In the charming Lake District village of Coniston, less than 0.5 miles from Coniston Water, The Crown Inn has a relaxed pub and bright rooms.

Traditionally styled, each room has high quality mattresses, a satellite TV and a private bathroom with a bath or shower. Free tea and coffee, a hairdryer and a telephone are also included.

Beautiful room, comfortable bed, quality linens and spotlessly clean. Nice to have coffee making facilities in the room and appreciated the seating and storage spaces. Breakfast was excellent, as was food ordered at other times. Unlike many other places there is plenty of free parking, and it’s a great base location for walks and trips around the area.

Buckle Yeat guest house is a 17th-century Lakeland cottage with traditional rooms, situated in the village of Near Sawrey, in the Lake District. Off-road parking and free Wi-Fi are available.

Full of character, Buckle Yeat has a large oak beamed lounge with an open log fire, antique furniture and cosy armchairs.

We loved absolutely everything! As a huge Beatrix Potter fan it was amazing to stay in an actual cottage that was featured in a few of her books. The historical factor, how pretty the cottage is both inside and out, the décoré, the location! It was all so beautiful- not a single fault to be had. And Robert, the fantastic owner, is one in a million.

The location is exquisite with lakeside access. The various facilities, including the cutest booths outdoors for a cosy cuppa by the lake make this a really special place to relax and unwind (the lanterns offered in the rooms were such a lovely addition too!) Food was excellent and reasonably priced, variety of drinks were good, and staff were all very helpful, attentive and offered a smile! The offer of fla free drink in exchange for not having your room serviced is a really clever idea - well done. I would.go back in an instant.

Super location and friendly staff. Comfortable bed & room with great view. Bedroom was rather small and there was a handheld over bath shower, slightly tricky if you are tall but fine for one or two nights' stay. Lovely food and relaxed ambiance ; has own brewery with some iconic award winning local beers. Well worth a stay.

Perfect location! The site is right next to Coniston Water, where you can go on lovely lake-side walks and do different types of watersports. My boyfriend and I took an inflatable Kayak, which was well used, but you can easily hire kayaks, canoes, rowing boats and more at the marina down the road! Distance to the town is ideal too, where there is some lovely places to eat and some nice shops. Also highly recommend the nearby walk, Glen Mary - see photos.
