Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaThe rooms are a tad dusty. There are old curtains and carpets in the room, and everywhere you go, you see dust particles floating around you. Housekeeping didn't really wipe down the surfaces of tables, etc the week we were there, and by the time we left there was a considerable layer of dust on the dressing table and tv cabinet. You can hear sounds from the street pretty clearly throughout the night (honking, beeping, etc) and lots of heavy furniture shifting in the middle of the night (for some reason) - but that didn't really bother us as we all sleep like logs, but if you're sensitive to noise it may not be for you. There are also occasional mosquitoes around the lobby, lift, and inside our room, so the first few days I sustained a considerable amount of bites (over 10 of them). Finally caught two mosquitoes and killed them myself in the room so it was OK after that. This does not affect the fact that the hotel is still great, but if you're afraid of mosquitoes then do get them to perhaps spray the room or something before you go in.
Location is superb. It's a 5 min walk to Starbucks, St Joseph's Cathedral, lots of little shops and eats. It's also a 15 min walk to the higher end areas with LV, Burberry, etc. It's a 5 min walk to the beautiful lake, restaurants, etc. The scenery around the lake is just gorgeous. We stayed for 7 nights, and walked there nearly every day. Staff service is excellent. They're patient, friendly and very accomodating. Breakfast is really yummy with lots of food options (for a boutique hotel, they really have a LOT of food choices). In-house spa service was great. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, and the therapists fantastic.

AustraliaThere was live music nearby one night which was quite loud in our room
The staff were very friendly and helpful! Our room was nice and clean and the breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of options available. We found the location was great, close to the lake and walking distance to most things. The massages at the spa were also great.

ThailandThe walls are thin and sometimes I can hear the guest close their doors. Also the door in the bathroom is glass so in the morning it let light in, at night it's not completely dark.
Great breakfast! So many choices, I recommend to include breakfast. Many different choices and also a la carte. They also surprised my friend with a birthday dessert.

United KingdomAs soon as we arrived at Solaria we were impressed, we were greeted with a refreshing drink and welcome muffins which were cute. The staff were very welcoming and informative about Hanoi and the hotel. The room was perfect for 2 people and we stayed on the 8th floor. Again this was perfect as the restaurant and rooftop bar was just the next floor. We ate at the restaurant and the food and service was amazing. Again, staff couldn’t do enough for us. The roof top bar was my absolute favourite and the music was chilled, we chilled here every night to relax from the hustle and bustle from the streets. I would 100% recommend anyone staying here if you are visiting Hanoi.

DenmarkThe room was spacious and clean. But the unique selling point of this hotel is its receptions team. They went above and beyond what we could’ve imagined and what we’re used to and they truly made our stay the highlight of our trip to Vietnam. BOOK THIS HOTEL and have them arrange tours for you, trust me - you won’t be sorry!!!! BONUS INFO: the location of this hotel is ideal. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone going to Hanoi.

It is only one block away from the lake where there are lots of restaurantss and many cultural things going on around the lake. They close a number of streets down in the weekends at night so children can also walk around and play. We will always stay at this hotel when we are in Hanoi

GermanyMaybe one point. They can make the rooms a bit more subtle. It felt like there are too much furniture in the room. Even though it is a really nice hotel it was the most expensive one we had in Vietnam.
The location is perfect. Really close to the district 1 but not very loud, so you can get a nice sleep after a long day. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They always smile and have a small talk with you and ask about your day your plans. Breakfast was satisfactory.

United StatesThe only complaint I have and it's a very small thing is that It's an older building, so there was no AC in the hallways/elevators.
The staff was amazing. We were regularly greeted by name as if we were regulars. Everyone seemed to bend over backward to welcome us into their facility and make the stay fantastic.
