@ the beach & not quite @ the beach Holiday Cottages - Stanley, hotel in Stanley

This property offers a choice of three self-contained cottages, one located at Godfrey's Beach and two located in the heart of Stanley.

Very nice apartment. Very clean with lovely furnishings. I loved the small touches like fresh flowers and a complimentary cheese platter. Our hosts were delightful and couldn't do enough for us. Great location, right in the main street. Best place we stayed in Tasmania.

Horizon Deluxe Apartments, hotel in Stanley

Horizon Deluxe Apartments offers luxurious accommodation with free parking on site and free Wi-Fi access.

I have stayed here many, many times over the years, usually a couple of times a year. It is always lovely cosy, only a short walk or drive, (I rather walk) into town for a meal at the pub or a coffee at the Brown Dog.

Stanley is a unique location with a rich history. Staying at the Ship Inn helped us to appreciate this location and its history. Excellent eating places within easy walking distance - Stanley Hotel provided a very enjoyable meal; Hurseys is a must visit with great seafood dishes, with an array of other options. Stanley is very easy to get around both on foot and by car. Only one bowser for petrol provided a challenge, but is easily managed. A great place to visit.

Nicely set up for tourists, with a wide range of accommodation options. A good base for exploring The Tarkine Drive (and some short walks along the route). Stanley has specially designed, red-lit platforms for admiring the little penguins coming ashore in the evenings. There is a nice, wind-swept walk around the top of the Nut, which hosts a colony of pademelon.

Penguin viewing, walking the town and enjoying a great coffee at Marley’s and excellent takeaway fish and chips from Hurseys. We arrived at 8 pm on Day 1. Spent Day 2 visiting the Tarkine area then walked around Stanley. Day 3 we enjoyed the Harvest Market - excellent for fresh produce, craft and music.

Accommodation was superb and pub was just across the road. If we had more time, it looks like a lovely little town to walk around. Definitely take the chair lift instead of walking up the hill. Then you have the energy to walk around the top of The Nut.

Stanley is a beautiful town with lovely houses and places to eat, drink and shop. A trip on the chair lift to the top of The Nut was excellent. Icing on the cake was seeing the little blue o penguins come home after a days’ fishing.

Everything about this property was excellent. It delivered everything it promised. While some accommodation looks good in the photos but is disappointing when you arrive this was not one of them. The property provided everything you could need. The view was stunning, the location perfect and the neighbourhood was quiet. The walking path was right out the front, the beach just a few steps further and a stroll to the Stanley Hotel for an excellent evening meal was a delight.

Given it was off season and many restaurants/cafes were closed, we had a wonderful stay. We felt it was rather pricey at the rate we paid. Continental Breakfast was included however other daytime and evening meals were limited in comparison to other towns in Tasmania. Overall it's absolutely delightful; a beautiful facility without doubt; such a picturesque part of the world; great hosts and highly recommended and beautifully styled.

Stanely is a beautiful place. The park is well situated to beaches, a town, a golf course, and fairy penquins come in on dusk as well as during the night wallabies come into the park. Most essentials are catered for. Modern furniture and facilities. An IGA supermarket is next door. The best of all is the scenic bay next to the park. It just has a lovely old-world charm in the village streets. A Heritage town of nthwest Tasmania.

Touchwood Cottages is our favorite place to stay. With its gorgeous comfortable furnishings and the friendly atmosphere - it’s always a delight. Hosts Greta and Chris know exactly how to make everyone welcome and at home. The food is a celebration of all things Tasmania and the cafe is always buzzing. I’m still dreaming of the warm Raspberry and Fig Tea Cake.

We like everything about village waterfront accommodation. The staff was very welcoming and informative of the local area, and I would certainly recommend staying in this beautiful accommodation and area. We also felt so comfortable in a beautiful location. Also, I have to mention the bed and pillow were like sleeping in a cloud.....

Fantastic location in the main street across the road from the hotel and easy walk to the main seafood restaurant. Also a 5 minute walk to the chairlift/path to take you to the top of the Nut. Older cottage but homely and comfortable for our two night stay.

Quaint country styled room. Lovely area to wander about in. On a warm day it would be pleasant to sit outside & watch the birds.. Owners were very helpful. It is a short distance to Stanley for a meal & needed to do the same for breakfast.
