We were taken to at least two eating places: One near the train station; The Curry House Restaurant where I had a taste of Pork and another restaurant, southern end of FAU Institute, we had very tasty Pizza.
Getting around Erlangen is quite easy considering affordable buses are all over the place. Next time I would avoid moving around the city by taxi instead of buses

Just easy place to find.
Just easy place to find. But too close to the motor way unfortunately. No hot water unclean Parkin area rubble in the parking bay. I did complain but they only refunded a 10 % as we had no hot water after a long journey . Very bossy reception manager. Not helpful .

It is an okay town.
It is an okay town. Being a student town, there is always something happening near city center (Hugenottenplatz) that will suit your liking. It is well connected with Nürnberg with both S-bahn and RE, and also has well connected bus network within the town. I recommend walking from Neuermarkt to Schlossplatz, or have a picnic in Schlossgarten. That is the most vibrant part of the town, with many shops. Occasionally, there are people playing live music in this path too.

As a tourist base for the city Erlangen and the neighboring cities Fürth and Nuremberg the hotel is really well suited. Car parking in the underground car park of the hotel (13,00 € / day) is possible. Breakfast is unfortunately, in our view, its price (22.90 € per person) is not worth it. During the week there are some alternatives in the immediate vicinity (city center) of the hotel.
Overall: recommended value!

Small town but has a charm to it.
Small town but has a charm to it. It’s very lively especially during weekends. The buildings are beautiful (*it kinda reminds me of Disneyland in Paris). The streets are also very clean, though I’ve never seen any garbage cars or scavengers.
Cool city for a max 3 day business-stay, otherwise the city will make you become really bored. You don’t need bus tickets since the town is so small.
Places to see: Botanical Garden, Neustädter Kirche, Orangerie, Schloßplatz, Hugenottenplatz Place to shop: Erlangen Arcaden
Place to eat: Kitzmann Bräuschänke, Teehaus

Went to Erlangen primarily as a good base to visit Annafest in nearby Forcheim. Was pleasantly surprised by the town. Not a touristy place, but really nice nontheless. Very clean, easy to get around, great transport links, plenty of choice for eating out, and a lovely park.
Thi is a hotel which I would highly recommend anytime. The building is 350 years old and has been lovingly restored by the family who has owned it for the past 40 years. It is totally unique. The hotel is ideally located for anyone who wants to visit the very interesting towns in the vicinity, such as Nuremburg, Bamberg and Erlangen.
We experienced great hospitality, personal service and a fabulous breakfast. It was a totally relaxing stay and I will definitely book this hotel again the next time I go to this area.
Perfect Hotel for a stay in Erlangen and nearby Neurenberg. Definitely recommended for everyone. Hotel directly in the center and a parking garage at the other side of the street
Very nice spacious room! More original then a big commercial hotel. Very comfortable also.
All the staff was extremely friendly and relaxed. Very good quality breakfast. Delicious choices and extremely hygienic.
I would recommend this hotel to friends family and colleagues.
The owners of the hotel were so friendly and warm, they made me feel right at home. They took care of everything I asked for and were excellent conversationalists as well. The room was clean and purpose fit for me. The best part was the excellent view I enjoyed of the church tower nearby. I truly enjoyed my one week at Altmann's Stube and am already planning my next stay with them. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Apart from the aspects in point 2., in which you mentioned pretty much everything and I rated pretty much everything, I must admit that I do loved everything. For instance, the employees :-) one recognized me after a long time not seeing each other, and that is something very valuable for me. So I do rate memory of the employee as perfect one not even considering the visuals, which was also perfection :-)
Located in quiet area and within walking distance to the train station which was convenient to travel into Nuremberg for sightseeing. Receptionist very helpful and helped us identify train times and cheapest ticket for travel. Parking on site was convenient (chargeable) and the bakery opposite the car park was delightful :) hotel is exceptionally clean!
I was second time in this hotel during my bussiness trip in Erlangen and will go there also next time. I had room with kitchenette which is older then some renovated rooms. Bed was a little bit soft for me but OK. As a bonus I went to the sauna, it take only 15 minutes after you ask for turn it on at reception.
The friendly owner. We had a problem with the navigation, on the phone he explained how to get there and explained everything about the self-check-in; very cosy hotel, a few minutes' drive from Nuremberg; I sincerely recommend it.
Everything was immaculate, the receptionist was nice and very helpful, and thankfully spoke good English. I was traveling through Germany and this hotel gave me a very good first impression about the country. Thanks!
I was on a business trip in Erlangen and spent a night at this amazing city hotel, with a lovely decorated ambience and lots of convenience, will come back again soon .
This apartment is very comfortable and well equipped for families. With young or older children. The breakfast was also very nice. We could park in front of the hotel.
