My husband and I were traveling with two toddlers and an infant and Jyoseikan is VERY family friendly. They even have a toddler play area in the lobby. The staff at Jyoseikan were accommodating, professional, and enthusiastic. I was especially impressed by the way that all of the staff spoke to and treated our toddlers - as if they were guests just as valued as the adult guests! We did the dinner service, and it was AMAZING. We were also traveling with two additional adult guests who did not care for Japanese cuisine, and the staff went out of their way to prepare western style meals for them. Everything was impeccably clean and efficient. We will absolutely return next time we are in Kochi.

This is truly a dream come true kind of hotel.

The nearest airport is Kochi Ryoma Airport, 13 km from the ryokan. The onsen was fantastic. We enjoyed the family bath that night and took a quick dip in the morning. The beds were very comfortable, giving us both a good night's sleep. It was great to lounge around in the supplied yukatas and winter jacket, taking in the spectacular scenery of the river. Although we can not speak any Japanese, we were able to communicate with the owner.

Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Pleasant stay, very clean and organised. Nice traditional breakfast and the hotel has a souvenir shop inside. Nice and clean bath. The room was very big for 1 person and very comfortable with individual bath included.

The staff very very nice. The room was comfortable. The location was very close to the castle and main shopping area.

This was a true, bonafide, traditional Japanese ryokan experience! There is so much history that it justifies the facilities being older. The whole experience was wonderful, especially the kind and excellent staff.
