Free WiFi is available throughout the property and private parking is available on site. The accommodation features a lift, a shared kitchen and luggage storage for guests. Possibly the best hostel I have ever stayed - though that word doesn’t do it justice! Onsen and all common spaces were beautiful, the kitchen was the best appointed I’ve ever seen with everything from cooking sake to coffee beans and grinders, staff were helpful. It’s a bit out of the way of things but that makes for a really peaceful atmosphere.

All rooms have a private toilet and washbasin, while bathroom facilities are shared. Green tea sets with snacks are provided. I loved everything about this place! The staff was amazing, super friendly and nice people. Very helpful and cheerful but professional. The food was amazing too. I'm vegan and can say that I didn't expect that a hotel would put so much effort into creating a perfect vegan meal. Thank you so much for this experience. The Onsen is great too, I loved it (public and private ones). Directly in front of the hotel is a bus stop so it's super easy to get everywhere from the hotel. The room was very clean and beautiful, providing everything you need. I wish I could have stayed longer at this amazing place! Highly recommend!
Hakone
Main Dining Room "The Fujiya" serves French cuisine in an elegant space. Restaurant Cascade offers Western dishes, while Kikka-so serves traditional Japanese kaiseki dinners. A bar, lounge and bakery are available. The hotel itself is absolutely exceptional, and probably the most impressive luxury hotel I've ever stayed. If you enjoy the history exploration and the Japanese-western style, Fujiya definitely will be a great fit. The hotel finished its renovation 2 years ago and everything is in good condition. You can experience its glory and rich history since the majority of areas are free to explore for staying guests. (Do not miss its museum, library and garden. The swimming pool is a bit small, and personally I quite enjoyed its style.) In fact, my friends and I spent so much time exploring the hotel itself, the time spent in Fujiya hotel eventually became the highlight of our Hakone trip.

We stayed one night at this hotel in a family room due to an early morning flight. The family room was well set-up, with a tatami area where the futons were rolled up until we needed them. There are also 2 twin beds. The hotel is connected to Terminal 3 and a shopping center, so finding dinner was not a problem. The highlight was the Japanese onsen with 5 indoor pools and 3 outdoor pools. It was a nice soak before the long flight to finish our holiday.
Staying in a traditional ryokan was a treat. We really enjoyed the rooms, with tatami mats and windows overlooking beautiful greenery. The futons were really comfortable and our room had its own onsen, which was fabulous. The evening meals were extraordinary. Beautifully presented, with numerous delicious dishes. If anything there was too much food. The breakfast too was very lavish.
It was our first time staying at a Ryokan and it exceeded our expectations the room was traditional japanese room with tatami and at the upper level we had our futons. The onsen bath was refreshing and calming. The food was so delicous and well portioned and locally sourced. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer.
Staff were polite and helpful, are English competent. Loved the traditional dinner and breakfast and the experience of wearing yukatas everywhere, traditional Japanese public bathing facilities, the outdoor onsen after dinner where you can gaze up at the stars before falling asleep on futons in a tatami room. We had fantastic view of the mountains from our window. Quiet location.
We had such a fantastic experience during our stay at Ajisai and loved walking around in the supplied Yukatas! We really enjoyed the private onsen which we definitely made use of with our family, and the futon bed was extremely comfortable. Just note that it is a fair walk (especially if you have luggage), so best to take a taxi from Gora Station to get to the Ryokan.
I've appreciated the traditional style of the place; I wanted to experience staying one night in a ryokan. The futon, the tatami and the typical furniture of the room, everything was there. The onsen was also pleasant. My best memory is the kindness of the secund man who helped me whenever needed, the efforts he made to communicate with me to provide me with all information.
The ryokan is centrally located in Ueno and convenient for the University of Tokyo. It's a ryokan, so you get a low futon and tatami mats on the floor. They also provide you with a yukata to wear indoors. The owners are lovely, and arranged a late check-in for me without any difficulty. It is excellent value for the price.
Amazing facilities. You get to experience a lot as you get complementary yukatas and access to an amazing onsen. The rooms are very well furnished and the tatami mats and futons are a must experience
The traditional Ryokan was what we searched for and we were happy to receive the full experience with yukata's and futons. We had a personal toilet for the room (not in the room itself but we expected a shared one) And we were lucky with the onsens as we could use them both times by ourselves. The food was delicious and a good introduction to traditional Japanese food
A very traditional Japanese inn (ryokan). The outdoor hot spring (onsen) is fabulous. The food quality in the restaurant is very high at this price range. The staff is very friendly and they can speak English well.
