they took us in a less touristy side of Ha Long Bay, so we escaped crowds of boats and people most of the time. cruise manager Gin was very attentive, friendly, helpful, and funny. The room was spacious and really nice. will definitely come back

Wang was a great travel guide very knowledgeable and humour. Good activities and good five course meals.excleent happy hour and room was comfortable. Enjoyed kayaking, fishing village and cave tour. Highly recommend

We set off from Hanoi around 8am, however with the transfer and lots of waiting around we didn’t actually board the ship until 12.30pm. On the second day, the activities started very early at around 7am, however ended at 8.30am and we had to exit the room by 9.30am. However then there was more waiting around for over 2 hours in a dining area before disembarking. The waiting around makes the trip not such good value. The prices of the drinks on the restaurant menu are ridiculously high (at nearly £30/$40 per bottle for mediocre wine) that in the UK you could buy for around £6/$10 per bottle).

The senior suite and private balcony were excellent as was the cleanliness and presentation. The manager Gin and the staff were great and the scenery wonderful. The bamboo water boat ride was also great and it was nice to see the local folks in their own water houses. The short trip to the cave was interesting. The food on the boat was also excellent and really delicious.

Vietnamese people tend to start their day very early and the itinerary reflects this

We loved everything about this cruise and the staff. The experience was beyond our expectations and every moment was amazing. The food was abundant and tasty, the excursions were so fun - especially the nightly squid fishing and the staff were funny and communicative. We would gladly take this cruise again

Great cabin with balcony, Mr Morning was excellent and very knowledgeable. Cruise was away from busy tourist area. Recommend 2 night 3 day. Day trip kayaking was amazing. Food was lovely.

More information on day trips, and the services available (i.e. what to pack and expect) oboard the day boat, would be very iseful. The plumbing onboard the cruise ship needs attention.

Tom (Cruise Manager) and his staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Maeghan (Manager) of the Day Boat was fantastic, and would make an excellent Cruise Manager. The food onboard was delicious and plentiful.

First off, I felt like a walking wallet. For everything you have to pay, even for water. And it’s not cheap. Basically European prices in Vietnam for everything. In Hanoi you would pay 25k dong, in the cruise 65k dong for a beer. I had some food allergies for which they tried to give me other food. Sadly, my first food on the boat was a cooked through pasta with some corn and a very nasty corn soup. In general, the food on the main cruise boat is really terrible. We had a passable dinner on one night. Often everything is dry, overcooked or even refried multiple times. I personally had the feeling we were sometimes eating old leftovers. In general, they tried to do some fusion with Vietnamese food meets western food. It just completely fails. The day boat food was really, really nice. They should just have that chef/menu on the main cruise boat! Besides the food, the rooms are a bit dated. The fridges don’t work, the door is stuck when you try to go out, we had to force it (luckily we got another room). In the other room the toilet wouldn’t flush. Well that’s much fun, I can tell you that much!

The people on the boat are very nice. Especially the manager Ninh was very nice. We had a lot of trouble (see negative part) with the room and he tried to make it better by giving an upgrade. In general they try to sail to places which are relatively calm (not super many tourist, although it might feel like that if you can’t have something to compare it to). The day trip to Bai To Long was amazing. You get onto another boat for half a day to swim and kajak there. The food on this day boat was exceptionally good. In general, the day program was great. Enough time to do things and also to relax. The room which had a balcony was really nice to have.

We stayed 2 night on the boat so spent the 2nd day on the Day boat for activities on the bay. But the only activity was a 2h kayak ride including spending time on a beach. Nothing else for the rest of the day until cooking class at 17:30. The lady on the day boat even said we should sleep in the afternoon on the boat benches
