Carvoeiro is a really cute town! It wasn't too crowded and had a ton of restaurants and shops. We walked along the Algar Seco trail to town and then took the tuk tuk provided by our hotel (Tivoli) back.
In my opinion, Carvoeiro was the perfect mid-point location in The Algarves. Easy to head in either direction to see many sites and towns (Lagos and Sagres in one direction; Albufeiro and Faro in the other direction).
We rented a car and found driving to be pretty easy (we did take one wrong turn and ended up on a street meant only for walking), but other than that, following gps directions and signage was good.

Carvoeiro was excellent, smaller and quieter than some of the other towns and still had more restaurants than you can visit in a week and they all were excellent. Easy walk to multiple beaches and lots of exploring to do with the Seven Hanging Valleys trail so close. No need for a car everything was a short walk. Carvoeiro Tours was an excellent boat tour of the caves that picked us up right on the beach. Boneca Bar in the Algar Seco was just a fantastic lunch stop after the tour for drinks and more exploring.

We were there in November, weather was rainy and windy the first day, but sunny and 65 the second day. This is a hard town to get to from Seville, so we ended up hiring a driver to take us from Seville to Faro where we rented a car and drove to Carvoeiro. Lovely little town. We ate at O Cantinho and A Gale, both traditional Portuguese restaurants that I would highly recommend. Great boardwalk along the cliffs above the ocean. Easy to walk around, hilly, but that did not bother us. Pretty short drive to Praha Marinha where we hiked the the seven hanging valleys trail. All in all, a great spot for exploring the Algarve. I would very much like to go back here.

We have been to this area before and like it’s proximity to the town, you can walk there is 30 mins, Carvoeira, also there are supermarkets cafes and restaurants nearby, some of the later you can walk to. There are several interesting towns nearby such as Alvor and Silves and beautiful boardwalks at Alvor and Salgados plus the lovely walk at beach at Pria do Vale de Centeanes.
Favourite place to eat for us have been O Algar at Benagil, La Bella Vita, Primavera plus Organic or Earth for breakfast/ brunch and Decadente for coffee snacks and drinks in the evening.

This hotel was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The staff are absolutely amazing, hotel facilities are really good, it is very easily accessible.
I stayed for my anniversary and the hotel staff did everything they can to make it special for me and my wife, upgrading our room, giving us private access to the spa and organising a surprise in the room. A special thanks to Beatriz and Bruno for accommodating all my requests and making the amazing experience far more exciting.
This was my fourth time staying at the resort. The last visit was in 2018, and regrettably , Monte Santo is not what it was. The resort is shabby and neglected, the room cleaning, changing of bed linen and towels is rare, and the staff are unhelpful and some are quite rude. The pool area is dirty, the Sun loungers and the parasols are broken and dirty.
Really disappointed, and will not be returning again. The hotel has a 5 star rating, which most certainly is no longer deserved.
The location is absolutely fantastic. The property is beautiful and incredibly well maintained. Our apartment was squeaky clean and tastefully decorated. It was also very, very large. Our balcony overlooked the main two of the eight pools and the sea. The pools are super clean. We were there in October and the weather was still warm enough to swim in the pool and the sea. The reception desk is very helpful. The guests in the adjacent apartments were all very friendly.
Staff was very friendly and helpful when we checked in. Breakfast was a buffet and had an excellent selection of items.
We especially liked having a balcony overlooking the town, restaurants and beach . So comfortable to sit outside and
watch the world go by. Parking at the hotel was very convenient and so happy that they had parking spaces available while we were there. Just a minute walk to the beach. Great location overall for visiting the Algarve.
The apartment was spotless, well equipped and in a perfect position to enjoy all the amenities in Carvoeiro. It was perfect for two couples. Andy was there to greet us and was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary arrival pack was absolutely wonderful and much appreciated. We have been coming to Carvoeiro for many years and have stayed in many places, but this is now our number 1. We have already booked to stay again.
The location was a touch noisy for me. I'm not really a city break or beach holiday kind of person, but as I was in Portugal anyway I decided it would be good to experience the Algarve. I had been staying in a remote location in the countryside so arriving in Carvoeiro was a bit of a culture shock for me. Despite all of that, I enjoyed it immensely. The apartment is tip top and I would recommend it to anyone.
The Hotel has a great location in Carvoeiro. only few minutes walking distance to restaurant and shops. Thanks to the manager Luis Guerreiro , who went out of his way to accommodate us with a perfect room, we enjoyed a breathtaking view over the sea and cliffs of Carvoeiro. Jordan, who helped us to settle in, was very helpful and friendly . Also, get a table on the terrace for breakfast, it’s beautiful.
Best one for the value in Carvoeiro in my opinion. The waterview definitely worth it for an extra 20E over the street view. Breakfast was fantastic, and the crew, especially at intake take their time and were very helpful with our short stay in this part of Algarve. Everything is within walking distance
Very well placed villa within short walking distance of the beach and centre of Carvoeiro. Comfortable villa with plenty of space and facilities. Lovely communal pool area. Excellent continental breakfast delivered to our door every day. Very friendly staff.
Carla was a very welcoming host! She told me the best things to do and see around Carvoeiro. Bed was comfy, breakfast was really nice, ac worked well. Close to the beach and all the tourist shops. Nice quiet place to relax, I wish I would've stayed longer!
We booked late so it was one of the only places available, very good value for money, clean and easy to walk to Carveiro Village and the Beach. Secure Parking! We were worried Carveiro would be too "touristy," but was absolutely lovely and laid back.
A spacious villa for 8 with a pool table, table tennis and pool. Great location, 15 minute walk to Carvoeiro beach and centre. Loads of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Stayed very cool in the villa in April.
We loved our stay with the Hello Villas! The space was so clean and comfortable and location was absolutely perfect. We would absolutely recommend this to friends and stay here again.
Pool, roof terrace, welcome pack, comfortable, comfortable bed, quiet but near to Centeanes beach. Carvoeiro centre is abut 1.5 miles..walkable. Good cocktails at Tivoli hotel
Great location, fabulous breakfast and the host, Carla couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend this little gem in the centre of Carvoeiro.
Amazing hotel, amazing breakfast the workers are gentle, the room is big amazing bathroom the decoration, the hotel is amazing beach. I loved I really recommend.
