Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe room was extremely damp and cold. The bed was wet and cold, our clothes became very damp. The floor was always wet and very slippery, one of us slipped over. The hot water was not working at all and we kept having to ask the staff to turn on the hot water, which was either freezing cold or boiling hot. No floor towels were provided for the wet floor/shower room and our towels were not changed over 4 days. We were very unhappy in the damp cold room.
The staff were very kind and friendly. Helped us quickly with any issues. Breakfast included is a nice touch.

So many things to like. The host is amazing!! Very friendly, great English, organized our transfer from Tam Coc door to door, helped with a day of cruising and our exit transportation. Scooters for rent, breakfast available (although we didn’t eat it as after being in Vietnam for so long I needed some variety). The coffee wasn’t great, not sure what was going on there. Laundry service is available and inexpensive. Now for the reason on the score of 7. The room was damp! Like all the time. We had to get a 2nd key and keep it in the slot to allow the A/C to run 24/7. The hot water was practically non existent (had to ask each time to turn on our water heater which is frustrating when you attempt an early morning hot shower on a cold day). The wifi is crap. Like literally crap. They only clean your room if you ask. We stayed a week and when they “turned” our room they didn’t actually clean it, just made the bed and gave us new towels (but left the wet mat in the bathroom). Its a great value for where you are, the bed is comfy and the host is amazing but the cold showers, damp room and lack of wifi can’t bring the rating up.

IrelandThe cleaning cart was left on the landing outside the rooms on our floor from when we woke up on day 1 and checked out the next day, our room wasn’t refreshed or cleaned and we realised as our key card wouldn’t work that the master key to all the rooms was just left sitting on the cleaning cart, meaning anyone could walk by and pick up the master key having access to any room. This led us to being quiet uncomfortable and blocking our door with suitcases. We also got laundry done, having moved on to two new locations since then we realise it’s quiet expensive @ 100k per kg, in the next stop stops we’ve been too it’s been 40k and 30K per kg so maybe hold off if you can

NetherlandsDespite of being able to check-in earlier which we are grateful for after a 12h bus, bed sheets were not changed-clean. We found out at 10pm when we went back to sleep and as there is no one in reception, I didn’t want to bother the receptionist (who previously told us to text him in case we needed sth). He also advised on the building next door renovating works from 7am-6pm and he added that shouldn’t be a problem since we were about to spend our days out of the room? -they started 6.15am. Once we were down for breakfast, I told him both and he changed our room. Again bedsheets seemed like not changed-clean, so we used our own ones. On our last day-night, flush stopped working. Breakfast could be improved; eggs looked seriously disgusting, sausages are terrible too. So you end up having white bread toast with butter and banana. And last but no least, again issues to pay with credit card, second time in Vietnam we are told the terminal is broken. We finally sorted that out by transferring the money.
Mattress and pillows are comfortable. Location is good as you are about 10 min walk from the center so it’s quiet even if there are restaurants around…

ItalyI found a cockroach in the toilet, the breakfast was free but there was no option. They gave us scooters that were more expensive than all the others in the island and also kinda broken.
