Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThere was a clitch with our first room however it was rectified which I was grateful for. I didn't like the - breakfast, it was ok but not amazing. - that there was no koko Samoa available for breakfast - the service for dinner was slower than I expected and our food came out at different times, others had already finished their food before the rest of our food came out.
Great service on arrival and staff are friendly, this is my 2nd time staying there. I liked - our 2nd room - how there is the beach as well as the pools

New ZealandProperty was run down, no maintenance, water & electricity & internet didn’t work at times. The resort needed a good clean up. Breakfast and food was sub-par( eg cold egg-bread , instant coffee) No water equipment eg kayak. Rubbish in the water.
location next to the sea was good; no sand or beach. Snorkeling ok. Room size was good (beachfront villa). Aircon worked.

AustraliaNothing much but if I am trying to find something to dislike, it would be the parking and driveway as it was filled quite easily and the driveway itself is a 1 lane way but there is limited options I guess to upgrade this.
Very smooth check-in process and early availability (check-in from 12pm) We only stayed 1 night as it was closer to our family village before our flight back home. The room itself was a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom with a large lounge area/common area which was good for the kids to have more room to move around and us to lay our luggage out to repack etc. The bathroom was large for us having 4 children under 7. I liked that all the rooms were all mostly standalone huts, made it seem more private for a smaller hotel. We will stay here again for our next trip to Samoa.

New ZealandWe had to walk past the pool to get to our pool side room. The tiles are very slippery and can be very dangerous so would suggest putting some non-slip mats there or something.
We initially booked a standard garden view room but upgraded to a pool side two bedroom unit (very glad we did that)

New ZealandThe 2 bedroom room I booked also had no area for everyone to relax in like a lounge. Breakfast was very disappointing. Only ate there once. Two many cats around the property. Coming into the rooms and getting into the rubbish.
upgrading my room to one by the pool was nice.

SwitzerlandWe were somewhat disappointed by the constant presence of numerous dogs, with some displaying aggression when approached. Additionally, the breakfast selection lacked diversity, limiting our dining options. Moreover, our experience was marred by noisy neighbours indulging in late-night drinking sessions outside our room, extending into the early hours of the morning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! One of the highlights was definitely the restaurant's deck built right over the ocean, offering wonderful views and a unique dining experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of marine life right outside our upgraded room, making our stay even more memorable. The staff members were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our entire visit. They went above and beyond by graciously upgrading our room free of charge, which we greatly appreciated. The room itself was impeccably clean and comfortable, providing us with a relaxing retreat after adventurous days exploring the island. Furthermore, the staff offered excellent suggestions for activities and sights to see during our stay, ensuring we made the most of our time on the island. Their helpfulness and genuine hospitality truly enhanced our overall experience.

United StatesBreakfast was OK. Avoid the pizza at dinner.
Hotel consists of small villas, some garden and some with ocean view. Mini-fridge and hotpot. Patio area outside room. Rural location about 25 km from Apia, on the water. Nice outdoor lobby by reception desk. Some people enjoyed the feral dogs and cats in the restaurant. Beautiful surf views from the dining area. Wifi available in lobby, but not room.

AustraliaHousekeeping was never done throughout our 6 night stay. No fresh sheets, towels, mopping or bin emptying. Also it was unclear on what needed to done in order to request it. Had to go to reception to request fresh towels and toilet paper when running low. Each time which was frustrating as it often took 2-3 hours for someone to actually bring to our room. The rooms are quite dated and could benefit from some minor changes to make the stay feel more welcoming. The mattress was hard on my back and made it difficult to have a good nights rest. Our toilet leaked and the shower didn’t drain correctly. It would be good if there was more of a kitchenette in the rooms so that you could clean your dishes or utilise the tea and coffee station better. Food menu prices were not justifiable given the very small portion sizes. Complimentary breakfast was okay, running from 7:30am-9am, on which sometimes the breakfast was late or the toaster wasn’t working properly. Cups were also not clean to drink from.
The location is amazing. Situated on the beach, allowing for great views of the ocean from every direction. The deck overlooking the ocean was relaxing during meals. Free filtered water was a bonus as it saved costs buying bottled water. Complimentary breakfast was okay. Mike especially was very friendly and helped us with any request we had during our stay. Thanks Mike!

