This is the loveliest hotel I have ever stayed in! On one hand, you can feel the rich history of the place, and on the other hand, it's a charming boutique hotel where every detail is beautifully crafted. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, the amazing breakfast, and the stunning views. It’s a place I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Angra.
Angra stole my heart; it's a place I would love to return to. You can take a leisurely 20-minute walk to the city center or drive to convenient public parking spots.
With its privileged location on Angra’s Main Square, the Azoris Angra Garden – Plaza Hotel is well-positioned to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We adore Angra do Heroismo, the food in the cafes and restaurants and excellent and fresh, especially the pasteis de nata, seafood, meats, fruits, and vegetables. The city is extremely easy to walk around as well as drive around - we loved to walk and made the most of it. The central garden is a must see and truly serene, the marina is a must-see to take in the ocean and swimming at the beach if you'd like. The whale and dolphin watching was truly magical as we saw so many whales and schools of dolphins. The weather was great for us along with the cultural festivities of parades and Tourada a Cordas.

What I liked the most were the old streets, with the buildings, including the Angra do Heroismo Museum. However, there were a few minor annoyances:
1. The Tourust Information booth was useless, and you couldn't book a tour on-site.
2. The routes were pretty narrow, and people parked on the street, and nearly everyone drove, which made it a bit perilous for those on foot.
Nevertheless, the people were nice, and most spoke English

We did a lot of walking as it’s often the best way to get to know a place. Angra has much to offer in the way of history, beautiful public gardens, views - we climbed Monte Brasil - churches and eateries.

Beautiful, walkable downtown. People were so friendly.
Beautiful, walkable downtown. People were so friendly. Stunning views both looking at Monte Brasil and from Monte Brasil looking back toward town. The pink cathedral was very interesting, worth a stop in. Food was excellent! We especially enjoyed O Forno for dessert and the many tapas restaurants on Rua de Sāo Joāo. We also went scuba diving and found Nuno with Deep Blue Azores to be fantastic - wonderful dive master and very interactive underwater. Wonderful island and already itching to go back!

I was only there for one day, which was definitely not enough! Still, I was able to do a hike at Monte Brasil and explore Angra do Heroísmo downtown. Really recommend Monte Brasil if you are looking for some nature near town. Besides that the view from Obelisco do Alto da Memoria is amazing! I had lunch at Tasca das Tias, a really cute restaurante with great food.

breakfast was wonderful. The staff were friendly and very helpful giving us dinner recommendations and even calling to make reservations for us. The hotel was very clean, and in an excellent location. They had free parking available, its a decent sized parking lot but they do recommend that you request a spot when booking the hotel. We took advantage of this amenity and it was great to not have to worry about paying the meter on the streets. Free parking is difficult to find in the city, but hotel location was great for walking around.
Large, well appointed apartment with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Our host, Vitor, was very helpful with a lot of good advice. We enjoyed our conversations. We were there for seven nights. The view from the living and dining rooms and the balcony is outstanding. Having a clothes washer and dryer is a plus. The apartment is walking distance to most sights and having free parking in front of the building is appreciated. This apartment is a great place to stay in Angra do Heroismo.
Perfectly nice hotel! We stayed for only one night as we passed through Terceira. Everything was clean and comfortable enough. The wifi was very good, good enough for me to stream and even take a work call. The room is small, but not unmanagable. The staff was helpful and kind. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed the town of Angra, it has a bit more history and architectural beauty than we found elsewhere in the Acores, and this was the perfect location to explore from.
Grand hotel that I think has only recently opened. Lovely views of Monte Brasil. Has a swimming pool. Spacious airy feel to the place and interesting history. Staff are very helpful, professional and friendly. Very personalised feel to the place due to high staff/guest ratio; were able to assist me a lot. Nice breakfast. Large area in front of entrance to park car.
The hotel is very beautiful and quite recent, the beds are super comfortable and the rooms are spacious, allowing you even to cook a small meal and eat at your balcony! The free indoor parking is also a big plus! Breakfast buffet has all you need for a healthy (lots of fruit choices) and filling meal (a la carte options like eggs, omelet, pancakes, etc.)
We did not stay because the odor of the hotel was too bad. Referencing Trip Advisor, after declining to stay there. The smell and run down condition is noted several times.

A very comfortable and "cosy" hostel.
Amazing location - in the centre of Angra do Heroísmo. Awesome views of the ocean, marina and Igreja da Misericórdia from the balcony. Great common areas.
It was really quiet: I didn't hear any noise from other rooms or outside a hostel.
Highly recommend!
The Shipyard is a wonderful place to stay in Angra do Heroismo. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and my room was so spacious and super comfortable. Parking is free and easy, breakfast is incredible. Everything is stylish and well-appointed. Easy walk along the harbor to restaurants
The hotel is new, opened in 2021, right in the old city centre of Angra do Heroismo in a historical building. Rooms are nice and comfortable, it has two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor and a very good restaurant where we had dinner the last night and which we strongly recommend.
The place is very well located, right in the center of Angra do Heroísmo. There are many bars and restaurants in the neighborhood, hence it is a lively area. The room was clean, just enough for a weekend stay. It felt safe, wifi worked well and overall I have had a good experience.
This apartment appeared to be new. Everything worked, everything was available in the kitchen. The location was great. The host was warm and welcoming. This is an excellent place to spend a few days while exploring Angra do Heroismo and Terceira island.
the house was beautiful, and the staff were exceptional! there are a lot of beautifully renovated hotels but this one has all the details right which is hard to do. Laura was particularly exceptional and we were really sad to leave her care.
The location of this hotel is excellent. It is at the edge of the city so it is quiet and serene. Ocean views are great! We walked around the city for the most part. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay here again!
actually I think it's the best hotel in value for money: it's renovated, close to city center and ocean pool. Breakfast is really good - there is everything that you need: cheese/sausage, eggs, fruits etc
The location is perfect when you have a car and also good to walk to town. Fast wifi, comfortable rooms. Balcony views are beautiful. Good breakfast. Everyone at the hotel was very nice
Location was great. Easy to get to the rest of the island with a car. Walking distance from the center of Angra do Heroismo. The view of the balcony is amazing.
Very helpful and warm welcome! Perfect service at the hotel and up to date advices for my touristic plannings. New and very nice styled hotel. Will come back!
