This ryokan was gorgeous and a place you can really experience Japanese "omotenashi", the service was exceptional. We pulled up in our car to be greeted by someone to welcome us, take our bags, and park the car. We were led into a beautiful waiting room to fill out our paperwork and were given fresh matcha and sweets. Then we were given a lovely tour and found our bags waiting for us in the room, which was massive and beautifully decorated. The onsen was lovely and the relaxation room had free massage chairs to enjoy. The whole ryokan is traditionally decorated and so fun to explore as it seemed there were new rooms and hallways everywhere. The breakfast, both Japanese and western were also delicious. I highly recommend this Ryokan for their stellar service and relaxing atmosphere.

The place is beautiful and the owners are very friendly and kind! They welcomed us with the traditional tea, matcha latte and some sweets. For dinner and breakfast they served traditional dishes (a lot of different foods) and we were super happy to try them. One of the owners even translated some of the special ingredients into our native language! Really nice and respectful of him! We really recommend a stay at Busuitei.

Spacious rooms, had the choice between futons and mattresses as there were only two of us. A good variety of amenities for my use: washing machine, toaster oven, space heater. Great location to Hida Furukawa and only a short walk to the train station (5-10min)

If you are looking for a traditional ryokan experience, then Yatsusankan is the place for you. We particularly enjoyed the food and the onsen. The staff was able to assist us in English whenever we needed them, which positively surprised us in a remote town such as Hida.

A really special experience at this ryokan in Hida Takayama. We stayed in the suite with our own private onsen bath. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. We loved the kaiseki (traditional multi-course Japanese dinner) and breakfast.

We are from Taiwan, and this is an excellent traditional Japanese inn. I am very satisfied with the service, the guest rooms, and the hot springs. I suggest ordering sake during dinner and trying the famous Hōrai and Shirayumi sake, which are local specialties. Additionally, I recommend making a reservation in advance for a private hot spring bath. It offers a fantastic bathing experience, and it's very relaxing to have a glass of milk after soaking in the hot spring. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful experience.

This is a typical Ryokan. We had a little onsen in our room. Great views of the shrine, river and mountains. Very friendly staff that really creates a customer experience. Meals are included so you will be served the traditional kaseiki in your own private dining room. The rooms are recently renovated.

It was an unforgettable ryokan experience. We ended up staying in both the Mountain View room and the Premium Suite. The PS was huge! It was beautiful, but older. The private onset was wonderful. I think I preferred the MV room though. It was newer and every detail was perfect. The people were wonderful. The food was incredible. Some things were a little challenging (the tiny firefly squid comes to mind), but I expected that. I met the nicest Japanese mother and daughter in the onsen, an experience I won't forget.

The welcome we received upon arrival was lovely. The ryokan feels very authentic with little hallways going off in all directions! We travelled through Japan for two weeks and this place had my favourite Onsen. To sit outside in the Onsen while it was snowing was magical. The breakfast was of course very Japanese and very abundant. We were never able to eat it all.
