Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThey seemed to run out of stock for everything. They didn't have lemonade or mint for the first few days and they eve ran out of fries at one point. Breakfast was pretty basic. We stayed 10 nights so when you get the same thing every day it can get a bit boring. The pool was nice with plenty of shade but it did get very busy as it was the only one on the property. The swim up bar didn't open up at a consistent time. The on site store wasn't very well stocked. It really needed some more basics like tissues and snacks. We bought the only box of crackers available and it was already half eaten! They did give us a refund though. The pool towels were also scarce. Most resorts had these available at the pool area and you can grab and exchange through out the day, but here you could get one set at the beginning and drop off at reception in the evening. When you're in and out of the water all day, you end up with a pretty wet towel most of the day. Wifi was also sketchy. So you can't do any work .
We had a wonderful time at Saletoga. The location was pretty out of the way, so if you're looking for a real get away where it's long days of reading, sun bathing by the beach and the pool, and snorkeling for hours then it's the perfect place. The staff was friendly. The bungalow was comfortable. A little outdated, but clean and tidy, with plenty of space for a family of four. The grounds was one of the best kept garden I've seen. The snorkeling was fantastic. The beach was clean and safe. Loved that they had cold water refilling station every where and every bungalow and their own tap outside to wash off sand. The excursions were well planned and glad they had these available because the property was pretty far from everything. Also appreciated the airport transfers because again the resort is far from the airport.

New ZealandNothing to dislike, although I thought the excursions were expensive and the food/drink, albeit of a very high quality was a bit pricey.
Excellent resort. Super friendly staff. Beautiful setting and spectacular gardens. Excellent and very well appointed villa. Transfer to and from the airport was seamless with a very friendly and informative driver.

New ZealandIt would have been nice to have a mat at the door to get sand of your feet and a brush and pan to sweep up the annoying sand that got on to the floors. A very small matter on the grand scheme of things.
From when the driver meet us at the airport with an air conditioned van and an ice cold bottle of water to the fantastic reception girls and then Junior our Porter who showed us to our room everything was easy. Room was as the website photos showed (no photo shopping here) the outside shower was a bonus. Breakfast (included) was awesome and the dinners exceptional. Did I mention the location WOW. Would love to go back.

New ZealandOf course it would have been nice if it was a bit less expensive, but you get what you pay for. The quality was outstanding.
The kids loved the pool, especially the swim up bar, and they also loved the slides into the sea that you can use at high tide. The food was excellent, particularly the buffet breakfasts, and the menu for other meals was very wide ranging. The beds were very comfortable, as was the rest of the villa. We had one of the big Deluxe Family Villas, and it was great. It also had a very private outside shower out the back of it which was handy to rinse off in. Good air con. A highlight for us was when one of the grounds keeping staff took us to the other end of the resort from where we found him, to not only show us where you can find coconuts, but then he also husked two of them for us. Such a friendly helpful young fellow. That was a real highlight for our boys. It was by far the most expensive place we stayed on our week in Samoa, but it deserved to be!

New ZealandRooms have a heat pump but don't expect miracles. Samoa runs off diesel generators so expect a room to cool down to 25 or so during day not the 17 set, but thats better than the 32 outside. The ceiling fan is a godsend. English is a 2nd language so that creates communication issues at times. Not serious, so be like Samoans do and laugh it off. Life in Samoa is chilled and best experienced with a smile and good heart. Not ideal for diabetics or recent baratric surgery as many options are not available and some that are run out. Eg. There was only 1 diet drink on menu but they ran out and there was no more... a Samoan supply issue more than resort issue. There was low carb and very low sugar Kabuccha and that saved the day for my partner. Fresh fish dishes amazing on the few days there was any. Supply issue. Samoa needs more tourism to help it grow and prosper. Supply issues would improve with more support and demand that would pay for more supply. All in all we loved it and would go back
The beachfront villa location was idyllic, just supherb. The villa itself was comfortable and clean. The water in the unit is safe to drink. Loved the private outside shower so much in its private garden we never even used the inside one. Staff are friendly and helpful. Friendly bars where meeting other travellers comes naturally. There is some coral and lots of beautiful fish right off the beach, and the sunsets from the bar down past the boatshed are world class. The day trips well worth it as also the car rental.. a bargain. So much to see and do that is beautiful.

New ZealandThe family rooms are so far from the reception. There was no phone in the room so every time we needed help or to ask a question, we had to walk all the way to reception. There was also no wifi in the rooms or anywhere else on the resort except in the main restaurant and reception area. The location of the TV in the room was also a bit awkward, it was on the side corner of the main bed, wish it was in a more central location. The cost of washing and drying gave me a heart attack - $60 tala per bag. They provide the laundry bags and it's so small that 2 towels would fill it up.
I loved that it was family friendly. Our room was right next to the kids playground and kids swimming pool which was convenient for us. The room was beautiful and spacious with high ceilings - perfect place to relax after a long day of swimming. I loved that they had dvds you could hire to watch in your room, felt like I was a United Video again lol. The resort is beautiful, makes the drive out worth your time. I would defs go there again.
