Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe higher up rooms (6th floor) receives noise from the lake ( people dancing very early in the morning).
The hosts were very kind and helpful. The location is in a little alley which makes the rooms that are lower to the ground very quiet.

AustraliaWe had a very pleasant stay in Hanoi. The apartment was a great place for our holiday right next to the lake. The location was great with lots of places to explore close by. The apartment was well equipped and clean. It was great to have a washing machine that was easy to use and plenty of space for drying our clothes. The balcony was nice and gave lots light to the apartment. The noise from the streets was minimal and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Their communication was excellent, just ensure you have cash to pay, they would let us pay on another day during our stay though if we didn’t have the cash ready. We would recommend. Thanks for a delightful stay.

United KingdomThe window in the bathroom was completely see-through and looked into a door and walkway so I felt quite vulnerable whilst in the shower. Like in a lot of places, the water temperature of the shower wasn’t particularly consistent. Nothing major, it was a lovely stay.
A lovely and helpful family who run the place, they even helped carry my heavy bag up the 5 flights of stairs (I was on the top floor). A spacious room and bathroom, good aircon, ideal location, helpful pick up service from the airport. I’d readily recommend this place (if you’re happy to walk lots of stairs).

GermanyProbably the best location in the whole of Hanoi, right on Hoan Kiem lake. You can wake up in the morning and have a coffee in the café next to the lake or have a beer there in the evening. Perfect to start and finish the day. The room was really nice, extremely clean and it really felt more like a home than a hotel. The bathrooms are recently refurbished and very modern. Shower has really good water pressure and the air conditioning was perfect - in 2 minutes the whole room was cold (really needed in humid Hanoi). The wifi is strong and you can even stream Premier league (and other league) football on the 55" TV. Can't really ask for more than that. Lastly, and most importantly, Tuan is the best host that I have had so far on my journeys through Asia. He's very professional and will help you with every need you have and he's also extremely friendly and invited me many times for tea/coffee/beer. On the weekends the street in front of the hotel becomes pedestrianised and there you can find Tuan and his family outside running their secondary sculpture painting business for children so make sure you say hello and ask Tuan if he wants a beer in the evening. I think the answer will be yes! :D Overall I'm extremely satisfied with my stay and it really helped me fall in love with the amazing city of Hanoi. I'm happy to have made new friends with Tuan and his son and the rest of his family. Thank you!

I had a wonderful stay in T Home Balcony! The room was nice, clean and bright. The location was great and the family very helpful and kind. During my stay there were bananas for free in the lobby and there was no problem extending my stay for two nights.

PortugalNoise from people doing exercise in the park very early I didn’t like that I booked one additional night for the 6th floor. All was aligned with the owner and the day I arrived he gave me another room The room in the 3th floor is smaller and the balcony view is not nice
Definitely the room in the 6th floor is the best option. There is no elevator, but it was not a problem for me. Clean, good shower, comfortable bed and good balcony view Localization is good too

GermanyNothing really. The only things one could mention here are that for some the bed may be a bit hard, but for us it was no problem.
Really nice location right next to the Hoan Kiem Lake and around 10 minutes walking from the beer street. From Friday to Sunday the Road around the lake is closed for traffic so it’s quiet on the weekends. Owner was super friendly and helpful. He ordered us a taxi to the airport and waited with us until it arrived. Room is clean and modern.

United KingdomEverything was great
T Balcony makes for an awesome stay during your visit to Hanoi. The room was super homely and the bed was extremely comfy plus you have the added benefit of a Smart TV with Netflix already tuned in and access to A LOT of sports channels. We were there during the Superbowl and were able to watch it in the morning as well as some Premier League games 🤓 The bathroom is a wet room so be aware of that although it does dry pretty quickly. There are flip-flops provided so you can use them if you don't want to get your feet wet. The location is perfect!! You walk out the door and you're right by the lake which is a very buzzing area. You're also walking distance from the Old Quarter. The host and is family were extremely welcoming and super helpful. We were invited to eat lunch with them on Lunar New Year as we were their first guests of 2024, it was a lovely touch and really made our stay memorable. Overall, I 100% recommend T Balcony, it's clean, safe, comfy and in an ideal location.

