Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere were some geckos & an occasional roach in our room but that’s goes with staying in the tropics.
The entire staff was fantastic. Most of them live in the nearby Eratap village and take great pride in their work. Pascal, the manager, was fantastic. When Vanuatu Airlines never put our luggage on the plane ( along with 41 other pieces) she was quick to followup with the airline and arrange for a ride to the airport to pick up our Luggage. If you are flying to Vanuatu- Fly any airline but Air Vanuatu. We had boarding passes to Fiji for our return flight. When we got to the airport, we found out the flight was cancelled with no notice. They put us up at a local hotel for the night, ( after 3 hours of dealing with their service desk)squeezed us on the next day flight - I’m sure someone else got bumped off, and never paid for the extra 2 nights we had to pay for because we had missed our connecting flight that only goes 3X per week.

AustraliaThe moody front desk lady at reception i think her name was Leaha? She made us feel uncomfortable to ask questions and was reluctant to smile.
The food was outstanding as well as the restaurant staff and of course the location. We enjoyed being able to be taken out to the various reefs for snorkelling etc. NYE band was brilliant as well as the fire dancers on another evening. It was a bonus to have the use of bikes and kayaks. Plunger coffee available in our villa.

AustraliaNothing! The prices in Vanuatu generally are not cheap for tourists and this resort is no exception. But the food, drinks and service were awesome so we didn’t care.
Everything! Stunning quiet remote resort away from any noise and light at night. Resort bus goes into Port Vila each morning (free) if you want a town fix! Beautiful rooms each with a private beach front area. The staff are wonderful, great resort activities and we loved our boat trip to Castaway island. Snorkelling, kayak and SUP anytime at the lagoon - just help yourself! Great little restaurant overlooking the beach, we dined on the sand. Food is westernish but lovely, nothing really traditional. Great cocktails! Tip - bring cash and change it the money changers (really good rate) and pay large bills with direct transfer (most places have Aus accounts) avoid 3-5% credit card fees!

Great location, food and staff. Stunning location. Very easy to access other activities outside of the resort. Local tours and resort activities were interesting and water access a dream.

AustraliaMenus could do with a change more regularly. Could get a little bored with the same food, Through we managed to make a few tweaks to the menu items to suit our needs.
Loved the Villa we were in Deluxe Villa 2 for 8 nights. Perfect positioning. Very private, fresh coffee and plunger. Outdoor shower. Breakfast 5 star and included. The itemised bill coming out each day so we could sign off and know what we spent. Everything. Snorkelling out front and at castaway private island was superb when the sunny and not too windy.

AustraliaWeather but that is obviously beyond the control of the resort!
Our villa was spacious and comfortable. Lovely back garden fronting the beach with beachside cabana. Private outdoor courtyard with shower accessible from the garden and the bathroom. Separate bath and shower was welcome. Separate and spacious living area to stretch out and relax. On one day we had a picnic prepared for us and we’re taken to a private island off the resort for swimming and snorkelling. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe food was slightly disappointing. We found the food to be quite bland and there weren’t many options. You’re forced to eat at the resort to a certain degree as you’re quite far from town. Some of the meals were nice but largely hit and miss.
Coral reef at the hotel is great. The staff are so friendly. Pool was beautiful too. Genuinely an unforgettable week.

AustraliaLocation, rooms, restaurant/food = perfect. The staff and service made our stay even more enjoyable. Snorkelling, island trips, tennis, spa - we could not want for more! Communication from the reservations team was prompt & informative. We arrived 1 week after 2 cyclones hit the island. Cannot recommend Eratap enough - perfect to escape, relax & enjoy life.

AustraliaWhat an amazing resort to stay at! We went for our honeymoon and just wow!! The location was great, and the free services such as snorkelling and kayaking on site were even better, but the staff were fantastic. Cannot fault this place at all, if we ever come back to vanuatu we will be staying here again.

AustraliaThe breakfasts were great but lunch and dinner could be hit and miss. The food is pretty good for Pacific standards but some dishes were honestly not ok. The menu itself was pretty good, but the execution was lacking. One night we ordered sirloin steaks and had to send them back because they were so tough our knives couldn’t cut them. Another night I ordered grilled tuna which was over cooked to the point of not resembling tuna. It was the only thing that I could fault and I hope they work it out because everything else was fantastic. Given the remote location of the resort, it’s not that easy to have dinner elsewhere as it’s a half hour drive in to Port Vila but can be arranged. The resort runs a daily shuttle bus in to Vila so you could have lunch there if you wanted. But honestly, the beauty of this place is staying out and forgetting the outside world for a while.
The staff could not do enough to make our stay delightful. The room was fantastic and I have never snorkelled such a vibrant reef straight off the beach in front of our bungalow. If you want to switch off and immerse yourself in snorkelling, kayaking or surfing, you won’t find a better place than this.

AustraliaEratap Beach Resort is set in a beautiful location, having access to the whole peninsula. An amazing coral reef for snorkeling is on one side while a lagoon perfect for kayaking or paddle boarding is on the other (all equipment provided by the resort). The villa itself is very comfortable, clean and has everything you could ever need. We looked straight onto the beach and watched the sun set from our private cabana. The restaurant offer a great breakfast and more fine dining meal options at night. Despite being fully booked, it felt very quiet and private.

Everything. All the other good reviews pretty much say it all. The daily activities are a nice touch. Close enough to the main airport to make things easy, but feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Excellent snorkeling. If the budget allows it, highly recommend the private pool villa option.
