The place was so nice it was like being in a movie. There are very few guests so it is very quiet and I had the ofuro all to myself twice. The food both dinner and breakfast was beyond anything we have ever had. Took a ton of pictures.

Situated in the popular Dogo Hot Spring area, Onsen Ryokan Dougoya provides traditional Japanese-style accommodation with natural a hot spring bath and a lovely garden. Beautiful ryokan with a manicured garden and a cosy private hot bath . We had a spacious Japanese style room with very good amenities, including yokata, kotatsu, etc. Excellent location close to tourist attractions, especially Dogo Onsen. The host Hisa is very warm, friendly and attentive. He truly represents the exquisite and refined Japanese culture. He performed a tea ceremony with immense dexterity and finesse, and took the time to enlighten us about the local culture, art, etc. He also very generously offered us a delicious miso soup breakfast free of charge. Our stay here has been a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!!

Gorgeous small town, great view out the window, the staff goes above and beyond if you need anything. We rented the Japanese style room and while I found the sleeping pad a bit too hard my wife slept fine! We rented one of their private onsens and it was amazing! The breakfast buffet was also great.
