The hotel should reconsider room service, I believe it would greatly improve the guest experience.

    The customer service was great.

WiFi didn't work and the hotel could use a refurbishment.

The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. Good choice of hot dishes for breakfast. The room was clean but a bit dated. WiFi virtually non-existent.

There is not a large selection of chain hotels in Lusaka. Therefore, this option is a good one.

My husband and I had pretty bad allergies in the rooms. Not sure if it was the AC, or whether the cleaning staff sprayed strong mosquito spray (I don't think so though) or that the walls of the hotel are a bit moldy. I think staff did their best. I would stay here again for one or two nights while passing through Lusaka.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, fast wifi

The rooms shower was a bit weak. I flagged it to the staff and they promised to fix it.

The location was good, shops and restaurants close and easy commute to other places. Staff was exellence!

The breakfast wasn't fully ready by 6.30 though it says that in the description.

All staff members were extremely nice and helpful: I could turn to them with anything. Though during daytime the street is busy, at night it is quiet and peaceful.

Probably the only drawback is the city centre location and the lack of parking if you have your own vehicle. Getting to meetings outside the city centre requires some planning as early morning and late afternoon traffic is terribly congested and slow....which is not the hotel's fault but its location means some time planning for travel.

There are quite a few choices in Lusaka, but many are priced too high. The Protea Hotel is a smaller, unpretentious hotel with lovely, clean rooms and nice new bathrooms. The breakfast was good to start the day with and the restaurant was open till 9.30 pm, which was great for us as we had late meetings. The prices of soft drinks were very reasonable from the bar, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly at every point of contact.

The machine at the reception made an error but i was charged. The ladies at the reception wasn't comprehensive at all and i had to pay twice despite the fact that i showed her my bank message saying that I've already paid. I will follow up with the manager but I'm really disappointed. It was a stressful and bad experience for a first time staying at Protea

The hotel does need a bit of maintenance, as the wear is visible (e.g. lobby, bathroom). But it is all functional and clean.

I did not like the fact that windows could not open, and at the same time I understand the safety measures by the local authorities since the rooms have no balconies.

The wi-fi in general (in Zambia) felt a bit like 90's dial-up internet. It took an hour to download Yango (uber) at the hotel. The gym could do with a treadmill.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and in bedding etc was great. There was a good selection at breakfast and the restaurant is good too. I didn't eat there, but the options sounded delicious!
