Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsHost was really friendly, offered a lot of help booking tours and bus tickets. It is also possible to rent a scooter, which is very handy since the accommodation is a bit further from the centre. The view of the homestay is amazing! You can see the ricefield from your own room. Breakfast was really good as well. Would recommend this stay to anyonr visiting Sapa.

If you dont sleep well, bring some earplugs. There are hen & roosters around and they are quiet loud early morning :-D
Lovely Location - out of the crazy city center, beautiful nature around and view. But not for everyone. We rented a scooter which was great and just about 5-10 minutes ride to the center for a restaurant. Very kind owners - the family was very helpful. The owner helped us with the itinerary planning which was very useful and gave some tips & advices. Beautifuly decorated and clean room. Renting scooter on site was very helpful.

United KingdomThe steps down to the rooms were extremely slippery, I understand it can be a rainy climate but it felt very unsafe going down the steps with luggage. No heating apart from the electric blankets, first night out room was freezing!
Surrounding area is nice with good views despite the weather being a bit rainy. Also, I liked the decor inside and out. The family were really friendly and helpful; they helped book a taxi for us and even made us a simple breakfast before breakfast started the day we were leaving as we had to leave early…both days we had breakfast it was very good, pancakes with banana and the next day , fried egg and toast. Just enough space in the room. Towels were provided and replaced during our stay. Very comfy bed with duvet and a heated electric blanket - when our room was freezing the first day it was brilliant - note the weather was cold and rainy this day so maybe affected the room temperature.

SwedenNothing to comment on.
Great location with a beautiful view. The rooms and cute and they even have electric mattress warmer for cold nights. The breakfast was good and they coffee great. The host is super kind and helps out with whatever we needed. The place is not very accessible without moped or taxi, it’s too far from Sapa to walk(and way to steep). Not a problem with moped though, which we rented through the hotel.

CanadaThey were the kindest person I met in vietnam. So helpful and cute . They always try and speak with us since they want to improve their english. They went and got a pizza for us, they called a taxi. they went above & beyond for us ! The mattress is so comfortable ( I don’t know why this comments keeps coming back in the review that’s it’s too hard) it’s not, it’s actually perfect with the heated mattress. It was so hard to get out of bed haha ! also, the view is just insane ! you should definitely go there while in sapa. you can walk , rend a motobike or taxi to go downtown is really not that far

AustriaThe rooms are lovely, very simple, but nice furniture, stunning views, very quiet (no traffic) and really clean! Lin is very helpful, an excellent cook and she takes care of her guests. I can really recommend this farmstay. In addition it would be very nice to have a kettle in the room, especially cause of the low temperature.

AustraliaA kettle in the room would have been nice, likely we could have had one if we. asked. Enjoyed the Vn drip coffee at breakfast and that was probably enough caffeine for the day. These mountain areas have a lot of dogs and a young dog (not sure if it was a live in, might have been a neighbours) kept trying to give playful nips at the back of my legs. I know the Vn gov has done widespread pet vaccinations in Sapa and this dog seemed perfectly healthy, but I was glad I had had my rabies shot before coming. Not really a negative but be aware this guest house can only deal with cash.
Quiet location away from the main tourist stay area overlooking a valley yet only about 25mins walk to a major handbank and the market of Sapa.where the Hmong and Dzao come in to sell produce. The rooms feature Polished laminate floors and plenty of hot water. The Black Hmong that own this place are relatively well off having a tractor rather than a buffalo, but still weave hemp fibres for making clothes. If you have a chicken dinner here chances are that you passed the chicken in the garden earlier. Later checkout than many places and quite flexible.

GermanyThe bed was very hard. The breakfast was quite small and mainly the same: soup - unfortunately instant -, brea&meat, banane pancakes.
The people there were very friendly, interested and supported us. They offered us a warm soup in the arrival night, motorcycle rental was good - with bikes, that worked well -, we used the laundery service and were satisfied. The view was great!

ItalyThe host was very kind to us and always available, she cocked us breakfast even if out of the timetable. The room was nice with an amazing view and the beds were very comfortable (one of the best sleeps in our trip). The location on sapa valley left us without words, and since it was 1km from the city center it was quiet all the time. She also let us leave our bags for two days when we were away in a rural village.

IndiaActually nothing. But yeah, some people might find the approach to the place a bit upsetting if the travelers are old in age.
Link is such an amazing host. The place is bit offbeat away from the main SaPa town but pretty much in the reach. Be ready to walk down hill which may get slippery at times when it rains. Overall a great place, nice hosts and I would surely recommend.

Austria** Very hard matress ** We wanted to start earlier in the morning and had to wait very long for the breakfast (so breakfast from 7am in the morning on don't work) - we told the staff the day before if it's possible to get breakfast early enough to be able to get an early bus to Bac Ha and they said yes but in the morning the came late ** it was quite far to everything if you come with bigger luggage its very far and taxis are really expensive so you walk quite far ** staff didn't even ask if we need a taxi to go to Sapa Bus station or any help - not very Guest friendly, usually we get some help by organizing anything - also no good help for organizing a bus to Bac Ha and we were told the wrong bus time (there are many buses going to Bac ha, not just one)
** Peaceful Accomodation surrounded by the nature ** nice rooms with nice decoration (not too much which looked great) ** romantic lights over the bed ** price was good

IsraelAmazing! Super recommended 🤩 I can't emphasize enough how wonderful our experience was. Firstly, the place is stunning with an unreal view! The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and clean with an amazing view! But most wonderful are the owners! Wow! They helped us so much! The went to change money for us because we were stuck. Later they help us to understand where the bus will pick us and took all our luggage to the bus stop and waited with us 🤩 We felt very secure and cared-for and we will always cherish it! Thanks 😊

AMAZING views, super friendly host, arranged early check in, host offers to rent a motorcycle/scooter (if available), arranged a group trekking tour for us, arranged taxi pick up from the hotel, very responsive in getting the ant problem resolved (see below), quiet area (except for some animals in the morning), well equipped rooms, all amenities provided, very good price
