Laxey
The apartment comes with 1 bedroom, a flat-screen TV and a fully equipped kitchen that provides guests with a dishwasher, an oven, a washing machine, a microwave and a toaster. Towels and bed linen are featured in the apartment. The property has an outdoor dining area. Just returned from a lovely 4 night stay at The Cottage. This is a beautifully presented quirky one bedroom cottage, perfect for the two of us. Upon arrival The Cottage was immaculate & is very well supplied with everything you need for a self catering holiday. There is instant hot water even when heating isn't on, shower has great water pressure too. There is a small private patio area off the kitchen which we didn't use during our stay but in height of summer will be a lovely place to sit. The cottage is alongside the electric railway embankment & viaduct; we believe the cottage was there long before the railway (very slight noise as the train passes, but not intrusive at all). Approx a 10 mins walk to Laxey Beach which when we were there the sun was shining & the bay was a busy & happy place. We used (for the first time) public transport into Douglas, buses were every half hour up until 10pm, then hourly (good app available to check times etc). Short walk up some slightly steep hills onto the main road where there's local shops, pubs the electric railway & where you pick up public transport. Highly recommend & would definitely look at staying here again next time we're on the island.
Castletown
The aparthotel provides guests with a terrace, city views, a seating area, a flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and an oven, and a private bathroom with walk-in shower and bathrobes. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also offered, as well as a kettle. At the aparthotel, the units include bed linen and towels. The accommodation was exactly as described, bigger than I'd imagined and in a beautiful setting. It was wonderfully clean and high quality with everything we could have needed including the small important things we always forget in self-catering - washing up liquid, tea towels, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets etc. Asma and Lisa could not have been more helpful or accommodating. A perfect stay, thank you so much.

The staff were brilliant - couldn’t have been better. I found the bed hard and uncomfortable, and the lighting in the bedroom was too dim to read by which was a problem because I was unwell for two days and had to be in bed a fair while. But the thing that persuaded me to vote low was some of the other guests who happened to be opposite our room. They made our stay very uncomfortable. But I repeat, the staff were wonderful.
All basics were fully met. Well equipped kitchen. Spacious bedrooms. Very comfortable beds. Nice linens, thick towels. Great location with many restarants nearby. Multiple electrical outlets in every room. Tesco 5 minute walk. Excellent wifi.
The room was very spacious and very comfortable. The balcony looked out over the Atrium and was ideal for a morning cuppa or a night time drink. The bathroom was good, the shower a little small but adequate. I can't fault the food at breakfast, plenty of choice and plenty of it 10/10. Normans bar and the Bonzai restaurant are excellent and they serve especially good Martini's. Already planning to go back.
The sea view bedroom had an amazing view and it was the only room with balcony.
The hotel building is very impressive. It might help to have a sign outside with the name [clearly visible]. My room was very small and having "upgraded" I cannot imagine how small the original room might have been.
Our room was overall a pretty standard hotel room, but it had a unique wood style to it, with an excellent bathroom with both a bath and a shower. I also really enjoyed the spa. It was incredible. However, I'm not sure if it's worth the £50pp for 2 hours. Although we did have it to ourselves when we went, which was amazing, the cocktails they served were also great. The layout of the hotel was also pleasant with a great lounge area :) The staff were also all very friendly, helpful, and great to talk to.
Our bedroom was very spacious. Items in the well stocked mini-bar were free and it was restocked daily. The breakfast was very good with an extensive choice of hot and cold dishes.
Lovely old hotel right on the esplanade at Douglas. Fantastic location for strolling the the shops and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had an atrium room which had a balcony looking over the atrium and fish ponds. Breakfast was very good and buffet style. Car parking is limited in the underground car park although there is a big multi storey car park just a few minutes walk away. The hotel has a small pool which is ideal for a quick dip after a day out.
Great location. Some of the interior design is questionable especially the teddy bears at the entrance and a mass of oversized sofas. Super confusing layout that even after a few days had us and others wondering which way/floor is our room. Our bedroom was super spacious but was lacking some soul and it was very cold so we had to put the heater on.
