Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLack of cooking utensils, the manager helped to rectify this and I believe the website has been updated. With the location far from other eating options, I think the resort needs to reconsider this change of policy.
The space and set up at the resort was much bigger than expected being two storey. The pool and grounds were immaculate.

United KingdomIf you have food allergies/ intolerances/ are vegetarian or vegan watch out with the menu and breakfast buffet labeling. It's not fully correct. We put this down to a language issue, best to ask/ let them know and the staff are happy to help.
Is this paradise? Son Tea resort was our pit stop of relaxation in a busy 3 week tour of Vietnam and Cambodia - and wow did it deliver. The villa and location exceeded our expectations. A small resort nestled in a green mountain side (a nature reserve) with no houses in sight save for Da Nang across the water in the distance and lady buddah lighting up the next hillside. This place felt like ultimate peace and luxury. The villa exceeded our expectations. A large, 2 story villa, beach front with private pool. The clear sandy beach, with palm trees, and no one around save for the few other hotel guests was divine. The staff were kind, helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend it.

South AfricaBreakfast buffet dishes were cold and bland. Dinners at restaurant were luke warm, tasteless, fatty meat and generally expensive for what it was and how it was presented. The food was the biggest let- down to an otherwise pleasant stay.

MalaysiaLocation is a bit far, but we could still go out back & forth to the city. No problem. Easy to get Grab Car although you have to wait for a while. I lost my ring on my 2nd day of stay. (After housekeeping make up our room on the 2nd day). When asked, they said couldn’t find anything. But I am 100% sure it was there. So please be careful with your belongings. No halal food options, but you can opt for vegetarian instead.
Huge room! It was a 2 storey villa. Complete with everything. We loved it so much. Beach was nearly empty. Water so cold, although the sand and beach is not as nice (as other place beach Ive been to) but the peacefulness makes up for it.

Hong KongSimilar to a lot of other reviews, the room is spacious but a bit dated. Loved the cultural bit but not so much the hanging power outlets that come with sparks. The walls also have powder falling off day in and day out. The breakfast wasn't that intolerable as described by others. The omelette station serves great eggs. It's complimentary and it's up to you whether to get to the town for fancy meals. The cost of living there is low. People weren't happy with the meals in the resort likely because they know something better is out there. We didn't see the overpricing issue at all. It's for sure a resort with helpful and kind staffers attending to you 24/7, different from other villas that are managed only by some property managers. Bear in mind that if you're looking for a 2-storey beachfront villa at this price range, this resort is probably the best. The views and that ocean bliss in the morning are impeccable. I still find those dated facilities a reasonable trade-off for the access to the private beach. It wasn't that hard to get a cab via grab. For super early morning rides (8 am reaching the town for a day trip somewhere else) though, do pre-book with some cab driver you run into throughout the trip. Going further down would be intercontinental. Cabs do come in and out, no concerns at all. We can't say the staff has any English problem. Even when I was going for a daycation in intercontinental, those staffers there couldn't communicate well either. To be fair, it's just across the whole city. Be prepared to have some fun in a lot of difficult conversations and that should've been considered part of the cultural exploration in an other country too.
The private beach is breathtaking. The ocean waves in the morning and evening do lift up the travel mood. The staff is helpful. By the time we left, some people were already working on some maintenance. The staffer who maintains swimming pools is friendly. Please don't be intermediated by his attentiveness. He has just been doing his job and trying his very best to keep the leaves away from your private pool. Whenever he sees hotel guests getting closer to their private pools, he gets right there with his net. Haven't ever seen someone that passionate. I really have learned a lot from him. The staff in the whole resort is willing to please and has been trying their best to give you a great experience.

AustraliaThe restaurant was not great. The service and food was not the standard normally available in Vietnam. The food offering was actually quite bad and we sent food back on occasions. Some dishes were not fresh, others just not nice. The spa element of this resort is also not up an running, they can do massage in the room however I would not rate it highly.
