This room was by far not just our favorite of our vacation but one of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed in. Extremely posh without being snooty a very difficult thing for a hotel to achieve. Everything was excellent. My husband said he wanted to live in that room.

The staff was very friendly, the room and view exactly what I hoped, and the location was great; 20 minutes from almost everything in Aveiro. You could hear a train in the distance, but other than that it was a very quiet and safe area. And Uber's are an easy way to get further away.

The room was spotless, the staff were all wonderful, very helpful, and always friendly. Breakfast was alright. My only problem was that the room was tiny and the bed was filled with eight large pillows. Very claustrophobic.

Aviero is beautiful. The town centre has amazing Portuguese style buildings, the streeets are very clean, it is all very walkable and the gondola trips are very reasonably priced and leave from the canal in the central area. These tours are in multiple languages, so suitable for everyone. The local restaurants have all types of great food at very reasonable prices and local supermarkets and shops are really good value. People are friendly and helpful. Loved our stay there.

Lots of tourists in Aveiro at the weekend, many on the moliceiro boat trips along the canal. Lovely way to sightsee if weather is good - it was quite hot before Easter but with a cooling breeze. The multi-lingual guide on the moliceiro gave detailed and interesting information about Aveiro, especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings as well as the stunning modern architecture. Also the fishing history of Aveiro was explained well.
Lovely walks alongside the canal from MELIA hotel, quiet and very little traffic until you arrive in the centre. On Sundays many market stalls selling numerous antiques along both sides of canal.
Back street walks are full of interesting surprises, traditional tiled buildings, sculptures, cafes, restaurants and bars. Very easy to walk around and explore or cycle on numerous dedicated cycle paths. Also excellent S Joana museum and art gallery in centre.
Good place for a long weekend or even a week if you also want to get out of centre to the beaches.

Aveiro is a charming city with fantastic food and friendly people.
We are moving there, that is how much we like it. It is much cleaner and quieter than Porto (where we have lived for the past 3 years.)
There is lots to do, shopping, eating, sites, boat rides, museums, to name a few.
There are lovely cities nearby as well. Ovar, Costa Nova, Águeda and Ílhavo. As well as Coimbra.
It has a great central location 2 hrs from Lisbon and less than an hour from Porto.

Aveiro is a beautiful city overall, my favourite place is the Ria of Aveiro wit his colourful boats and the Barra's beach with his colorful wood-houses as well.
I ate in a restaurant near the shopping centre Forum. I've rent a car from Lisbon to get around so I didn't need a public transport but there's a bicycle in the city to rent to get around which is very useful.
You have to go to a restaurant on time between 12-15 otherwise it won't be easy to find a place that open till late for lunch.
I like traditional restaurants around the city instead of the fast food ones. In Portugal the food is amazing!

I regret not being able to explore the city thoroughly during my visit. Nonetheless, I had a delightful evening at a local pub, which turned out to be a truly enjoyable experience. The people in the city are remarkably warm and friendly, adding to the overall positive impression of my brief stay.

Seeing pictures and videos of Aveiro was excepting more then what I saw. Those who say Aveiro is Portugal's Venice they must not been in Venice. For us it was waste of time to stay overnight. Maybe it was due to construction that was going around the city center. I was very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend staying overnight. Maybe quick stop on your way.
Everything was fabulous start to finish!! This was by far the most unique, beautiful and historical hotel we have or will ever stay in. The attention to detail that went into each room was like nothing we have ever seen. I can’t say enough about the charming staff, they could not have been more helpful and truly delightful - especially Barbara - thank you! So, if you are ever in Aveiro you absolutely need to stay at this exceptional palace! It is an event onto itself!!!
The room and bathroom were not really spacious, but quite enough. Also you can use common kitchen. Location of the hotel is just perfect, near the historical center, so you can explore the town by foot. The staff was very welcoming and helping, many thanks to them! And the most important one: I honestly had the best bed EVER in this hotel, so comfy! I'd like to come back just to sink in this again :D
This was a great location for visiting Aveiro. Easy, short 10 minute walk into the center of town, easy driving to/from the hotel with indoor parking available. Hotel was being remodeled and the new rooms were fabulous. Great home base for visiting the local area. Excellent breakfast with large variety of options was available at the hotel.
Modern appartment directly located at the center of Aveiro, canal with boats full of tourists directly at the front door, everything close by. Public parking on the opposite side of the canal always had space for us (to offload/onload luggage I would recommend to temporarily and briefly park the car in front of the apparment).
Most unique and authentic family run property that we experienced during a six week trip exploring the coast of Portugal. The property was first class, clean, and we were provided a white glove experience. The restaurant served the most spectacular seafood harvested right from the property.
Room was good, very silent and clean.
Staff was great, very helpful and welcoming.
The hotel is very pretty and suits well to the "Old Vibe" of an Italian Hotel in Veneza.
Do recommed the stay, worth the money I spent.
Also, location is perfect to see the city center by foot.
Perfect location, in the city center of Aveiro. Small but well equipped bed and breakfast (it is classified as a hostel, but it is more a small B&B) . Small but super cute and clean rooms. The bathroom was INSIDE the room. Very kind owner. Tasty breakfast. Strongly recommend
The hotel is extremely well located - at the centre of all attractions. The facilities were good and met expectations. All staff was very friednly and helpeful as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back if we're ever in Aveiro again.
Lovely hotel perfectly situated to get to the centre of Aveiro quickly and easily. We brought boat tour tickets off the reception team giving us a discount and the staff were also very helpful with recommendations of where to go eat and sight see.
The apartment is very well located in the centre of Aveiro, the view for the canal can be enjoyed from the living room and from one of the bedrooms. Very comfortable, well equipped and clean. Would have been worth it to stay for a little longer.
Loved the close proximity to the train station and we really enjoyed how close we were to the center of town. Great front desk service and rooms were cleaned very well daily. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know staying in Aveiro.
The staffs were friendly, especially Tiago. The location is perfectly close to almost everything, the museum, shopping mall, the city center, and Aveiro University. It was a great time staying in this hostel.
Fabulous hotel in a great location, a few minutes walk along the canal from the old centre of Aveiro. Super clean and very comfortable room. Helpful staff, plenty of street parking outside the hotel.
It is the perfect place to stay in Aveiro. It is located near the city center in a peaceful street. The room is big and clean. The owner is available and very polite. For me it is a super OK!!
the rooms very good , breakfast was good , the couple who manage the property are really nice and helpful . a very good place to stay in the center of aveiro .
It's all about location... You can not find a better located Hotel in Aveiro. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room are wide, bright and clean.
Well located at about 10 minutes walking from the centre of Aveiro. The staff was really helpful. The hotel is modern but has a nice traditional decor.
