Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and is fitted with a flat-screen TV. Some rooms have a seating area to relax in after a busy day. You will find a kettle in the room. Extras include slippers, free toiletries and a hairdryer.

The onsen pool on the rooftop was awesome. The spa facilities were huge. You need at least 2 days to enjoy all of them. The basic room without onsen was spacious with an ocean view. Breakfast and dinner at the buffet and restaurants were in good variety and quality with local ingredients. Will love to visit again

Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including windsurfing, cycling and fishing. Fukuoka is 43 km from Riverside Hotel Karatsu Castle, while Saga is 36 km away. The nearest airport is Fukuoka Airport, 46 km from Riverside Hotel Karatsu Castle.

First, this place is really great and an incredible bargain. It is located on the edge of the old castle grounds, only minutes walking to Karatsu Castle. The views of the river from the room and of the castle during breakfast are fabulous. The comfortable futons and quiet comforters were great. Our twin room had a small attached bathtub and toilet but we used the wonderful private ofuro each evening. We stayed in room 201, next to the wide staircase, above the ofuro bath. This room is the most protected from the sounds of road traffic but the din of road noise is still there some. I am a light sleeper and my wife and I slept great here! If you like Japanese style breakfasts then you will love it here. We walked through the nice pine forest down to the beach, as well as thoroughly exploring the castle. We had a great lunch at DonDonTei, down the street from Riverside. The value of where this inn is located and the quality of your stay are first class, in our book. After a month in Japan, this 2 night stay was truly one of our highlights!

Situated in Karatsu in the Saga region, with Nishinohama Beach nearby, Ryokan Wataya features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. A public bath is available for guests, along with an open-air bath. The ryokan has family rooms.

Wataya is a gorgeous building set in a beautiful Japanese courtyard. Short and easy walk from the Karatsu JR station with bus stop outside if you are carrying lots of luggages and don’t want to walk. The shopping mall and supermarket right opposite is great and you can even have a haircut there. The tatami room is spacious and spotlessly clean. My room is facing a japanese garden and I can see the koi carp swimming in the pond, while enjoying a cup of green tea. The Onsens are impeccable so as the interior deco in the room and lobby. Having Onsen in the morning amidst the sunlight is just too much an indulgence. The staffs are super helpful trying to help me to book a restaurant over the phone in Japanese. The breakfast is tasty and filling, food presentation is so beautiful I felt sorry to eat them. I stayed for 2 nights only and I wish I could stay longer next time I come again, hopefully very soon~~~

Everything. The cute and comfy yukata. The traditional Japanese style room had a nice retro vibe, with a traditional low table and sliding doors separating the main room from the small one with the river view. The public bath was spacious and clean. The lounge had a great variety of drinks and snacks.

The experience in the traditional Japanese style ryokan was amazing. We arrived before check in. They welcomed us even we arrived early. The room was in 1st floor name of 'Genkai'. The room was able to open the large window that make us see the lovely garden. Even though it was rain during our staying, the garden was enough to enjoy for a night. The dinner and breakfast are so so nice. Me and my friend absolutely fall in love to yoyokaku. I want to say thank you for staffs of yoyokaku and really look forward to next our visit.

It was perfect. Peaceful, calm, quiet. It was a snowy day in January and the Ryokan was kept warm. The staff is so kind and helpful! Breakfast was incredible and the dining room overlooking the gardens was so nice. The bedding was exceptionally comfortable compared to other Ryokans we have stayed in. There isn’t a single complaint we have! We will stay again!

This was probably the best Ryokan that we stayed at during one month in Japan. We had a car but it was an easy 20 minute walk into town. The building is beautiful & we loved the pine tree garden (thank you to the retired owner for showing us around the garden & sharing his passion). The breakfast was delicious & all the staff were so helpful & attentive, with excellent recommendations for eating out. We would have liked to have stayed longer .....

The hotel is close to Higashi-Karatsu station. The room had 2 single beds and a tatami area that would look out to the ocean. Very large and nice room.