United KingdomWould help to have some kind of sign outside. Or just tell you that it's next door to the Silk Path Hotel.
Good location away from the noisy bars and clubs, but within walking distance. Not far from the railway station either. Host was good, waited up until I arrived well after midnight. Nice little balcony, which you could just about see the lake from the 4th floor up.

The bed was really comfy and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. In a really good location very close to everything. If we come back to hanoi I'll choose to stay here again.

United States6th floor doesn't have a sofa only a cozy chair. I prefer the sofa since it is larger and easier to relax for two people. The view of Hoan Kiem Lake is not for me because I do not like people looking back at me from the balcony. That is just my personal preferense but others my enjoy other watching them from the lake walkway. The outlets on the 6th floor is arrange in such a way that it is difficult to plug in your electronics or laptop for use. One side is cover by the curtains and the other side is by the door far away from your chair. If you have difficulties walking. You will have to climb up lots of stairs to reach the top. It is definitely a exercise each time you come home. There is no elevator.
Due to weather cannot go on tour. Stayed the next few days before leaving Hanoi. I stayed on the 6th floor. This is the top floor with the best view. You get a little view of Hoan Kiem Lake and of the luxury shopping mall to the right. The day time view is not as nice as the night time view from the side windows. It is a large side window that goes from end to end. The balcony is also larger then the rest because it has a pulley system for lifting luggages that are heavy. The bathroom is layout just a little different then the rest of the other units which are all the same layout. The 6th floor bathroom layout is the best in term of usuage of space because it is the same size. The location of THome Homestay is the Best Location on Hoan Kiem Lake.

United StatesIf you don't like walking up narrow stairs up four stories to the 4th floor then this might not be the place for you. There is no elevator at THome.
Had to stay another day due to rain for a tour package. The 4th floor has two twin beds and the unit is a nice unit. The price is more expensive than the single bed unit. This is a good room for two people who are sharing expenses while traveling.

United StatesThere is no view and the bar on the window make it difficult to open the side window. The price is expensive if you are just a single person and don't need two twin beds.
Still deciding whether to go on a tour to Ha Giang but due to rain had to book a few more days. Unfortunately, 5th floor was booked and had to settle for 4th floor. The 4th floor unit is a two twin bed unit. It is a nice unit but you are lower and closer to the rooftop of other homes. The side window has a bar to prevent people from climbing into unit. The price is 700,000 VND per night. It is expensive for a single person but if you sharing it with another person it is only 350,000 VND per night. That is a good price. The unit has a sofa which make it easy to sit down and relax.

United StatesThe refrigerator is on the 6th floor but it is technically only for the 6th floor unit since it is most expensive unit. The memo pad says you can use the refrigerator on 1st and 6th floor depending on if you want to go up or down the stairs. The refrigerator is a small unit and is outside the room.
The 5th floor was such a good room had to book another night. Plans had change for a tour and wanted to take tour another day due to rain. The outlets are place in the correct area for use.

United StatesIf you have lots of heavy luggages it might be difficult to take up the stairs. There is a pulley system on the 6th floor unit that can be used to get your luggage to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th floors. The 1st floor is occupied by person who manage the property. The pulley system would incovenient those who are staying on the 6th floor if the place was busy and need guest luggage to be hull up to those floor balcony. If you have difficulty walking or handicap or disable person. There is no elevator. This might make it difficult for you to get up to your room.
The 5th floor unit is probably the best unit at THome. It has the WiFi router, sofa, high enough floor for views, and price is reasonable at 560,000 VND a night. I usually don't pay more than 500,000 VND per night in Vietnam. However, this place is located in the BEST LOCATION in Hoan Kiem Lake. You walk out and you are only minutes away from all the tourist attractions.
