great super tasty dinner and enjoyed our time together very much. Room are cozy and comfortable, the location of the house is amazing out of the tourist area so you actually enjoy real local atmosphere. The village has hot springs and just next door is herbal spa. The house is surrounded by orange grove and there is a small water fll 5 minutes away from the houses. But the highlight of three stay are the peple. For us 12 out of 10.

United KingdomI liked everything
This homestay was the highlight of my entire 6 week trip motorbiking the north of Vietnam! I was only planning on staying for one or two nights and I stayed for 8 days! Truly special memories which I will always treasure. Lan and Thuan are amazing hosts - friendly, welcoming, talkative, fun and kind. You will feel at home in their presence immediately. The rooms are basic but cosy, inviting and clean. For the first half of my stay, I was in a room with a balcony overlooking their orchard which has 400 orange trees, and some days I was fortunate enough to receive a glass of incredible freshly squeezed orange juice! For the second half of my stay, I moved to a room overlooking the river, where you can hear it flowing from your bed. There is a private waterfall on their land, a 5 minute walk from the homestay, with a huge pool for swimming in! I told them many times that the waterfall on the land should be the first picture and first sentence on their booking dot com accommodation account! Because it was truly incredible. Strolling down to the river to swim every morning in the most beautiful surroundings imaginable, a real treat. The food here was some of the best food I had in my entire time in Vietnam. Every single night we ate a feast which was completely different every evening, and Lan is an amazing cook. I was honestly blown away by the food, and sitting outside in the evenings with the family was a highlight of every day. There was so much variation at dinner every evening, and they told me that even if I stayed for a month we would eat something different every night! It's an extremely relaxing spot, with an epic view of the mountains from the seating area outside. We had many interesting conversations about Vietnam and local life. They've got two beautiful children, a dog, and some chickens wandering around as well. Each day I would go on hikes or motorbike rides and Thuan was able to give me high quality tips due to the fact he's a tour...

We got the chance to help picking the fruit en food from the garden and trees and help cooking (every night there was amazing food!) the family diners were really nice and we felt welcome in this family. We did a great loop on the motorbike with amazing views, Thuan adviced us a route. Swimming in the waterfall was refreshing and beautiful. Best homestay experience we could wish!

FranceThe dinner was amazing and the hosts were very lovely. We were walking in the area self guided and the host shared his knowledge of the footpaths that aren’t visible on Google maps. Often people try to sell you a guide and say it isn’t possible without one but here they were super helpful. We walked from village to village stopping in home-stays around this area and it was the most beautiful and wonderful experience.

NetherlandsI miss this family! This has been such a good experience, and has exceeded my expectations. Before my stay, I stayed nearer to Sa Pa - I would choose this place over Sa Pa any day. The food.. is AMAZING. Great dinners, with good company and a lot of local flavours I'd otherwise not have tasted. Such a good experience, and also great to be at the long table and spend quality time with the family and other guest. The food alone could be a reason for me to come back, but the welcoming hospitality of the family (who speak perfect English, making it very easy to learn lots of things and share experiences) topped it. 100% better than the tourist-infested Sa Pa (you can go there from this place, especially if you rent a scooter or book a taxi it is easily doable). 100% worth the price (do NOT skip dinner). And 100% a place I will cherish in my memories.
