Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe host did not seem very responsive, also we needed to pay at the property, but it was self check in and then the host gave us a time he/she was going to be there and we needed to be there too to pay, which was at the middle of the day. Not very convenient... We eventually left the money in the key box.
The location was amazing! Also the interior was nice.

NetherlandsThe door was (not see through) glass. The lights in the hallway were on so there was always light in the room at night.
Stayed two nights. First night we arrived at night, we had an easy self checkin (only thing was that we used the wrong door but a lady that lived there helped us). Second night i had to go to the airport, someone from the coffee shop downstairs helped us to get a taxi. Room was clean and a very comfortable bed.

United KingdomThe only minor issue was that there was a bit of mould on some of the walls and very slightly dirty in places. But overall it was lovely.
Brilliant room, brilliant location in the Old Quarter, the host is a really helpful, friendly, lovely person. The rooms are above the Tornado Coffee shop which serves the best coffee in Hanoi for sure. The staff in there are so sweet and kind. The lovely lady even matched the coffee mugs to our outfits!

CyprusThe toilet door doesn’t shut (the lock is put backwards), the entrance door is a bit tricky to manage but doable. The batteries in the AC remote were low and AC barely responded. The fitted bedsheet kept coming off. No major issues to complain about though.
Unbeatable location on a walking street (though no taxis can get in). The room entrance is through a coffee shop, so it’s safe because there’s always staff downstairs (and they have good coffee too). There’s toiletries in the bathroom, towels etc… good WiFi. For this price in the center of Hanoi, it’s the perfect place

United KingdomWhen we visited the wall fixing for the shower head was missing so we either had to hold the shower head or carefully balance the shower head to take a shower. The door to our room had windows that looked directly into the stairwell which let a lot of light through the bedroom. Some facilities were tired (lamp with no lead, fridge that was dripping, etc).
Excellent location could walk to all the main sights in less than 30 minutes. The bed was also comfortable and the room had a nice style to it. The coffee shop downstairs provided a great location to read a book and watch the inner workings of a street that contains lots of shops, restaurants and accommodation.

GermanyShower is very small. You can't really open the windows blinds if you want privacy. Plan your payment ahead if you don't wanna delay your checkout since there is no reception.
Location is great, in a side street that has many cafes and tourist agencies but was quiet at night. Check in is very easy with a lockbox. The workers at the cafe downstairs which you go through to enter were always friendly. Communication with the host was quick using WhatsApp. The room has a cute design and nice vibe.

United StatesCould have been a little cleaner. Just a heads up to other people, you access the rooms by the staircase in the back of the coffee shop.
After traveling around Vietnam for 1.5 months, I believe this might be the most comfortable mattress in Vietnam. The room was cute, too.

IndiaThe property was much more of a home stay/Airbnb vibe than a hotel. No front desk, just self check in with a key code and no staff on-property. Not bad, just different than expected. The balcony was about 6 inches wide, so barely standing space, wouldn’t necessarily call it a balcony. The shower in our bathroom also didn’t have a place to hold the shower head, so our baths were all by hand.
Great location! Easy to walk everywhere in the old quarter. Lots of good restaurants and street food nearby. Phượng was super responsive to all of our questions and messages. She booked us a lovely day tour to Ha Long Bay and taxis to and from the airport.

AustraliaBathroom is very small, specially the sink. It is located on an active street so it can get loud some nights.
The room was really funky and it felt homely. Room was very clean, aircon working fine plus fan. Netflix on the smart tv was a plus (you have to connect to your account tho). Great location and self check in.
