How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Absolutely everything! Our favourite part? The staff at Silk Path Boutique Hanoi. All the staff we met went above and beyond to help and look after us. They are such beautiful caring people. You instantly feel welcome and they made our stay in Hanoi so comfortable and enjoyable. To top it off - the location is also perfect! Any time we return to Hanoi... we will definitely be staying again at Silk Path Boutique Hanoi.

The Stay & the staff were amazing. We reached a little early & they helped getting our stay ready for us as early & possible. The staff helped us take note of all the attractions around & even helped us store our luggage while we took a halong bay 2 day tour. The breakfast was well served & very good. Thanks guys.

Probably one of my favorite stays, most accomodating, helpful, and charming staff I've ever encountered. Location was good, on the lake surrounded by walking streets on the weekend; can reach most attractions or needs within 5-20 minutes. Room was great, comfortable, breakfast in the room was tasty.

The only thing was the mattress was a little hard
Size of room superb and wonderful views over the lake. Breakfast delivered to room was great too and the staff were enormously helpful and let us leave luggage for 24 hours.

One pillow was comfortable but the 2nd was a hard foam block, so we just used 1 which was fine. Didn’t try breakfast as it seemed expensive by local standards (we were told 15USD) but lots of great bakeries & coffee shops on the same street or nearby. Our favourite was Hanoi Coffee Station in the old quarter about 15 minutes walk away.
Comfortable & clean, lots of space in the room with additional seating area, small balcony & desk. Favourite thing was the location between the French & the Old Quarter - it is a brisk 10 minute walk around the small & scenic lake to the old quarter but it’s a much more peaceful to stay in this location than in the hustle and bustle of the old quarter itself which we were glad for.

Great location, the most lovely staff (particularly thmuathu) with a unique boutique atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally helpful and attentive, with impressive multi-lingual skills, and helped us out with a number of tours and recommendations for sightseeing. Would 100% come again and recommend to friends.

Would have liked to have been able to have a beer/wine in the hotel lounge but instead went next door to the coffee shop - where staff were super and nothing was too much trouble. Due to the size of the hotel there is no lounge.
Room was quiet and larger than expected with all facilities. Breakfast was ordered the night before and served in the restaurant. Location was perfect - close to the lake and Old Town and lots of restaurants.

The room was small. But all the buildings in Old Quarter Ha Noi are of the same limited space: very narrow, long, and tall.
Perfect location: across from the lake, great for sightseeing and early morning walk. Centrally located with tons of stores, restaurants, cafe, ... within a few minutes walk. This area is turned into a walking street on the weekends. We felt very safe walking around here. Small room with two small windows. The amenities were good, clean room, comfortable bed, strong AC, strong water pressure. Staff was the true highlight: attentive, helpful, polite, and genuinely kind. They tried their best to accommodate all requests, always cheerful, willing to help.

Fabulous hotel with amazing staff who all went the extra mile. I would highly recommend Silk Path Boutique Hanoi. It’s in a great location to explore Hanoi and the Old Quarter. The rooms are very comfortable and the food we had was delicious. Plus, wonderful walking over weekends as they close the roads around the lake. Thank you!
