Our only regret is that we didn’t spend more time here. Super clean room in an extremely stylish and cozy house. The location is as perfect as it gets — very relaxed and quiet area just a few minutes away from the Royal Citadel. On top of everything, our hosts helped us immensely by literally organising our day tour around Hue — from car and boat transfers to food and sight recommendations. Fully recommend!

Nothing. I couldn’t afford it as solo traveler but found another to share. But you have to like each other as it’s one bed and one blanket 😅

Looks and feels like a fancy hotel. Big shower. Comfy bed. Within the old quarter. Host wasn’t present cause of private issues but was reachable any time. Very nice. We came with the overnight bus and could come and leave our luggage at 7am. Even could take a shower in their privat bathroom or hang in the living room.

Beautiful room! Lovely hosts. The location can be a pro or a con depending on what you are looking for. Very close to the citadel and Imperial Palace, but quite far from the main drag/new part of the city. I liked the location, quieter, local restaurants with very few tourists. No issues getting a Grab ride.

Whilst the homestay is lovely, the location is maybe a little strange (and hard to find, even with Google Maps). There is no signage on the Homestay so make sure you've taken note of the pictures of the house from Booking.com. We found the local area slightly lacked any mini-market style shops large enough for basics, and it's a decent 30min walk into the new town area (majority of restaurants and bars), even though it's only a 10-15min walk to the Imperial City entrance.

Pleasant homestay on the 'Imperial City' side of the river in Hue. The room and bathroom are very modern and have been decorated with nice taste, and the family that runs the homestay are very friendly and helpful, arranging taxis and tours for us. It's very much a combined entrance onto the downstairs floor of the family home, just as fair warning - didn't bother us at all but this has a very genuine homestay feel in that regard.

Don’t be put off by the surrounding area! we struggled to find it by taxi but once we called the host he directed the driver easily.

The hosts are a lovely family who helped us with ideas of what to do and where to eat in Hue! Their home is really comfortable and clean.

We had come to stay as we weren't feeling well enough to travel so spent the day in bed and it was quite noisy at times due to the nature of it being a family home and then again in the morning as everyone got up and the house was cleaned for the day however we did still have an overall peaceful stay and were able to rest and recuperate. It is also a little difficult to find the property as it is a bit hidden with no signs - if you come from the side with the lake/pond then you need to go down the road to the kings platform structure. Once there turn right and walk over the grass/path to the far corner where this lovely property is tucked away! (We ended up phoning and it was answered straight away)

The room was clean and well presented with a huge glass window looking out over the grass which was lovely. Our hosts were super friendly and welcoming and helped arrange our onwards bus as well as giving us an excellent bakery recommendation!

The homestay is just amazing, outside of the busy Hue in a real family friendly neighbourhood. The owner Binh and his wife helps with literally everything - local tips and tricks. The house is extremely clean and modern and perfect for a shorter stay, always happy to come back!

Although the location was conveniently close to the Imperial City area, it was somewhat isolated from other attractions and lacked nearby ATM machines. The homestay itself was fantastic. Excellent place.

The Purple Hue Homestay in Hue is an excellent place to stay. The owners are incredibly friendly, offering plenty of recommendations for places to visit and delicious food to try. The accommodation is delightful, impeccably clean, and matches the advertised pictures perfectly.

Not really a problem but good to know: homestay is not easy to find but you will receice a google maps link. No shops next to the place but very near and easy to reach to get coffee in the morning (200-300 m walking distance)

This homestay was amazing! Not only was the room very spacious and clean, but the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. As locals of Hue, they had great recommendations on what to do and where to eat. I really enjoyed my short stay in Hue and would definitely book this accomodation again if I were to visit Hue again.

Beautiful spacious room, good walking distance to the imperial city. The highlight of the stay was how friendly and hospitable Tinh and her family were. From recommending places for food to organising motorbikes she was on hand for all queries and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed hue. They were especially helpful when my partner was unexpectedly unwell-allowing much later checkout so he could sleep, helping us find pharmacy, taxis etc. Thank you so much!

Beautiful homestay run by a beautiful family. In the old town, close to imperial city, many good restaurant and cafe choices in the area. The hosts are amazing, we were welcomed like family. Binh had many good recommendations for things to do. We really loved how peaceful this part of the city is, away from the hustle and bustle. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Tinh and Binh.

Wonderful homestay, warm, welcoming hosts who made us feel part of the family. They helped us arrange a car trip to the kings tombs and advised us about visiting the Imperial City. We much preferred being based in the Old Town which has charm and plenty of great food spots. You can easily get a taxi into new town if needed. We liked the change of eating breakfast out and she gave us great recommendations for local noodle and coffee shops. We’d certainly be back!

This is our second stay at The Purple Hue and we loved it as much as last time. It is a special treat to stay in this beautiful house with this wonderful family.
