outstanding handheld showers, good pressure and water temperature on point at all times. confy bed, nice and clean room, friendly staff, felt safe in there. easy and fast chek-in (I got a bit early to avoid queues so I was able to check-in and I was given a key to have access to social bathroom and stuff but no room number or room access before the due time - they have a nice social area with bar, pool and sofas so it was fine to me). a lot of young people and students around. spent only one night and honestly it was quite good. nothing to complain about my stay

Location excellent for Laeiszhalle, Brahms Museum, Rathaus and shopping areas. The room itself was huge and well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, excellent shower area and emergency call buttons which I have not seen in other hotels. As I was travelling alone the reception staff followed the accepted standard of not stating my room number out loud - this is not the case with other hotels. Very pleasant stay.

I travel to Hamburg every year for a convention, so my purpose for visiting is not tourism in the first instance.
However, over time I have been able to visit many of Hamburg's cultural attractions and can highly recommend it as a tourist destination.
Public transport is efficient and punctual, and everywhere is easily accessible.
Visit Hamburg - it's a great city!

Hamburg was a surprise.
Hamburg was a surprise. It's not a tourist city as such, I mean they have things to see and tour buses, but it's not the mainstay by any means (no tourist tat shops gives that away!) This is a working port town in one part and an absolutely stunning old town/commercial centre on the other.
The retail opportunities are fabulous so this would be a recommended visit for a shopping trip.
Culturally, there are things to see. We visited the Rathaus and Kunsthalle for example and found these very interesting.
There's history mixed with a lot of new and as mentioned, it's a working town so old buildings and canals with new high rise office blocks. Super clean and easy to get about though. Walk or cycle, don't bother with the train if you're staying in the centre.
One thing to avoid would be Reeperbarn as its tacky, full of cheap bars and sex based options (unless that's your plan for a trip there).
All in all, I would go back again. Shopping and socialising in the city centre are key. Go when it's warm to make the most of the abundant cafe culture outside.

The city was a lot bigger than I thought and I wished I'd have had more time. The local people and police force are very friendly and helpful - most speak English. The train service, throughout the City, to and from the main airport is excellent.

Its really a city that seems to have a lot of tourists.
Its really a city that seems to have a lot of tourists. The train were easily accessible especially during the day time. We enjoy a park close to hotel Keese. We spent sometime there walking around and sitting down for fresh air, eat and drink.
Avoid checking in late to your hotel if you dont have wifi on your phone. Try to check in when staff are still on site.

A lot to see and to do.
A lot to see and to do. Very nice and funny people, great hospitality. The canal cruise is a real recommendation. Eating and drinking is very good (and not too expensive). The Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall is a must see. Line 62 boat is also a recommendatation, you just sit and look at the harbor from the river Elbe. If you travel a lot with the public transport in Hamburg we would recommend the Hamburg Card. For diner we can recommend the Portuguese quarter!
The Atlantic Hotel in Hamburg is a great choice. Wonderful location in front of the lake but also walking distance from the central train station. Rooms are beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. What made the difference was the young staff: high customer orientation and always willing to help and find solutions to our requests. We strongly recommend this hotel for anyone who would like to have a memorable experience in Hamburg.
This is a very special place - it combines hotel facilities with an old people's home, to everyone's benefit. The facilities are great (kids loved the swimming pool), the rooms are big and spacious. The hotel is located next to one of the most amazing zoos in Europe and next to a metro station, so you can be in city centre in 15 minutes. The breakfast buffet was fine as well, as was the restaurant.
Location was great, it's right around the corner from the Hauptbahnhof, very convenient. The breakfasts were really lovely, fresh coffee and juices, breads, jams, eggs, nicely laid on time. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, letting me keep my suitcase there for a few hours after I checked out, but before I left Hamburg. I'd definitely go back, such a good value and comfortable place.
The hotel is located in a green and tranquil neighbourhood, with good public transport connection to the city centre, parks, shops, restaurants, and cafes. The property has a cosy cafe and a nice restaurant, so even if you do not feel like making your own meal using the microwave that is provided in the room you can get a meal without getting out. The design is modern and hip.
The breakfast was fine with decent selection, nothing too big, but good enough.
The location is very good for car travels since it is very easy to get to the city centre from hotel. Also car park is relatively spacious and there were enough free parking spots even though we have arrived very late. For electric cars there are many chargers available.
This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in Germany ever, very beautiful and clean, has quite large rooms, and extremely helpful and kind staff. Located in a nice and quiet area. The breakfast, well this was extremely good, plenty of choices. If I ever go to Hamburg again, I wouldn't look further.
The room was light and airy with a wood floor. Bed was comfortable and although the bathroom was small, the shower was hot and powerful. Location was great for Hamburg Messe and the centre could be reached 1 stop on the metro. I would consider this hotel again if I was visiting the Messe.
Awesome hotel next to Hamburg Airport with good connections to the center via public transport.
Three star hotel with good facilities and comfy rooms. I enjoyed the German-style breakfast buffet with bread and cold cuts. Worth the money! Cheap and excellent quality. Friendly staff too!
Sternschanze is best social life location in Hamburg, but doesn't enough accomodations and this hotel is on good location, value for the money, in fact very good and not expensive as mostly hotels in Hamburg are during the whole year. warm recommend
A very nice hotel, with a perfect location when traveling to Hamburg University Law Faculty, very clean, with very pleasant and helpful staff, and excellent value for money. Recommended for someone who needs to spend a night or two in Hamburg
hotel has a perfect location on Hamburg centrum. The walk from the Main train & bus station. literally minutes later at the centre of all attractions.
Newly built building. Good price to value, Friendly staff.
Fresh, clean
A very nice small boutique hotel. We absolutely loved the small terraces that the rooms have. The rooms can only be described as huge, and airy. Many, many windows, and each can be opened to let the fresh air in.
Clean, modern, very friendly staff, metro station located right outside the hotel with a direct connection to the city centre. Also walking distance to a nice street with lots of restaurants and little shops.
Good and decent in the South of Hamburg. Close to Bergedorf and easy to get the train to Hamburg City Centre. Very nice breakfast, rooms were good. A good Hotel that has everything you need.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, and good value for money given that it was a national holiday weekend in Germany.
I look forward to staying there again the next time I'm in Hamburg!
This is like a hotel!! it’s spacious and comfortable, very clean and well-designed. The price is also cheap, if you want to stay in Hamburg for a couple of days, this is it!!!
Good and relatively cheap parking facilities behind the hotel. I would certainly like to stay there at my next visit to Hamburg.
Very polite and helpful staff.
