The property is a historic building in an interesting residential area located near the Hikone Castle and old town district. Our host was incredibly friendly and welcoming host. It felt very special to stay here in our cozy Japanese style room.

The location was walking distance from Hikone castle - which is a must see. We were also able to walk down to the Hikone Harbour which had a nice sunset. The facilities such as the onsen and toilets were well kept. The rooms themselves were surprisingly spacious. The host was very friendly and kindly offered to give us a lift back to Hikone station.

This was an amazing stay! The staff was super friendly and we managed to communicate in English (with a little help from google) Breakfast and dinner were very good and not too expensive (1100¥ breakfast, 2200¥ dinner) The bathroom is shared with a sento feel to it which makes it great. Bedding is very comfortable and the kimono they offer look dope! Would 100% come back

The family running the Ryokan was very very friendly and accommodating to me. Everything has been explained to me, but I also speak Japanese so mileage may vary. The bath was very nice and Japanese style. Everything I needed like Toothbrushes, shampoo was available. I liked the room, it was a Japanese style tatami room with a comfortable Futon bed.

We were able to have a family bath in their rock bath onsen, which was a novelty. Hosts were super friendly and accomodating, and even offered to drive us to the train station. It was amazing - the room, the fantastic onsen overlooking the lake, the super helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to come and pick us up from maibara, the sensational breakfast and dinner, the yukata you get to wear around the hotel, the free udon and drinks in the evening. This place is really fabulous - i’d rate it more than 10 if I could!

This place is magical, the rooms are so big and Japanese style, I had a room with 2 Tatami beds, a living room, a fridge, a beautiful space for sit and enjoy the garden. You can use the onsen for free. The owner gave us a lift to the train station, which was so kind. If you stay here, make sure to eat some skewers in the restaurant that is just at the front. The ryokan also offers a small but pleasant onsen. Staff were very amiable and friendly, though their English was supported by Google Translator. The place is a bit more than 1km from Hikone Castle and good restaurants.

It's a bit from the main station, but absolutely worth it. Also they will offer to drive you to the station when you check out for free. Great service! The room was huge and so comfortable. The private onsen can fit several people at once and I used it twice because it was so good. Also they can lend you a bike for free. I want to come back to Hikone just to stay there. And I would gladly pay more for the room. Book this place as you will not regret it.

There's an onsen downstairs that you can use, free bikes to use (I'm pretty sure there's only 2 though), and the owner gave me a lift to the station!
