Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Australiamarine sanctuary wasn’t what it once was, or reported to be. Lack of fish and beautiful coral. Breakfast was below average without any fruit, and cordial instead of juice. One two slice toaster. A lot of unavailable food items on menu. Service after ordering cocktails or coffee slow. But service like getting ice after 8pm for a drink in the room was none existing. Shower in one of the bungalows flooding with water and wouldn’t drain. Ants everywhere in bathroom even after daily service. Coffee plunger not working properly, letting grounds in front of bungalows be covered in weeds, deck boards on some bungalows very rotted and unsafe. Unexpected charge for transfers from the airport never was a charge mentioned via email. $2000vt per person is excessive.
Location was beautiful. Staff where friendly. The night time main meals on special board were delicious.

AustraliaShared shower block needs a deep clean. There is no table for the kettle which has a short cord. It needed to sit on top of an upside down basket on the floor.
Diving and friendliness were great. Bed was comfortable and bed linen was clean. My room had a lovely view.

AustraliaRooms are run down and need work, but private and not a crowded resort which is nice and quiet. Food very average. A lot of things on the menu not available. A second toaster for breakfast would go a long way!
Staff beautiful. Location awesome - fabulous snorkelling out the front door. Good entertainment (kustom dancers, music nights).

The property has a good potential to grow. Nice views and snorkelling is very good.

Hong KongDeep brown water is coming out of the sink. We left it running for a couple of minutes, but no change. No drinking water is provided. We also took cockroaches back home with us… We definitely wouldn't stay there again. Also, bear in mind: some rooms don't have air-con.
Free snorkelling gear. That’s about it. Staff was very helpful.

AustraliaNo aircon, room was stinking hot we had to ask for fans and keep the doors closed so we didn’t get eaten alive at night. The sheets weren’t changed, towels were folded up and put back on the shelf, even one which had been used on the bathroom floor, a cat kept coming into our room and getting into our bin. We had no power and no water when I was sick and vomiting.

AustraliaBreakfast is not included and not really worth paying extra for. An unnecessary additional cost for cereal and bread. This is a management thing though, staff made up for this with their smiling faces and warm welcomes. Rooms don’t have aircon which is fine if you can handle the heat
The location is amazing and staff were so accomodating and friendly, I could not fault them. The reef is beautiful and hiring gear is so easy. We also went scuba diving with Dell and he was amazing. All staff were. Room was great for the price we paid and having a private beach entrance and small garden was a treat! Felt like your typical island living

New ZealandThe ferry to the mainland runs very frequently but expect to wait for a bit at times. The diving prices were roughly 50% higher than stated on the website, I decided not to go diving and went for snorkelling instead. Be prepared for a 3% surcharge if you pay by card. Most of the beach is coral - not sand.
Great location for a relaxing holiday. Short bus ride to the city. However, don't pay too much for the public buses. A ride should not cost more than 150 to 200 VT to the city. Hot showers are available. Lots of activities are offered or can be arranged. Great for snorkelling (compared to Tanna though most corals of the house reef were dead, which made it easy to see the plenty and colourful fish).

AustraliaThe island was good but the coral had rubbish left on it and the rooms were filthy and disgusting. Dried blood left on bedside table and floor from previous guests, the bathroom was unclean, rooms and floors were unkept and we had to ask them to mop and service them. The breakfast was toast or cereal or eggs and bacon but you had to pay extra for it all on top of the already extravagant price. Hot water doesn’t last longer then 2 minutes at that.

AustraliaThe rats running in our villa! The whole resort is so run-down, understaffed and dirty - rat nest visible in the kitchen and they’ve clearly been there a while. No hot water or pressure in showers - in both Villa and bungalow. Many missing light bulbs including whole rooms. Room missing tv/dvd as advertised. Had to ask 5 times for our wifi code that was part of our booking. Staff did not care (one laughed at the rats and said they won’t hurt us), or could not help. Often no staff at reception and lots of waiting around. Restaurant ran out of many options and long wait for any food. Snorkelling was no better than any other beach in Vanuatu and loads of day trippers took all tables. You can only snorkel in a small area. Post office doesn’t look like the photos and is dingy and grimy. I have videos and could write so much more. So disappointed.
Nothing, it’s terrible. We stayed at other places in Vanuatu on this trip and none were this bad so they can’t just blame the cyclones or covid!

AustraliaThere was a rat in our room so we couldn’t keep food. There was no basic cooking facilities. Bed very uncomfortable and it hasn’t been kept in good condition. They ran out of food all the time. Even straws. We would never stay here again. We stayed in 2015 and the place was great then but new management clearly don’t give a damn. The best thing about the place was the staff in the restaurant and bar and the snorkeling was great.

United KingdomIt was disappointing that the continental breakfast wasn't included in the price, and that it was 1000 VUV per day for some cereal and toast (no fruit or pastries etc). We ended up paying extra for a cooked breakfast each day, and it was delicious.
The location is spectacular. The snorkelling is the best I've ever seen. We had a beach front bungalow, and it was very spacious and worth paying extra for. Many afternoons reading on the hammock were had. The staff were also lovely and very helpful and the food is actually really good! The hotel has recently changed management, and they are working hard to spruce up the property.

AustraliaWe booked specifically so our kids could do a Padi course but when we arrived were informed they would need to travel into town with another scuba place because they were no longer PADI affiliated. We were already certified so could dive there (and enjoyed the diving and the team there) but it was enough of a hassle that one of our kids decided not to get certified which was disappointing. Also the food isn’t great so you might want to consider self catering at least some of the time.
Lovely staff that go above and beyond. We stayed in the 1 bedroom ocean facing 200m2 apartment which had a deck and the spaciousness was fantastic. Aircon was great too. The reef out front is great to snorkel.
