Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceI wish they had a bar or a living room where we could hang, as a solo traveler I was, well, solo 😅.
Perfect location, really tasty local restaurant right outside the door and the lake is right there as well. I had a top pod and it was really comfy. Clean bathroom with everything you need, and nice family running it

FranceCheerful staff! Clean bathroom and capsule bed. The privacy granted by the design of the capsule beds is big comfort. The dead end street where it's located is fool of local food stalls and restaurants. Great location!

Sri LankaThe location was great, there is a very inexpensive but quality restaurant down the alley where the hostel is located. The set up is very well designed, you get a large and totally private space with a fan system to keep the Aircon circulating into your bedroom. Fresh towels, clean bathroom and excellent air con The owners seem lovely too.

United StatesThe beds on the bottom bunk were VERY hard. That was my fault as I requested a bottom bunk. The tops were softer. The hot water took a while to heat up for the shower.
The location is EXCELLENT. For those saying it’s down a seedy alley, it’s really not. There is a Gucci Store and Louis Vuitton right around the corner and you can see the hostel as soon as you enter the alley way. The pods were huge and private and secure. Bathrooms were clean.

GermanyThe bathroom was not as clean desired. The ceiling of the bathroom was moldy. The color of the ladder was pealing off. The elevator was slow.
I could leave my luggage at the reception even after checking out. The capsules are spacious. Washing and drying for 100K. Enough towels. Fast wifi.

United KingdomI had to leave really early in the morning (5am) and the front door was locked (which is great and made me feel very safe) but I did have to wake up the owners to let me out. Not necessarily a negative, I just felt really bad for them. Otherwise a great stay!

ItalyThe staff could not really speak English At nights there were no warm water in one of the shower The hostel is locate and the end of a short narrow dodgy road but it’s alright
It’s actually a capsule room hostel where you get your own cabin with a double size bed, slippers, towels and toilet complementary. You also got a large locker under your bed. The capsules were amazing, you got lot of privacy and room. You share two restrooms between 6 people and they are kept clean. The hostel is very close to the Opera House and the lake where lays most of the old quarter lifetime of Hanoi.

United StatesThe only downside is that there isn't really a common area, so if you need to take phone calls or do work it can be challenging late at night/early in the morning. The location is a bit hidden, but the Google maps marker is pretty good. The whole alley is labeled with the address, so look for the number on the street food vendor's awning and walk to the end (great food btw). If you want to be picked up for tours, I found it easiest to tell them to get you at the famous Kem Trang Tien ice cream store, which is right next door to the hostel.
Super clean, super spacious and private capsules. Everyone is not exaggerating about how big they are. There's also lockers but the capsules are so big and also lock so you don't even need the locker. Staff are super friendly and willing to help out. Laundry on site is 100k which is a bit above laundromat average but still reasonable and worth the convenience. You're also in the French Quarter, so things are much calmer and quieter than the Old Quarter. That's what I was looking for, so I strongly strongly recommend. You're still walking distance to the Old Quarter if you want to visit for food, sightseeing, etc. There's also lots of nearby bus routes so you can easily access West Lake, Trung Hoa, etc if you want to see more of the city.

BelgiumThe mattress was very hard, even for us and we're used to the hard mattresses in Vietnam. At least the bottom one where we slept. We found out when we checked out that the top bunk was much better.
Located in the middle of Hanoi, only 2 min walk to Hoan Kiem lake and a 10min walk to the old quarter. Quietly placed in a small dark alley off the big street. The alley has several small local restaurants which is nice to walk past during daytime. At night it can feel a bit dark and unwelcoming but the hostel is right at the end of the alley and very visible, so it didn't feel unsafe at all. The rooms consist of 6 very big pods which have good lights and hangers for clothes plus a small shelf. They were so big we actually slept in one and used the other for our luggage. They do only book one person per pod though. It is a good thing as otherwise it would be crowded for the bathroom. The bathroom itself felt very clean and had a good shower. They have new and clean towels available in the room every morning. Laundry is available. 100k for one machine, washed and dried in 4hours.

United KingdomI can't complain since I loved my stay at this property, but you should be aware that on weekends it get's quite busy on the main road. Despite this, the property is down an alley, so there shouldn't be any issue with noise or whatnot.
The property's very centrally located - close to the smaller lake in town - and thus within walkable distance of other attractions in Hanoi. I stayed in one of the dorm rooms and I liked the way the beds - actually capsules with sliding doors - were arranged, thus guaranteeing privacy.
