Located right in front of Yoshida River, Miharaya Ryokan offers Japanese-style accommodations and traditional multi-course meals. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and guests can enjoy the public bath. A free shuttle is available from Gujo Hachiman Train Station, which is a 10-minute drive away.

The room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the river. The breakfast each morning was delicious and such a generous portion, including fresh fish from the river. It was such a relaxing experience and very good value for money. The staff were also very kind and hospitable. It is a ryokan, so be prepared to share the bathing facilities and follow the proper bathing etiquette. Foreign travellers shouldn’t be dissuaded by this though, as it is part of the experience with travelling in Japan. The ryokan is such a relaxing and peaceful place to stay at in Gujo Hachiman.

Traditional multi-course dinners, air-conditioned Western-style rooms with Yukata robes await guests at Hotel Sekisuien, which offers hilltop views and a peaceful forest setting. It is 10 minutes from Gujo Hachiman Train Station on the free shuttle.

Ten minutes walk uphill to the castle along a beautiful winding road, and similar down to village. However taxis are cheap quick to arrive and easily booked by the hotel reception. The staff are incredible as is the chef, and restaurant staff- the kindest reception and most timely serving of delicious food. The hotel is surrounded by lovely Japanese gardens with an amazing view to the town and across the valley. A real escape into the Japanese countryside. We also loved our room - it was huge, remarkably clean with large comfortable beds, fabulous bath and we were provided with gorgeous toiletries and all the essentials. We wished we had booked for much longer, given the work the staff out in to prepare rooms.

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Loved my big Japanese style room with all its facilities and the outdoor onsen overhung with cherry blossom and overlooked by mist covered forests and mountains

EXCELLENT value for money. 7000 yen for a whole house. It has a nice location, right next to a forest and with a small farming settlement with a river running between houses. You can hear the sounds of various birds and see the mist on nearby mountains. BBQ available too. The house has a retro Nintendo Famicom if you like old games. The hosts were very nice to us and arrange HALF PRICE at a hot spring in Gero Onsen town. This is my second time at Hanamidori (it is a chain of 3 or 4 houses in Gifu) and last time was good too

I had a perfect stay at Fairfield! Very clean hotel with a good room area and decor. It's next to a food court and onsen - which is amazing - and the hotel provides you with a discount to enjoy its warm baths. It is about 15 min drive away from Gujo-Hachiman and 5 min away from a train station ( if you are not by car ). Highlt recommended, one of the best hotels I have been to in Japan with a good price / quality relation.

Although the location is quite remote, there are restaurants and onsen nearby which supports the hotel. The hotel is new and nice, quite spacious!

I was very happy with my stay at Miharaya Ryokan and would definitely stay again. The location is fantastic, my room was clean, spacious and comfortable and the shared bathing facility was very good. Breakfast was large and tasty and the owners were friendly and attentive. All-in-all, I was very happy.

The breakfast was superb. Hard to get a traditional breakfast like this in other places (they'll usually have a toast set or a onigiri set). Essentially, it's a lot of small dishes together -- not too much of each -- mixed with soup. For one morning, we even had "Kechan", which is a local dish of grilled chicken with cabbage on a small grill plate. The owner, although did not speak English well, kindly accommodated us there.

Authentic ryokan home, comfortable bed and writing desk. There are two adorable cats who like to miao and play. Gujo Hachiman itself is a quaint town, some of the restaurants were closed for dinner when I was there but there were still some good lunch places. The kitchen and dining area are convenient to use and I prepared dinner one night.

Miharaya Ryokan was delightful! The location is stunning, found beside a rushing river (which is lovely to fall asleep to, not to loud, but soothing). The room was spacious, came with a kotatsu, futon and of course an excellent view. The staff were helpful, attentive and kind, and the provided breakfast was plentiful.
