The property is 11 km from central Saariselkä, Kiilopää fell is 5 km away. Everything was great. The Cabin was spacious and clean, and it was very comfortable staying there. There was a kitchen complete with cooking equipment, with plates, glasses, pots and pans, utensils, so you can cook your own meals and keep your costs down. There’s a coffee machine too. If you book airport transfers with them, they will take you to the supermarket first before proceeding to the Cabin so you can buy everything you need. The hosts Jaana and Mika were very kind and gracious. They even allowed us to check out late for free when they learned that our flight would leave at 6:00pm. If you’re thinking of spending time in Lapland, stay at Polar Aurora Cabins. You will not regret it.

Set in Saariselkä, Northern Lights Village Saariselkä features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi. The property has its own reindeer paddock, where guests are welcome to watch and pet the reindeer. Free parking is available. The location of NLV is unique. Although it is situated within a short distance of just 5min walk from Saariselkä, you can admire the aurora from your cabin, without any excessive light pollution, and enjoy the activities in the snowy forest. You may easily walk even to the Ski Center (approx. 20min). The resort is perfectly organized. The main building hosts the reception, where there is always someone full of kindness to help you on anything you might need, and the super cozy lounge area where you can relax, have your breakfast or dinner. The meals are delicious, perfectly served with plenty of food and a great view outside! In the Safari House, the meeting place for all the activities close to the main building, you may ask for thermal/waterproof suits, mittens, boots and balaclavas, that you may keep during your stay. Activities: definitely book for a 5-10km Husky ride, a 2-hour Cross-country Skiing lesson and of course Aurora Hunting. Aurora Camps on the Border and by the Lake are probably their best. The activities are very well organized and the guides are super friendly and helpful. Although the Aurora Huntings are not trully huntings since they have a certain destination, it is a great experience, perfectly organized, with photo shootings by professional cameras. The cabins are super cozy, warm, clean, spacious, with amenities and a tablet on the wall as your link to the reception but mostly as your aurora alert, which truly works! The bathroom is also spacious. We saw the aurora both nights from our cabin, apart from our aurora huntings. But even if we hadn't, it is still an amazing experience to sleep literally under the stars and wake up with the view of a snowy forest!!! The helpfulness of the sales department is also worth to be mentioned. NLV is indeed a luxury option compared to other hotels and resorts nearby, but the overall experience that it offers undoubtedly is worth paying for.

Each villa has a fully equipped kitchen, seating area with a flat-screen TV and CD player. A dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer are also included. Free WiFi, bed linen and towels are included. The house was lovely and modern and equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Little touches like the Christmas tree and having dishwasher tablets and detergents to use etc made a self catering stay a lot easier with a family. The house is a little way from the town centre if you are walking (as it’s very cold) but We had a car and it took 5 minutes and we loved the fact it was secluded and quiet but we could easily reach where we needed to go by car.

We were positively surprised by the sauna in our hut, as we did not read before that every hut is equipped with its own sauna. Breakfast and dinner buffets were great, staff was on top of things in terms of refilling the buffet and cleaning the tables. Cross country skis can be rented on site for a reasonable price.

Each room features large windows to view the surrounding nature and if lucky, the Northern Lights during winter. A shared sauna is also available. Best view in Town, really good restaurant and helpful and friendly guides.

This hotel is located along the Ivalo River in Ivalo town centre. It offers three buildings for accommodation, free parking and sauna access. Traditional Lappish dishes are served in its award-winning restaurant. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with a private sauna and absolutely could not have been happier. The sauna was easy to work, the hotel was in the center of Ivalo and very close to everything (this matters when it is -25...), and the staff were great. What's not to love? We will certainly return.
