How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

nothing! we had a room where there was severe drilling noises because construction was happening nearby but it stopped after a day and they did volunteer to move us to another room
the location is fantastic, right along the lake and it’s smaller as it’s a boutique which meant that the staff were very attentive, shout out to Hau and Giang for being wonderful!

The staff was extremely helpful My brother is blind and they went above and beyond to help him while he stayed there. The place was also extremely nice the rooms were super clean.

The breakfast has to be ordered the evening before. But at the same time has the advantage that you can order it to your room without extra fee.
The staff was amazing. Hotel with a very good location. Everything was very comfortable.

The staff were extremely polite and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. There is always a smile on the faces of the staff and they are very polite. There is no better location in Hanoi than this one. All important places can be reached by foot within one or two kilometers of the hotel. It is a lot of fun to attend the weekend fair that happens right in front of the hotel. Seeing Hanoi's social life through this lens is a great experience.

Nothing to dislike about this place.
Right outside Hoan Kiem Lake. Perfect for strolling. Breakfast variety was simple but excellent; they offer Pho in the menu. There's an option to serve breakfast in your room too. This was a bonus point. There are lovely pastry shops just next door. Main shopping square of the old quarter is to the left of the hotel, where as a luxury mall is around the corner on the right. Staff were incredibly helpful.

We are back for another fine stay at the Silk Path Boutique Hotel in Hanoi. Thank you hotel team for the remembrance greetings and the fresh fruit in our room. Good to see the smiling face of Trong again, thank you for restaurant recommendations and the taxi to the airport. Good to meet Linh at check in. We also appreciate seeing the friendly smiling face of Hien during our ample and delicious breakfast. Thank you Chi Yen for the fine laundry service. It could have been cooler in Hanoi! But the air conditioner was wonderful!!
The location was great, right next to the lake. The rooms were really swish - clean, comfortable, spacious, stylish The staff were so friendly and helpful! Just wonderful! The breakfasts were delicious.

Cosy Savvy is a gorgeous Boutique hotel within a short walk to the old city. Our room was clean and comfortable, the rooftop pool had an amazing view and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Tracy who checked us in and gave us lots of tips on Hoi An.

Would be great if they could add a pool on the roof top terrace.
Great location by the lake in the old quarter. They also give you 2 x free items of free laundry a day. Friendly and helpful staff and they make a decent Vietnamese Ice Coffee.