New ZealandWhen we arrived we had to call reception for towels and after an hour of waiting we got some. There were 6 of us but only received 4 towels even though we were told another 2 would be delivered to our room. The wifi connection in Family Room 3 & 4 Lily pond where we stayed was bad. It kept cutting out and tv wasn’t used in room 3 either for netflix because wifi connection again. Family room 4 fridge had maggots inside when we arrived. Someone came to wipe it down when we reported to reception but found the maggots were back after wiping so we just turned it off and didn’t use it. Also lili pond rooms, you can really hear the conversations from the rooms next door. These are the only things I would fault. I think if I was to go here again I would book ocean view or near the pool.
The staff were lovely especially the male that helped us for most of our stay. I’ve forgotten his name but he was the best and made our family feel welcome. The pool was nice for a swim at the end of the day.

New ZealandThe rooms and property are outdated. The WIFI was terrible and did not reach our room located in the Garden Villa's. Unfortunately Le Uaina seemed to run behind on timings, for example the breakfasts were often served late which made it hard to plan and organise our day, and our airport shuttle arrived 45mins later than the adjusted pre-booked time.
The staff were friendly and helpful - truly amazing staff. The property was spacious. The facility provided equipment and activity gear for swimming and diving. The rooms were private. Excellent pool facilities. Breakfast was included. Reception was always approachable and ready to help. Great access to the ocean, beach and swimming spots.

AustraliaThe room we originally booked was the family room. It was interconnected with the neighbouring room and when we checked in there was a bit of flooding coming from the neighbouring room. As soon as we notified staff, they were quick in relocating us to a garden villa. Smaller but it was more comfortable. The resort location is on a beautiful beach front in Falepuna, a fairway from the city and right nextdoor piula cave pool - stunning, picturesque views but facilities and rooms are very outdated and run down. Hopefully there are plans to renovate the place.
Beautiful beach! We swam in the ocean for hours, the kids loved jumping into the ocean off the deck by the pool area (pool was too warm). We loved the friendly service, we were always greeted with a smile. When there was an issue with our original room, the staff were able to swap it out straight away. I loved that there was a water station to refill your bottles, also the simplicity of the breakfast options.

The shower glass door was broken and couldnt slide open or closed, even had a little mouse running inside the villa which was a major downfall. HOWEVER, staff was quick enough to relocate us to the butterfly room asap which was a much better & beautiful room.

SamoaThe reception area and staff were lovely, but the back section where we were was pretty dirty and unmopped. Nothing to stir coffee and had to ask for milk. No mention of room service and had the same sheets for 7 nights.
The breakfast was nice, only scrambled eggs once a week. Bathroom light didn’t work and was fixed when asked. Our room looked nothing like the photo, especially the bathroom, no shower curtain or fan, shower towel rail broken. Dogs on property not fed and obviously malnourished. 6 cats jumping on breakfast tables to eat leftovers which is a health and safety issue and obviously not fed either. Paid laundry service was good, but no record of my payments for this when checking out.

AustraliaRoom was not the cleanest, but as I wasn't really in it much just for sleeping, it was fine. Just need to pay attention to small details to lift the standard. Drapes need to be hemmed tonfit windows, shower head to be lifted up so you can fit under it to wash, taps to be fitted properly, and linen to be clean on arrival. Pillows need washing or changing. That was for the Garden villas.
Beautiful staff, amazing location, everything there that is needed. Little shop across the road, tourist spots close by. Good price for what you get. The reception area is beautiful. Car park available. Great views and swimming , snorkelling is awesome. Food was average, service was good.
