Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe homestay is perfectly located with rice paddy fields in front, near the tam coc boating area which is within walking distance and also it is away from the market place so it's a quiet place with mountains behind which is amazing. The owner was so good, she explained the tourist spots and helped us navigate through tam coc region on a bicycle which is available for rent at the homestay itself. Food also was fresh and good. She prepared vegetarian breakfast for us. Overall I loved our time there and would definitely recommend it.

PolandIt is not a complain, but it would be helpful if some simple food as banh mi could be offered. Tam Coc is very touristic and there are restaurants only for tourists, so sometimes it would be nice to eat sth at homestay then go to restaurant.
What a great homestay and the hostess! We enjoyed our stay very much :-) The location is perfect, close to the center, but on the outskirts where the loud music is heard from the distance. Breakfast is very good, prepared individually for every guest. The hostess has very big heart and can help with almost everything. The pool after hot day is good for relaxation. The free bikes help with sightseeing.

Isle of ManWould be nice to close family room door without locking it. Our other room didn’t have this quirk.
Amazing place- highly recommend!! The location is exceptional - about a city block from the hustle/restaurants/boats in town, but feels a world away. Wonderful couple who run the place -provided toddler bike seat and bikes, negotiated with taxi drivers, cooked the most amazing veggie omelet I’ve ever had- very warm and helpful people. Excellent value, great AC/beds/pool/etc.

France- Quiet because not in the city, but as often the case in Vietnam, not very well noise-insulated so you can hear what's going on outside if your neighbours wake up earlier than you. - It would be nice to add a mosquito net above the beds.
- Great and beautiful location, facing rice fields, 5 minutes walk from town center - Very friendly staff - Tasty breakfast (eggs or banana pancakes) - Room very confortable as we had two very large beds. They made it available around 10:30 which was very nice after the night train. - Can ride bikes for free

AustraliaThe “wet room” bathroom was a little inconvenient when staying with people you don’t want to get changed in front of, due to having nowhere dry to keep your clothes for after the shower. If you can keep your clothes in the bedroom and get changed out there, this won’t be an issue.
You will not find a more hospitable host than Nga and her family! They run a fabulous Homestay in the peaceful rice fields, a very short walk or ride to all the town has to offer. Nga helped me with providing the items I needed to wash muddy shoes. She offered to do it herself but I was happy to do it. She also helped with taxis and keeping us comfortable and dry from the rain when we had a late train to catch. Free bicycle use was so great, as we rode to everything we wanted to see - Trang An, Bich Dong Pagoda etc. Only caught a taxi to Hang Mua because it was raining too much to ride through the muddy rice fields again. Breakfast is huge and amazing. Homemade goodness from the heart. And served on the rooftop with incredible views. Fantastic place! Thanks to Nga and her family.

PolandEverything was perfect…more than perfect! I cant desribe how happy I am that I stayed in this homestay. The Family is incredbily nice and the lady that owns the place is pure angel. She helped us with everything and recommended great place to eat, what to see, do, where to tank motorbikes etc. She also booked for us a sleeping bus to Hoi An, and she arranged a man that took us from the home stay and dropped off at the bus. We didn’t have to wait somewhere like other people, we were just waiting at home stay and could take a shower and eat/drink something. Moreover, I was going through a food poisoning when I was there (I ate something bad on random restaurant) and I got took care of like I was in my own home! Lovely lady prepared a perfect rice soup 3 times for me because that was the only things I could eat. I felt so much better after! Also the tea with ginger and honey - also delicious and a cure for my stomach. Staying there was so special and I will remember it always! I might also say something about the location - also perfect! We were surrounded by beautiful landscape and we were 5 minutes walking to the center of the village. Room was specious, clean and got everything you needed! AC worked really good as well. Ohh I almost forgot… breakfast!!!! The family serves fresh and mouthwatering breakfast. I loved the most fresh juices and amazing banana pancakes. I was so sad I couldn’t eat it on our last day due to my stomach problems. Overall, I recommend this place to everyone! I actually think i might need some time to say goodbay for real to beautiful sunshine homestay and nature of Ninh Binh so I could enjoy Hoi An, but we just got to our hotel and all I can think about is sunshine homestay!

GermanyI usually don't write reviews but this Homestay was just so lovely that I couldn't go without. The rooms are clean and spacious, the location is in the middle of a beautiful field just outside of Tam Coc village and there is a rooftop terrace for breakfast (try the banana pancakes). However, the best thing about our short stay was the owner: she was super friendly and genuine, gave us tips on how to get around the area, did our laundry for a small fee, allowed us to rent bikes for free on our check out day until the evening, and even offered to prepare water for a shower before we leave for the night train. We wish we could have stayed longer and really hope to come back here!

United KingdomStunning setting for a home stay in the peace and quiet of the paddy fields and karst landscape but only a ten minute walk into the centre of Tam Coc. Our room was beautifully clean and so comfortable, in the pretty garden area. The owner of the homestay looks after you like her own family, cooking delicious breakfasts and is so friendly and helpful. We simply did not want to leave!
