Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOne thing to note is that you will be a little further out of town than other home stays, so it’s best if you can ride a scooter however the walk isn’t a dealbreaker!
Can’t recommend this homestay enough, Hieu was absolutely amazing. Super helpful in securing the booking g for our group of 5 and arranging for us to be picked up off the bus and dropped at his home. The house itself is beautiful and the view is exactly the same. He booked us mopeds and provided biking/walking routes to explore! His barbecue is an absolute must, his wife is a fantastic cook and the happy water shots throughout make it a great laugh. Hieu took the time to tell us about his family, the local surroundings and traditions of Sapa. We didn’t have time but would have loved to do one of his stone carving workshops given the chance! We also got a lte checkout on our final day which was ideal as we had a sleeper bus to catch Thank you Hieu and your family for such a brilliant stay, you were amazing! If you’re planning on staying in sapa for a few days then this is for sure where you want to be staying!!

United KingdomVery comfortable and accommodating stay. Hieu made things super easy from arranging picking/dropping to bus station, private tours for a very fair price, delicious homemade Vietnamese cuisine for breakfast and dinner. It honestly felt like a home away from home. Also his place has spectacular views of surrounding mountains and rice fields, very peaceful stay.

GermanyHiéu and his wife made my stay perfect. They actually had been contacting me before arriving to get the exact location on the map. The house was very clean. Food is not included but they prepared everything by themselves fresh and deli. Hiéu booked everything for me where I wanted to go and made me an amazing tour to some spots. Price super fair. He also booked my return bus ticket and the cable car ticket to mount Fansipan with a discount. If you come from Hanoi and looking for a quiet spot, this is decently your place to be. The family helped you with everything. I can highly recommend this place

United KingdomOur double room was beautifully furnished, had everything we needed including an electric blanket, and was super clean. It felt really cosy! Great countryside side views and peaceful surroundings made our stay very relaxing. The owners were very welcoming and even invited us for a sleepy tea one night - thank you:) The breakfast soup was so delicious! And so was the Vietnamese coffee! On our first day we had breakfast on the rooftop terrace that has amazing mountain views. The owner is a skilled stone sculptor and we purchased some lovely souvenirs from him and his wife.

They went out of their way to make my stay wonderful in every way. The room was very comfortable, spacious, and clean and the home itself was extremely peaceful and cozy. Enjoyed sipping apple wine by the fireplace and evening chats, delicious meals with the family, wonderful hikes in the area, etc… Hieu even offered to come rescue me on his moped one evening after i had wandered 3 hours far up a mountain road and was having a hard time finding a taxi. my time at the homestay was filled with lots of laugher, adventure, and meaningful human connection. i also left with two of Hieu’s beautiful stone carvings! I will never forget my stay at Stone Paradise Homestay. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

United KingdomEverything. Hieu and his family are great, make us feel like at home, very kind, polite, nice and very helpful people. He gave us a lot of tips good informations to visit Sapa and the villages around. The room that we stayed had mountain view, was big and very clean. We had family dinner with him and his family and it was great to meet them and know more about Vietnamese culture. The house has a terraced where you can stay and enjoy the sun or view the stars at night. We wanted to stay on the countryside, know more about the villages and their history was the best option we have done. Definitely recommend it, we love it and we were sad to go away.

SpainThe negative part (if I have to say something negative) could be the location, that is a bit far from the center of Sapa, but if you rent a bike it's only 10min. Despite this, you are near from Cat Cat Village.
I definitely recommend it. Beautiful, quite and comfortable house to stay. Hieu and his family are so kind and helpful for everything you need. Even you can eat with them and learn more about vietnamese culture. He prepared me delicious coffee and tea. I'm sure that if I come back to Sapa, I'll want to stay with them again!

GermanyNothing,an absolute Perfect stay !
This was our favorite stay in our two-month trip. The family is super nice and helpful. When it got cold, we sat in front of the fireplace with the owner and drank tea. In the evening you can eat traditional Vietnamese food together with the whole family. The mattress is heated and the views are breathtaking in every direction. You must take a look at the Handmade carved Stone Figures! Totally recommended!

It was really hard to leave this Home. Hieu and His family is amazing. We spent 3days here, and from the begenning we knew something special was going on. The house is very nice, the rooms are clean, comfortable and You can find everything you need. There was some work on the road so Hieu and His wife came to pick us up with scooters and took us to the homestay. When we get there we got special tea and we had a nice chat. Hieu gave us many information about Sapa and many advice what to do, and we were lucky to follow them. At the evenings we had dinner together and also we had some homemade drinks. When it was raining we could stay Home and we cooked together, played vietnamese card game… there is not enough place to write about our experience, just go and try it. The House is a little bit far from the Sapa centre, but with a nice walk or with taxi You can get there and Catcat very close.

VietnamI couldn’t say thank you enough, there’s no negative point for this lovely Homestay.
Good location, right next to Cat Cat village, beautiful view and lovely host family. The host Hieu and his family were so lovely and they made our stay the best Homestay experience ever. It’s very late, almost midnight when we arrived, the wife cooked a porridge soup for me when they knew I was sick of food poisoning from Hanoi. The way they cared and treated us made us feel like home and so warm. We joined the family dinner with them every night for 3 nights we staying there (we extended our stay for 2 more nights because of their warmth and kindness). The host gave us a lot of good local recommendations, took us on a motorbike tour around beautiful village roads, we traveled a bit far to experience the Dao’s herb bath which be my mom’s favorite activities there (worth it to try) We really felt thankful and lucky that we could stay at such a beautiful and peaceful Homestay, the room with beautiful mountain view in the morning, the rooftop is a big plus and we spent our chill evening watching the moon and Fansipan mountain ranges, it was amazing!!! Hieu, the host himself is a stone sculptor, we had a good time admiring his works at the lobby and could find the unique souvenirs for our family.

United KingdomAs we didn't drive a moped we were a little restricted. There are two villages within walking distance. Cat Cat village is very touristy and you have to pay to enter. It's essentially a theatrical display. Xin Chai is not for tourists at all and was quite interesting, but there isn't much to see!
The host Heiu was very friendly and gave us lots of tea prepared on a really intricate board! The place is spacious and well decorated with Heiu's stone carvings. We also did a trek with Heiu through the valley (40$ per person) and that was nice for seeing more of the area. The highlight was a small temple that most tourists don't go to, and was hosting a ceremony by the locals when we briefly looked inside.
